The number 182,202 is a number written in standard form. This can be written in expanded

The number 182,201 has two periods: thousands and units. Each digit occupies a definite
place in a number called place value. To get the value of a digit, multiply it by its place value.
The digit 1 in the hundred thousand place means 1 x 100,000. Its value is 100,000. The digit
8 in the ten thousands place means 8 x 10,000.its value is 80,000. The digit 2 in the thousands
place means 2 x 1000.its value is 2000. The digit 2 in the hundreds place means 2 x 100.its value is
200. The digit 0 in the tens place means 0 x 10.its value is 0. The digit 1 in the tens place means 1 x
1.its value is 1.

The underlined words in the paragraph are singular and plural nouns.
SINGULAR NOUN names one person, place, or thing.
Examples: trip, reef, home, life, sea.
PLURAL NOUN names more than one person, place or thing.
Examples: parents, hundreds, species, divers, shipwrecks, corals.
Here are some rules in forming the plural of nouns.
1. The general rule is to add an- S -to a singular noun to make it plural.
Chair – Chairs rule – rules
Tree – Trees plant – plants
2. Add – es – to a noun ending in – s, -sh, -ch, -x, or –z to make it plural.
Bus – Buses watch – watches
Buzz – Buzzes bush – bushes ax – axes
3. If the singular noun ends with a consonant + Y, drop y and replace it with an- i- and add – es -.
City – Cities Country – Countries
Baby – Babies Bounty – Bounties
4. Do not drop the – Y – if the y is preceded by a vowel.

5. if the noun ending with a –Y – represents a person or a country, add only – S.

Solid is the states of matter wherein the particles are closely packed together and
arranged in a rigid structure that does not allow much movement. Solid have definite shape
and volume. However, not all solids are hard. Some are soft, chewy, or elastic.
Examples : wood, rock, chairs, and etc.
Liquid is the states of matter wherein the particles are not closely packed together as
those in solid. Liquids have definite volume but no definite shape. They are somewhat free to
move around.
Examples : water, milk, and oil.
Gas is the state of matter wherein the particles are free to move around. Gas have no
definite shape and volume. This is why gases have no definite shape or volume. Oxygen is a
type of gas that our body needs.
Other examples of gas are helium and carbon dioxide.
(Let’s live it) Everything around as is matter. Our natural resources are
examples of matter. They help living things like us to survive and thrive. We should
take care of them.
