Installation Issues
When installing the software
When installing the software I get the following error message displayed.
How can I resolve this? Answer - This is not actually an error, but a Notice. It is caused by the installation trying to overwrite a file currently in use by windows. Try closing any open applications and selecting Retry. If the notice persists it is an indication that the file is a system file. Select cancel and continue the installation. At the end of the installation, re-boot your machine. Windows will write the file to the appropriate place when re-starting.

Runtime Issues
When starting FDA2
When starting FDA2 for the first time I get the following dialogue.
I enter some information in the Location field but get an error and the software will not start Answer- This is due to the user having restricted permissions. The user must have at least Power User rights. However, the registry merge file fda_register_hq.reg can solve this issue and bypass this screen if that does not fix the issue.

I have logged in
I have logged in and see the following error message (in fact it appears twice!)
What do they mean? Answer- The first message (which appears twice) is a warning that the Ole server required to perform some GUI activities throughout the software has failed to initialise or store its values in the registry. Again this is due to the user having restricted permissions. Running the registry merge file FDA_OLE2.reg can solve this issue.

ShipRight FDA2 Frequently Asked Questions 2.6 I have started the software
I have started the software and am trying to open a project. However when click the open button I get the following Dialogue and I know that there are projects available. Why are they not showing?
Answer- The software cannot read from compressed drives/directories. Uncompress any directories containing FDA projects and the software will see them.

Answer- The solver will only accept a path to the project up to a maximum of 128 characters. Shorten the project directory to 15 characters or less. The solver should now run properly. Alternatively store your RootFDA directory in the root of the C drive, rather than the suggested C:\Program Files\Lloyd's Register of Shipping\ShipRight FDA\RootFDA
When the solver is instantiated the spaces in the path name are converted to %20 so any spaces in a path actually count as 3 characters)
