webMethods is an Integration & API Management platform.

It runs in the cloud, on

premises, or in hybrid or multi-cloud environments. The 3 main capabilities of
webMethods are:

- webMethods Integration: it is a versatile ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), used to

create a communication layer between enterprise applications, SaaS applications, APIs,
etc… It can adapt to various enterprises architectures (microservices, unified
runtime…), and comes with 300+ ready-to-use connectors to easily be plugged to most
of the key software used in companies around the globe.

- webMethods API: it is an API gateway, used to manage the full lifecycle of APIs
(versioning, monitoring, security, etc…).

- webMethods B2B: it is a document management system to transmit and track

business documents (like purchase orders, invoices and shipping notices) and share it
with customers and business partners.
Here are the main components that make up the webMethods.io
Integration home screen:
 Navigation Tabs. Projects. Monitor. Recipes.
 Environment Name.
 App Switcher.
 Documentation.
 Notifications.
 Profile and Settings.
My webmethod server:
My webMethods provides tools for monitoring and diagnosing. Those tools are available
from the navigation pane, in the MWS Monitoring and Diagnostics section of the Tools
tab. For more information, see Diagnosing My webMethods Server.

Command central webmethods:

A command center is a central place for carrying out orders and for supervising tasks,
also known as a headquarters, or HQ. Common to every command center are three
general activities: inputs, processes, and outputs. The inbound aspect is
communications (usually intelligence and other field reports).

While frequently considered to be a military facility, these can be used in many other
cases by governments or businesses. The term "war room" is also often used in politics
to refer to teams of communications people who monitor and listen to the media and the
public, respond to inquiries, and synthesize opinions to determine the best course of
action.
Managed file transfer (MFT):

Managed file transfer (MFT) is a technology platform that allows organizations to

reliably exchange electronic data between systems and people in a secure way to meet
compliance needs..
These data movements can be both internal and external to an enterprise and include
various types, including sensitive, compliance-protected or high-volume data. It can be
offered as software or as a service and may include a single pane for visibility and
governance.

Software ag universal messaging/broker:

Universal Messaging is a Message Orientated Middleware product that guarantees
message delivery across public, private and wireless infrastructures. Universal
Messaging has been built from the ground up to overcome the challenges of delivering
data across different networks. It provides its guaranteed messaging functionality
without the use of a web server or modifications to firewall policy.

 Functionality:
Universal Messaging offer a wide range of functionality in the areas of
Scheduling, Triggers, Clustering, Realm Federation, Joins, JMS, Pub / Sub (Channels),
Pub / Sub (Data Groups), Queues, Plugins, Security and Low Latency IO.
 Server Administration:
The Universal Messaging design comprises client and server components.
Universal Messaging offers the Enterprise Manager for UI-based administration, and
APIs for server administration.
 Client APIs:
Client APIs are available for a wide range of languages at the enterprise
level. APIs are also available for building applications for Web-based and mobile device
scenarios.
API Gateway:
API Gateway is the core run time component in webMethods API Management
platform and it enables organizations to secure, manage and monitor their API
programs. It allows providers to securely expose APIs to external developers, partners,
and other consumers.

An API gateway is an API management tool that sits between a client and a collection of
backend services. An API gateway acts as a reverse proxy to accept all application
programming interface (API) calls, aggregate the various services required to fulfill
them, and return the appropriate result.
