Republic of the Philippines Province of Sarangani MUNICIPALITY OF MALUNGON OFFICE OF THE MAYOR EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 19 Series of 2023 AN ORDER EXPANDING THE RECONSTITUTED MUNICIPAL ‘SCHOOL BOARD (MSB) OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MALUNGON WHEREAS, Section 98, Title IV of the Local Government Code of 1991 states that: “There shall be established in every province, city or municipality a provincial, city or municipal school boards respectively;” WHEREAS, there is a need to expand the reconstituted Municipal School Board in view of the wide-ranging needs of the education sector and in order to effectively address the requirements for education services, with inclusive participation of all stakeholders; NOW THEREFORE, I, MARIA THERESA D. CONSTANTINO, Municipal Mayor of Malungon, Sarangani, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby order the RECONSTITUTING AND EXPANDING THE MUNICIPAL SCHOOL BOARD OF MALUNGON. SECTION 1. COMPOSITION OF REGULAR MEMBERS OF THE MUNICIPAL SCHOOL BOARD. There is hereby reconstituted the regular members of the Municipal School Board which shall be composed of the following: ATTY. The Board shall have the following duties and responsibilities to wit: 1. Determine the operation and maintenance of public schools within the ‘municipality which shall be reflected in the form of Annual and Supplemental Budget of the Special Education Fund; 2. Authorize the Municipal Treasurer to disburse funds from the Special Education Fund (SEF) in accordance to the prepared SEF Budget; 3. Serve as an advisory body especially on education matters which shall not be limited to the uses of local appropriations for education purposes; 4. Recommend changes in the names of public schools within the territorial jurisdiction of the local government for enactment of the Sanggunian concerned; and 5. Recommend the appointment of District Supervisors, School Principals, Head Teachers and other school officials. SECTION 4. QUORUM. For purposes of establishing a quorum in order to proceed with a meeting, at least 50% plus one of the regular members shall be the required number. ‘SECTION 5. EFFECTIVITY.
