STUDENT/GRADUATE PORTAL
INTRODUCTION
This guide assumes you have already logged in to the CSM platform and have setup
your profile.
If not, please refer to the document "Student Quick Guide" for guidance.
CV is an important tool in your job search and is required for job applications.
Whenever you add a new CV, it must be reviewed and approved by a Career
Advisor.
This guide walks you through the three options, the CV review and approval
process, and how to access additional learning resources.
Once you have confirmed the file to upload, its name will appear on the form.
CSM will convert file uploaded to PDF format to allow others to view it.
Once the CV has been successfully uploaded and converted, CSM will return you to
the list of your documents.
The new CV document will now appear in the list with the tag PENDING .
You can always click CV document label in the list to make any modifications.
i If you have already created or uploaded a CV, the Résumé area will show the document set as your
default. In this case, hover with the mouse over the document name until you see the pen icon, then
click it to unveil the UPLOAD RESUME and GENERATE RESUME options
CSM provides the CV Builder tool to create resumes and cover letters within the
system.
1. Click Documents in the navigation menu list on the right.
i You will see “No Records Found” if you do not have any existing CV documents previously built
with the tool.
You can click Outlines to check other CV Templates that may be available.
The template’s outline will be displayed below the template title. The outline
contains sections of CV such as Education and Work Experience.
If the template has a sample preview available, click View Sample to view an
example document of that template.
i If you have any content saved in your current section layout, all of it will be lost if you select a different
section layout. It is recommended you customize your sections and add any additional sections using
the customization tool, if you do not want to lose your content.
i If selected template does not allow edits, section titles will be read-only with an alert, “This section
layout is locked, so you cannot customize this”.
The sections will automatically populate information from your profile, although
i Editing this information within the document will not affect the data in your Profile. If you wish to
make these changes permanent, make sure to edit the Profile instead.
To add an additional record, hover your mouse over the desired section to view the
"Add Additional Education" or "Add Additional Experience" button. Click the
button to open a blank education or experience record.
You can edit section data by hovering over the entry to highlight it.
Once highlighted, click on the section. Form for that section will open and be
editable.
While editing a section, click Examples to view categories in a drop list. Click a
category to view a list of examples for that category. Select an example and it will
be added to the text area box.
i Remember to click Save button within each section to confirm and save edits.
Click Customize Style to personalize CV layout. For example, you can choose to
hide or show your photo in the CV.
After entering and saving content into sections, click Select Layout button to view
style thumbnails.
Select a thumbnail and the system will refresh so that the document takes on the
selected style in a preview format.
If enabled, the QR Code Option allows you to add a QR Code to the CV document.
