    A collar is the part of a dress that
    closes around your neck securely. It
    can be attached to a shirt, coat,
    blouse, etc.
    Classification of collar
    Collars canbe classify based on their ;

    SHAPE
    1. Point Collar
    (also known as the forward-point collar
    or straight-point collar) is the most
    traditional of all collar-types. It has the
    narrowest distance between collar
    points (1.5” - 3.5”), to meet the lapels
    on both sides. It also means your tie will
    fit snugly without any gap either side.

    2. Spread collar
    a popular dress shirt collar
    characterized by horizontal, angular
    ‘points’ (the tips of the collar leaf) and
    collar point length. “Spread” refers to
    the distance between the collar shirt
    points, typically around 5″ from one
    point to the other.

    3. Mandarin Collar
    Mandarin Collar, or the Mao collar, is a small,
    close-fitting, stand up collar. It is usually
    about 3-4cm high, with edges that don't quite
    meet at the front. As its name suggests, the
    Mandarin Collar comes from the traditional
    dress worn by the Mandarins in Imperial
    China.

    A Peter Pan collar is a style of
    clothing collar, flat in design with
    rounded corners. It is named after
    the collar of Maude Adams's
    costume in her 1905 role as Peter
    Pan, although similar styles had
    been worn before this date

    5. Sailor Collar
    The sailor collar is quite an in fashion for
    its double square panel and middle V-
    neck appeal. Sailor collars are a type of
    neckwear that was popular in the 19th
    century. They were popular among sailors
    and other seafarers as they were easy to
    put on and take off.

    1. Narrow collar
    A narrow collar typically refers to
    a type of collar on a shirt or
    blouse that is narrower in width
    compared to traditional collars. It
    is characterized by its slim and
    streamlined appearance.

    What are shirts with wide collars
    called? Collars with a wide spread are
    most commonly referred to as cutaway
    collars. This is because the collar
    points look as though they have been
    cut away from the rest of the collar.

    neck. It is characterized by its lack of an
    opening or a gap at the front. Closed
    collars are commonly found in various
    clothing items, including shirts, dresses,
    jackets, and coats.
    FUNCTIONALITY
    Detachable Collar
    A detachable collar is a separate collar
    piece that can be attached to a
    garment, typically a shirt or blouse, and
    removed or interchanged as desired. It
    provides versatility and allows for
    different collar styles to be achieved
    without needing to change the entire
    garment.
