EXPLAIN
F. Developing The Five Sense Organs
Mastery
(Leads to 1. Eyes:
formative Our eyes are responsible for our sense of sight. They detect light and convert it
assessment) into electrical signals that our brain interprets as images. The eyes have
different parts that work together to achieve this, such as the cornea, iris, lens,
and retina. We can see different colors, shapes, and sizes thanks to the eyes'
remarkable abilities.

2. Ears:
Our ears allow us to hear sounds and detect vibrations. They consist of three
main parts - the outer ear, middle ear, and inner ear. The outer ear collects
sound waves, which then travel through the ear canal to the eardrum. The
middle ear amplifies the sound vibrations and directs them to the inner ear
where they are converted into electrical signals that our brain understands as
sound.
3. Nose:
Our sense of smell is made possible by our nose. The nose contains special
cells called olfactory receptors that detect various scents and send signals to
the brain. When we breathe in, tiny particles enter our nose, stimulating these
receptors. This allows us to differentiate between different smells, from
pleasant fragrances to warning signs like smoke or spoiled food.

4. Tongue:
The tongue is responsible for our sense of taste. It contains taste buds that
detect different flavors: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. These taste buds
send signals to our brain, which helps us identify the taste of various foods and
beverages. The combination of taste and smell enhances our overall
perception of flavors.

5. Skin:
Our skin is our largest sense organ, covering our entire body. It has numerous
receptors that allow us to sense touch, temperature, pressure, pain, and even
changes in texture. The different sensory receptors in our skin send signals to
the brain, enabling us to feel sensations like heat, cold, pressure, and pain. Our
skin also helps protect us from harmful elements in the environment.
