Morrison’s novel correspondingly is also somewhat a celebration of the victory of human love.
Maybe all he was really saying was: I am not responsible for your pain; share your happiness with
me but not your unhappiness.” This alludes to the circular time Morrison seems to favour and the
passing on of what's important within it, from one morally mature person to another. I love how she
develops the characters and how she writes her stories. It provides a thorough exploration of the
novel’s plot, characters and main themes, including the experience of black Americans in the 20th
century, the importance of names and family bonds. Based on this crooked concept of gender roles,
the culture in the novel considers men and women inversely. As Lena articulates in the ninth chapter,
urination turns out to be a symbol and representation for Milkman’s conduct to his sisters and the
other women in his life. Beloved, set almost two centuries later, examines the exacting and haunting
cost of an escaped slave, Sethe, slitting her young daughter's throat rather than letting her child be
captured by slave hunters. Product Identifiers Publisher Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group ISBN-

Macon Dead enjoyed extramarital liaisons with “a slack or lonely female tenant” prior to Milkman’s
birth; these encounters could have included Guitar’s mother prior to her disappearance (p. 21). If
that’s the case, then it is not impossible that Macon is in fact the natural father of Guitar. Song of
Solomon tells the story of Macon “Milkman” Dead III, a young African-American man from a
wealthy family, as he begins to explore his family’s history and discover his own identity. Milkman’s
relationships definitely mirrored a lot of my own. They let him keep his head up high, free, with
nothing to hide him or bind him. In the novel's only shade of magical realism, the character discovers

Milkman must surpass his emotional backwardness.
Milkman in his thirties carries on like a man in his late teens or early twenties, not having found

lyrical. Milkman is so worried and troubled with his own problems and hardships that he does not

he belongs to you because you want to belong to him. Morrison does see a solution in women and
poverty, and even though she isn't naive about them, it is unclear whether they are sufficient as
solutions. After all, I did’t expect to enjoy Invisible Man either. The assertion suggests that Pilate
