SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
1. WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
This system locks and unlocks the vehicle's doors
remotely. The wireless control system has the following
features:
• The door control receiver performs the code
identification process and the instrument panel
junction block (integration relay) operates the door
lock control.
A serial data link is provided for communication
between the receiver and integration relay.
• A key-integrated type transmitter is used and it has a
door lock switch, door unlock switch and panic switch.
2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
Component Function

Has LOCK, UNLOCK, and PANIC switches.
Transmits weak radio waves (recognition codes and function codes) to the door control
DL
Door control transmitter
receiver.
• Illuminates the indicator light (LED) during transmission.
Receives weak radio waves (recognition codes and function codes) and outputs them as
Door control receiver
code data to the integration relay.
• Front door courtesy light switch
Turns on when a door is opened and turns off when it is closed. Outputs door status codes
• Rear door courtesy light switch
(open or closed) to the integration relay.
• Back door courtesy light switch
Unlock warning switch Detects if the key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder or not.
Door lock position switch Transmits the door lock positions of each door to the integration relay.
Sends wireless door lock control signals in response to the code data from the door control
Integration relay
receiver and signals from each switch.

3. SYSTEM FUNCTION
The door control transmitter has the LOCK, UNLOCK
and PANIC switches. Operating these switches activates
each function.
The wireless door lock control system has the following
functions:
Function Operation
All door lock function Pressing LOCK switch locks all doors when all doors are closed.
All door unlock function (2-step unlock function) Pressing UNLOCK switch once will unlock driver side door. Pressing
UNLOCK switch again within 3 seconds will unlock passenger side door and
back door.
Answer-back function Hazard warning lights flash once when doors are locked, and flash twice
when doors are unlocked to indicate that operation has been completed.
Panic alarm function Holding down PANIC switch sets off theft deterrent alarm, which consists of
sounding horn intermittently, illuminating room light and flashing headlights,
taillights and hazard warning lights.
Automatic lock function If no doors are opened within 30 seconds after they are unlocked by wireless
operation, all doors will lock again automatically.
Illuminated entry function With all doors locked, pressing UNLOCK switch causes room lights to
illuminate simultaneously with unlocking operation.
DL–44 DOOR LOCK – WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM

4. TRANSMITTER RECOGNITION CODE

REGISTRATION FUNCTION
The table below shows the 4 ID registration function
modes by which up to 6 different codes can be
registered. The codes are electronically registered
(written and stored) in the EEPROM that is contained in
the door control receiver.
Mode Function
Adds a newly received code while preserving any previously registered codes.
Add mode This mode is used when adding a new transmitter. If the number of registered codes
exceeds 4, the oldest registered code is erased first.
Rewrite mode Erases all previously registered codes and registers only newly input codes.
Confirms how many codes are currently registered. When adding a new code, this mode is
Confirmation mode
used to check how many codes already exist.
Deletes all the registered codes and disables the wireless door lock function.
Prohibition mode
This mode is used when the transmitter is lost.

OPERATION CHECK
1. FUNCTIONS AND OPERATING CONDITIONS
(a) The wireless door LOCK/UNLOCK function:
This function operates only when the following 3
conditions are met:
(1) There is no key in the ignition key cylinder.
(2) All the doors are closed.
(3) The power door lock system is functioning
normally.
HINT:
The UNLOCK function operates even when any
of the doors are open.
(b) Remote panic function:
This function operates only when the following
condition is met:
(1) The ignition switch is OFF.
HINT: DL
The key can be inserted.
However the ignition switch must be OFF.
(c) The wireless transmitter operational range differs
depending on the situation.
(1) The operational range differs depending on the
user, the way the transmitter is held and the
location.
(2) In certain areas, the operational range will be
reduced due to the vehicle body shape and the
influence of the surrounding environment.
(3) Since the transmitter uses weak radio waves,
the operational range may be reduced or the
transmitter may not function if interference or
stronger radio waves occur in the area where
the transmitter is used.
(4) When the battery is low, the operational range is
reduced and/or the transmitter may not function.
HINT:
If the transmitter has been left in a place that is
exposed to direct sunlight, such as on the
instrument panel, the battery may be weakened
or other problems may occur.
2. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL
FUNCTIONS
HINT:
• The switches built into the door control transmitter
send radio waves to the door lock control receiver.
• The operational range must be taken into account
during checks.
(a) Establish conditions that allow the wireless control
function to be operated successfully.
DL–48 DOOR LOCK – WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
