Fire fighting tools – FE, Fire Blanket
Container for hydrate – to verify amount and prepare.
Additional PPE: Coverall with dust mask.
Perform general cleaning and suitable for further inspection and removal.
1.2 Fire blanket to be installed at surrounding of area potential spark will fly and ignite any
material within 2-3mtr.
Notes:
Cordon the area and put a standby fire extinguisher.
Unauthorized personnel keep out.
Proper PPE to wear.
1.3 Prior to the opening of the end cap, prepare a small container to intercept the accumulated
wet hydrate at the FSC tube and on the hopper discharge.
Some cleaning might require – slow air blow, light knocking
1.4 Open end cap at entry end of FSC and check condition of the FSC and the entangled piece of
plastic stick whether can cut and the remove it. Otherwise need to open the charging adaptor
cover to cut and remove the entangle stick. Close the butterfly valve upon removal of the
stick.
1.5 Then check the length of FSC exposure whether it is between 300-350mm. If less than
300mm, means it probably has stored energy.
1.6 Proceed to cut the spiral at FSC outlet with angle grinder if the length of exposure is around
300-350mm (Spiral Exposure). ** TRY TO KEEP AS MUCH SPIRAL POSSIBLE FOR
WELDING.
Note:
After cutting at the point 1, check if manageable to remove the u-bolt without cutting
the point 2 as shown. (minimize cutting)
1.7 After removal of the deformed piece, pull out the spiral from FSC bottom inlet.
Note:
May contain wet hydrate upon removal.
1.8 Check the condition of the FSC whether need further assessment for repair.
1.9 Clean the FSC tube in preparation for the re-installation of the screw.
