Meet Alex, a 14-year-old inventor from Seattle. Ever since he was a child, Alex loved taking things apart to see how they worked and
putting them back together. His parents often found him with various gadgets and devices, eager to explore their inner workings. It
was clear from a young age that Alex had a passion for inventing and problem-solving. When he was 10 years old, Alex built his first
robot using old electronic parts he found in his garage. He programmed the robot to perform simple tasks and was amazed at what
he had created. This experience fueled his desire to learn more about electronics and programming. Alex started reading books on
robotics and electronics and watching online tutorials to expand his knowledge. He spent countless hours in his room, tinkering with
circuits and experimenting with different materials. He often visited local maker spaces to collaborate with other young inventors
and exchange ideas. AL the age of 12, Alex designed a solar-powered mobile phone charger, which he entered into a regional science
fair. His invention won first place, and he received recognition from his school and the local community. This success motivated him
to continue inventing and making a positive impact with his creations. Now, at 14 years old, Alex has several inventions under his
belt, including a smart home system that he developed with the help of his father, who is an engineer. He dreams of becoming a
professional inventor and entrepreneur, using his skills to solve real-world problems and make the world a better place.
Meet Alex, a young astronaut who has always dreamed of traveling to space. From a very young age, Alex was fascinated by the stars
and planets. He would spend hours reading books about space exploration and watching documentaries about astronauts. As he
grew older, Alex worked hard in school and studied subjects like physics, mathematics, and engineering. He knew that becoming an
astronaut required a lot of education and training. He also had to be physically fit to handle the challenges of space travel. After
years of dedication and hard work, Alex was selected to be part of a space mission. He was thrilled and excited to finally realize his
dream of going to space. Alex underwent rigorous training to prepare for the mission. He learned how to operate spacecraft, use
special equipment, and conduct scientific experiments in space. The day of the launch arrived, and Alex boarded the spacecraft with
his fellow astronauts. The feeling of anticipation and excitement vas overwhelming as they prepared for liftoff. Once the engines
roared to life, the spacecraft lifted off from the ground, and Alex felt the sensation of being propelled into space. In space, Alex and
his team conducted various experiments and observations. They marveled at the beauty and vastness of the universe. Alex was
particularly interested in studying the effects of micro-gravity on plant growth. He conducted experiments to understand how plants
could be grown in space to support future long-term missions. After spending several weeks in space, Alex and his team safely
returned to Earth. It was an unforgettable experience, and Alex felt grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a historic mission.
He hopes that his journey will inspire other young dreamers to pursue careers in space exploration.

In British Columbia, people have festivals that celebrate the things that make their hometown special. Every year, about 20,000 grey
wWhales swim past the west coast of Vancouver Island. The whales travel from Mexico to the Arctic and back again. The whole trip is
about 16,000 kilometres. Every March, the people who live around the Pacific Rim National Park have a festival to celebrate the
whales' journey. The festival is the Pacific Rim Whale Festival. The whales travel very close to the shore as they swim north. This
allows people to gather together to watch the whales from land and from boats.
On the east coast of Vancouver Island, you can see people moving through the water in a strange type of boat. During the Nanaimo
Bathtub Race, people have a big race in boats made from bathtubs! The city of Nanaimo is home to the oldest and most famous
bathtub boat race in the world. The race started as a silly event in 1967. Today, Nanaimo's World Championship Bathtub Race isa
serious sport that brings racers and visitors from around the world.
Vancouver is home to another famous festival on the water. This is the Dragon Boat Festival. Dragon boat racing started in China
more than 2,000 years ago. It was brought to Vancouver during the World's Fair called Expo 86. The Dragon Boat Festival came back
to Vancouver in 1989 to celebrate the many cultures living together in the city. The festival begins with a ceremony. The ceremony
