Initial Task

Direction: Observe the picture. Then, briefly write your observation in the line

provided

JONATHAN EROLON

STEM D 12 ST PEDRO CALUNGSOD

I see in the picture the present or new generation or millenials
generation where gadgets are more important than the bible, where
the mall is more important than the church, where things are more
important than god. very wrong.

Unlocking of Difficulties

Accompaniment – a process of leading others ever closer to God

Evangelization – it involves bringing the Good News into all strata of humanity and through
its influence, transforming human humanity form within and making it new

Vineyard – this is used as a metaphor for the house of Israel or the kingdom of God on
earth; it sometimes refers to the peoples of the world in general.

Generation Z – this is the generation born completely within the primacy of technology in
age of war on terror, and the time of multiculturalism; this generation is considered as the
first true global culture because their characteristics are more uniform across the globe as
they become the most open-minded generation to date.

Activating Prior Knowledge

1. What was the mandate of Jesus prior to His ascension?

Acts 1: 8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you
shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of
the earth.” the apostles or disciples of our lord Jesus, will be the mouth of the world to
know him, share the good news of the lord when he was there before, witness that lord is
real, messiah is real.
2. Are we given the same mandate?
If we compare the old testament and new testament, all of the words on old testament,
was corrected by Jesus in new testament they correct all most the old testament they say
that he was the present send by the father he was now the law, because the law in old
testament is the law or the commandments of god through moises.

3. When do we say that a person is responding to this mandate?

When we see the human or that man how love there fellow human, the center words of the bible is only
love, even they hurt you by words by action but you put love that you revenge that is the man or women
who was responds with value the command

Guide questions for reflection

• What was the mandate of Jesus prior to His ascension?

• Are we given the same mandate?
• When do we say that a person is responding to this mandate?

Direction: Read the bible passage from the gospel according to Saint Matthew 20: 1-7.
The account of St. Matthew tells us that the Church is the vineyard of God where
everybody is invited to work in it. However, the responses will vary and the workers will
be diverse (Emia, 2019).
THE WORKERS IN THE VINEYARD

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to
hire workers for his vineyard”. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them
into his vineyard.
About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace
doing nothing. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you
whatever is right.’ So they went. He went out again about noon and about three in the
afternoon and did the same thing. About five in the afternoon he went out and found still
others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long
doing nothing?’ ‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.

1. What lines in the Gospel that are relatable for us/you as millennials?
Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 — “Young people, enjoy your youth. Be happy while you
are still young. Do what you want to do, and follow your heart's desire. But
remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do. Don't let
anything worry you or cause you pain. You aren't going to be young very long.”

2. Cite ways on how you can influence other young people to serve in His vineyard.

For me is to give good information to the youth give the right manners to the children,
because, they say, "what they see in us is what they will do," so at a young age they should
know what is right, invite them into prays and worship, give a role in the church so that they
can entice them to be young, i will educate them not to be rich, i will educate them to be
happy, so when they grow up he'll know the value of things not the price and be with god
and any situation will come.

Church Teaching
Direction: Read the context from PCP II (650-651) and Christifideles Laici (112). Then,
follow the instruction given below.
THE YOUTH ARE THE HOPE OF THE CHURCH
The Acts and Decrees of the Second Plenary Council of the Philippine (PCP II) gives us the
picture of the young of today.
They are hungry for Christ and His word. They need to be evangelized. Christ must be
proclaimed to them as the Lord, the Savior, the Teacher, and the goal and fulfilment of
their lives. But the youth must become evangelizers themselves. Committed young
people are the best evangelizers of other young people. We should prepare and engage
them in the apostolate (Emia, 2019).
Cf. PCP II 650 – 651
1. Why is Youth considered as the “Hope of the Church”? Illustrate your answer through
a poem. You can use the Church teaching for your reference. Use the space
provided.

Criteria: Originality – 5pts; Content – 10 pts

Praise the youth Give them the space And they will lead the way
A world without youth is a world without a Future, and if the Church
does not take care of youth it is like a house founded on sand.

Our modern world is changing, and everyone is busy

blaming the youth of today
But how can we blame the future, when it was us who made
their world this way.

There’s so many chance to change with youth

Youth has the only one chance to change the future

Church without youth are not called church cause youth is

the key of church to called that church

Now a days shouldn’t be a better

days without the young, and future should not be better presents
without the presents young.

Lecturrete
More than half of the populations in the Church are young people like you who
have not been totally reached by the Church. You are even its most misunderstood
members since you are generally labelled either as “Millennials” or the “Generation Z”.
It is said that young people are drifting away from the Church. You seek a Church
where you can belong to, and where your thirst for God is answered and satisfied. (cf.
PCP II 650 – 651). Your spirituality is different from that of adults, who belong either to
the “baby boomers” or the “Generation X.” (Emia, 2019).

Insights for Integration

Ignacian Core/Related Value: Faith / Strong Faith to God

Social Issues: Technological advancement

Heavy exposure to online gaming and the like

Lesson Across Discipline: English: Communication through Virtual

The youth might engage less to “In person” and “Face-to-face” contact with others due to
more time connecting via smartphones

Faith / Biblical Reflection: 1 Peter 4:10 -11

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards as God’s
varied grace. Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it
be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through
Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

First is to know him, because without him i don’t know were I am now, based on my observation
being a member of the church there is no something that can I feel being guilty, I know already
how to set my limitation on people even to my self, when I am in church i feel also that I’m not
alone even people have a such altitude like bully or they reject you, god is with me and with his
instrument people to help me, one of the things that I learned about that is if they don’t know how
to love you, just put your love first to them to love you even they hate you because someday they
will realize when they see you god honor you because of your faith and trust to him.

Comment: Gretch Morales

Performing rituals, being in a religion, or doing good things in life are just stepping stones
to know God or be closer to Him. Choosing one from the three isn't enough and none of
that stepping stones will save you if you haven't known Jesus. Because Jesus is the only
way, the truth, and the life. Our true Salvator. He is the only way to Heaven, without Him,
our life is incomplete. In conclusion, always choose to believe in God and deeper your faith
in Him no matter what.
