1. GL502MG Manage Tool Interface

GL502MG Manage Tool is used to configure parameters for GL502MG through GL502M-CABLE. It
is easy for developers to configure GL502MG with it for the interface is simple and functional. All
commands can also be sent via SMS or network.
The administrators can also use the Manage Tool to configure GL502MG before delivery to its
customers. But it is recommended for the customers to establish a backend server and to control
GL502MG via SMS or network. Please refer to “GL502MG @Track Air Interface Protocol” for
details.

Before using the Manage Tool, please find “PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_Vxxxx” in developer
suite and install the driver firstly. After that a new COM port will be found in your computer, and

then please follow the steps below:

(1) Power on GL502MG.

(2) Connect GL502MG to PC with GL502M-CABLE (Type-C)

(3) Run “Queclink GL502M_Manage_Tool_Vx.xx.exe”.

Set menu contains “Option”.

[Option]: It is used to save the serial port log for the engineer to analyze when problems occur.

Help menu contains the options of “About”.

[About]: The following window will pop up upon selecting “About”.

“Manage Tool” indicates the version of the Manage Tool.
“Firmware Version” indicates the firmware version of the device.

“Hardware Version” indicates the hardware version of the device.
“Protocol Version” indicates the protocol version that the Manage Tool conforms to.
“Device Name” indicates the name of the device.

Toolbar contains “COM Wizard”, “Operation Log”, “Read All from Device”, “Send All to Device”,
“Load from Local”, “Save to Local”, and “Connect/Disconnect to COM” as shown below.

[COM Wizard]: It is used to set the COM information and password. Please refer to Chapter 1.2

[Operation Log]: It is used to display/hide the operation log.
[Read All from Device]: It is used to read all commands.

[Send All to Device]: It is used to write all commands.

[Save to Local]: It is used to save all configurations to file.

[Connect/Disconnect to COM]: It is used to connect/disconnect COM manually.

The Manage Tool is developed based on the @Track Air Interface Protocol. Please refer to
“GL502MG @Track Air Interface Protocol” for details.

The following shows a general procedure to configure GL502MG with the Manage Tool.

Step 1: Select a Command

Select a command in Command Browser Space. After that, the parameters of the function will be
shown in Command Operation Space.
Step 2: Create Command Automatically
The to-be-sent command message will be generated based on the inputs. Please note that the
command message can also be sent to GL502MG via SMS or network.
Step 3: Read Command from the Device
Read the parameters from GL502MG and modify them as needed.
Step 4: Settings Parameters

Set parameters in Command Operation Space. Please refer to “GL502MG @Track Air Interface
Protocol” for the meaning of each parameter.
Step 5: Send a Command to the Device
Click the “Send” button to download the parameters of this command to GL502MG.
Note:
The parameters of GTSRI and GTBSI will also be changed when the parameters of GTQSS are
changed.

1.6. Load from Local

Load the local configuration file and execute it. Select “Load from Local”, and then select the

needed configuration file.

Select “Save to Local” and choose a folder, type in the name of the configuration file, and then

2. Device Upgrade
Connect the device to the PC by GL502M-CABLE first. Open the tool and then select the correct
COM port. Click “Try to Connect”. Click “OK” when “Success” is displayed to enter the setting
interface.

1) Click “Select”, select the file for upgrade (“.enc” file format).
2) Click “Start”, then the interface of upgrade process will show as below:
