Values

The number 182,201 has two periods: thousands and units. Each digit occupies a definite
place in a number called place value. To get the value of a digit, multiply it by its place value.
The digit 1 in the hundred thousand place means 1 x 100,000. Its value is 100,000. The digit
8 in the ten thousands place means 8 x 10,000.its value is 80,000. The digit 2 in the thousands
place means 2 x 1000.its value is 2000. The digit 2 in the hundreds place means 2 x 100.its value is

Read the following paragraph.
My parents are planning a trip to see the Apo Reef. This reef is home to hundreds of colorful sea
species. They exude the fullness of life beneath the sea. Here, divers can also see some shipwrecks with corals
teeming with life.
The underlined words in the paragraph are singular and plural nouns.
SINGULAR NOUN names one person, place, or thing.
Examples: trip, reef, home, life, sea.
PLURAL NOUN names more than one person, place or thing.
Examples: parents, hundreds, species, divers, shipwrecks, corals.
Here are some rules in forming the plural of nouns.
1. The general rule is to add an- S -to a singular noun to make it plural.
Chair – Chairs rule – rules
Tree – Trees plant – plants
2. Add – es – to a noun ending in – s, -sh, -ch, -x, or –z to make it plural.
Bus – Buses watch – watches
Buzz – Buzzes bush – bushes ax – axes
3. If the singular noun ends with a consonant + Y, drop y and replace it with an- i- and add – es -.
City – Cities Country – Countries
Baby – Babies Bounty – Bounties
4. Do not drop the – Y – if the y is preceded by a vowel.
Toy – Toys day – days
Boy – Boys bay- bays
5. if the noun ending with a –Y – represents a person or a country, add only – S.

6. If the singular noun ends with a consonant + O, add – es.

7. Some nouns ending in – F or Fe form their plural by dropping –f or fe and adding – ves.

May plano ka bang magpatakbo ng isang negosyo? Sa iyong palagay, nasa iyo
na baa ang mga katangiang makatutulong sa pagtatatag at pagpapatakbo ng isang
negosyo? Alam moba ang mga katangian ng isang mahusay at matagumpay na
entreprenyur? Kung kulang pa iyong kaalaman, magpatuloy sa pagbabasa at
alamin kung alin ang dapat mo pang taglayin na mga katangian upang magkaroon
ng matagumpay na negosyo.
MAHAHALAGANG TANONG
Ano-ano ang katangian ng isang matagumpay na entreprenyur? Alin sa mga ito ang
taglay mo na?

Pagtalakay:

Mga Pangunahing Group o Cluster sa Katangian ng Entreprenyur


May mga taong walang takot na sumusuong sa panganib na may natural na pagkahilig
sa negosyo. Subalit may hilig man o wala sa isang partikular na negosyo, kailangan pa ring
malaman ang mga pamantayan para sa sariling pagtatasa upang matukoy ang kakayahan sa
pagharap sa hamon ng kompetisyon sa negosyo.
Sa handbook na inilathala ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), o Kagawaran ng
Kalakalan at Industriya, na pinamagatang “Do You Want To Go Into Business?”, binanggit sa
pagsasaliksik ng DTI ang personal na mga katangian ng isang entreprenyur na hahantong sa
tagumpay. Ito ay nakahanay sa tatlong pangunahing grupo o clusters- Pagkamit(achievement),
Pagpaplano (planning), at Kapangyarihan (power).

Grupo ng pagkamit (Achievement cluster)


Ang mga ito ay grupo ng mga katangian na nasa isang tao upang makamit ang ninanais
na mga tunguhin at layunin.
a. Paghahanap ng Oportunidad/Pagkakataon(Opportunity-seeking). Ito ay isang katangian ng
entreprenyur na kayang kumilala ng oportunidad na maaring dumating sa kaniya.
b. Pagtitiyaga (Persistence). Ang determinasyon aymahalaga sa tagumpay ng isang
entreprenyur. Ang isang mahusay na entreprenyur ay may kamalayan sa maaaring mangyari sa
di-inaasahang pagkakataon at sa mga bagay na wala sa kaniyang kontrol, katulad ng pagkalugi
ng negosyo. Dapat na nakatanim sa puso at isip ng isang entreprenyur ang matinding
pagsusumikap.
c. Pagtupad sa Pinagkasunduang Gawain (commitment to work contract). Ang isang
kasunduan ay palaging umiiral sa pagitan ng entrprenyur at kaniyang kliyente.
d. Malasakit para sa kalidad at kahusayan(concern for quality and efficiency). Mahalaga sa
isang entreprenyur na lagging isaalang-alang ang kalidad ng produkto kaysa sa dami nito.
e. Pakikipagsapalaran(Risk-taking). Kayang sumabay sa mga pagbabago sa kaniyang
kapaligiran ang isang mahusay na entreprenyur.kapag may dumating na oportunidad, kaya
niyang gumawa ng nararapat na hakbang.
Grupo ng Pagpaplano(planning cluster)
Ang pagpaplano ay mahalaga sa pagpasok sa kahit anong negosyo.kasama rito ang
maayos na paghahanda at pagsasaliksik sa nga istrarehiyang kinakailangan upang masimulan
ang isang negosyo.
a. Pagtatakda ng tunguhin(goal setting). Ang isang mahusay na entreprenyur ay gumagamit
ng gabay na binubuo ng akronim na SMART sa pagtatakda ng tunguhin at prayoridad sa
negosyo.

isang proseso ng pagpaplano at pasubaybay na batay sa pamamaraang ginagamitan ng agham.
c. Pangangalap ng impormasyon(information-seeking). Anumang impormasyon tungkol sa
negosyo ay napakahalaga para sa isang baguhan pa lamang sa larangang ito.
Grupo ng kapangyarihan(Power cluster)
Ang kapangyarihan ay isang kakayahan ng tao na makaimpluwensiya at magkaroon ng
control sa desisyon ng iba.kasama sa kapangyarihang pangkat(power cluster)ang
panghihimok,tiwala sa sarili, at pakikipagkoneksiyon.

a. Panghihimok (Persuation). Ang paghimok ay isang kakayahan na napakahalaga para sa


isang entreprenyur upang medaling makapagtinda ng produkto o makapag-alok ng serbisyo.
b. Tiwala sa Sarili(Self-confidence). Ang tiwala sa sarili ay lagging nakakukumbinsi sa isang
mahusay na entreprenyur upang magsumikap pa. Para sa bawat mahirap na Gawain, hindi siya
nawawalan ng pag-asa at naniniwala siyang nasa tamang direksiyon siya.
c. Pakikipagkoneksiyon(networking). Ito ay kakayahan na makipagtransaksiyon sa maraming
tao para sa pagpapalawak at pagpapaunlad ng isang nagosyo.

Introduction:

If you look around you, you would notice that


matter comes in different shapes, sizes, texture, and
colors. A piece of wood looks and feels different from a
flowing river, but they are both examples of matter. This
is because matter commonly exist in three states –solid,
liquid, and gas.

Discussion:

Solid is the states of matter wherein the particles are closely packed together and
arranged in a rigid structure that does not allow much movement. Solid have definite shape
and volume. However, not all solids are hard. Some are soft, chewy, or elastic.
Examples : wood, rock, chairs, and etc.
Liquid is the states of matter wherein the particles are not closely packed together as
those in solid. Liquids have definite volume but no definite shape. They are somewhat free to
move around.
Examples : water, milk, and oil.
Gas is the state of matter wherein the particles are free to move around. Gas have no
definite shape and volume. This is why gases have no definite shape or volume. Oxygen is a
type of gas that our body needs.
Other examples of gas are helium and carbon dioxide.

(Let’s live it) Everything around as is matter. Our natural resources are
examples of matter. They help living things like us to survive and thrive. We should
take care of them.
