Introduction
1. Authoritarian Parenting: This style, characterized by strict rules, high demands, and
low warmth, often results in children with low self-esteem, poor social skills, and higher
levels of anxiety.
3. Permissive Parenting: Permissive parents are lenient and indulgent, often avoiding
confrontation and setting few boundaries. While these children may have high self-
esteem, they may also struggle with impulsivity, lack of self-discipline, and poor
academic performance.
Studies have shown that the effects of parenting styles can extend into adulthood,
influencing relationship dynamics, career success, and mental health. However, it's
essential to recognize that the impact of parenting styles can vary based on cultural
factors, individual differences, and other environmental influences.
Understanding the impact of old parenting styles on raising children requires examining
how these approaches persist across generations and adapt to changing societal norms
and values. Additionally, exploring the interplay between old parenting styles and modern
challenges, such as technology use, academic pressure, and social media influence, can
provide valuable insights into their enduring relevance and potential consequences.
According to Deshpande, et.al (2015) inverstigated how parenting styles affected
adolescent's self esteem and found that children perceived parental acceptance attitude
had better self esteem than children who perceived avoidance attitude of parents. Parents
are the first person that will teach and develop our behaviors, communication is the key
in order to build a good relationship

incidence of bullying, aggression, and behavioral problems in children. According to
Berge, et al. (2016) declared that neglectful parenting style was associated with worse
substance use outcomes across all substances.

negative impact on their self-esteem.
