INTRODUCTION
RATIONALE
“Like a spring of pure water, God’s peace in our hearts bring cleansing and refreshment to our mind and
bodies”
Why is it important to know the awareness of utilization of tap water? Does the grade 11 home economics
student at meycauayan national high school need that? Is it safe to use? We get tap water generally comes from
ground water, but some cases, people found out that some other places tap water was contaminated with
chemicals such as pesticide, and chlorine and many more.
Using tap water as primary ingredient for your food soup base offers a lot of benefits, firstly, it’s readily
available and easily accessible. Secondly, tap water is typically treated and safe to consume, utilizing rap water
in your food soup base promotes sustainability by reducing the use of bottled water or any other alternatives -
according to (yetman, 2007) it’s safe to drink tap water from public water system. Tap water that filtered
properly is same quality as bottled water and tap water may give you essential mineral that can’t get on bottled
water.
While utilizing tap water as source for food soup base, may seem convenient. Tap water was often contains
trace amounts of bacteria, chemicals, minerals and potentially harmful contaminants such as chlorine, lead, or
pesticide depending on local quality. These impurities can affect the flavor and aroma to your soup base,
compromising overall quality – (carbonel et,al, 2019) stated to their study that they found health risks with
water dispensers at mapua university Philippines, due to coliform contamination from poor maintenance. Other
sources like tap water and bottles water met standards. Dispenser location and frequency of use contribute to
contamination.

We conduct this study because it’s essential tp be mindful of the source and quality of tap water when using it
as food soup base. Ensure that the water is clean and safe to consume or to use in some various way, and free
from contaminants or pollutants. Prioritize awareness of local water quality reports and use filtered water if
needed. By being conscious about the tap water used in food soup bases, you promote health and safety in your
cooking activities.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
GENERAL PROBLEM: AWARENESS OF UTILIZATION OF TAP WATER AS SOURCE OF

FOOD SOUP BASE FOR COOKING ACTIVITES AT GRADE 11 HOME ECONOMICS STUDENT AT
MEYCAUAYAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-2024.
SPECIFIC PROBLEM
This study sought the following question.
1. How does the quality of tap water can impact the taste of food soup base?
2. What is the potential health risk associated using unfiltered water for cooking food soup bases?
3. Why does you need to measure the safety of utilizing tap water for cooking food soup base?
4. What is the importance knowing the safety measure of tap water for being primary ingredient of food
soup base?
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study will give benefits to the following.

1. HOME ECONOMICS STUDENT – Home economics student will benefit to this research due to our
researching about this topic and they can absorb what they learn about out research such as how safe is
tap water or what are the effects of tap water when you use it as a source pf food soup base.
2. TEACHERS – Teachers will benefit from this research by knowing the effects and safety of tap water
and they can also use this as a topic for their lesson.
3. EAMEN SHOPS – Ramen or restaurant shop owners will benefit from this because of awaring them to
what are the effects or cause of using tap water and knowledge about it, it is ok to use tap water or not.
4. CHEFS - the benefit of chef will gain from this research is costing less than usual when using tap water
and also aware them that noy all tap water is safe to use in their cooking presentation.
5. COMMUNITY – The benefit will community will get from this research is knowledge and awareness
about utilizing tap water instead of buying bottled water, that can affect their environment because of
pollution.
6. LOW INCOME FAMILIES – Low-income families could benefit from this research by picking this
option, in time of crisis pr emergencies, the supply of buyable soup bases will be limited, but with
knowledge of cooking with tap water can be effective for low-income families to continue to prepare a
delicious food soup base.
7. CULINARY STUDENT – Culinary student will gain a lot of information to this research, since they’re
still depend on their parents by supporting them with allowance, they can still be lack of allowance since
being culinary student is quite costly, so learning how to use tap water for cooking soup base can help
them save money.
8. FUTURE RESEACHER – The thing that future researcher will gain from this research is the effects and
awareness to their both lives and cooking activities of using tap water as source of water for making
food soup bases, and also they will find a lot of source of information to this research and they can use it
for their research too.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
SCOPE
This study aims to aware of utilization of tap water as source of food soup base for cooking activities among
grade 11 home economics student. This study sets in Meycauayan National High School el camino road,
barangay camalig, city of meycauayan, Bulacan. The survey of this research will last at 2023-2024. The
objective of this study is what are the importance knowing the safety measure of tap water for being primary
ingredient of food soup base activities. The population of this study specially choose who is studying related on
this research, mainly the grade 11 home economics students.
DELIMINATION
This research will not cover the other studies that not related on awareness of utilization of tap water as source
of food soup base in grade 11 home economics students.
