IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction
1. PRAYER
2. ENERGIZER
3. Review
Solve for n. Write your answer in your notebook.
1. 4 ÷ 80 = n
2. 31 ÷ 83 = n
3. 7 ÷ 14 = n
4. 42 ÷ 52 = n
5. 11 ÷ 19 = n

B. Development Motivational Video

The teacher will play a motivational video about “COMPARING”
Values Integration
(https://youtu.be/jrabuVhrfTk)
What was the video all about?
Answers: Its all about comparing, about yourself and about what you think of
others.
(The teacher will give the definition of Ratio)
Ratio
A ratio is the comparison of two or more quantities.

(the teacher will ask learners what ratio can he/she give in the given
motivational video?)

Answer: 1:1 YOU VERSUS YOU (YOU being better yesterday to

YOU than last week, last month and last year)

Answer: 1:2:3:4:1 YOU and other person ( You will never win if you
have your eyes on another person, You win your race by focusing on
YOUR OWN finish line)

Presentations
Araling Panlipunan The teacher will show different kind of flags and its population then
Integration asked some questions for the learners to easy compare the populations of the
said countries in different ways.
CURRENT POPULATION:
CHINA - The current population of China in 2021 is 1,444,216,107
JAPAN - The current population of Japan in 2021 is 126,050,804
PHILIPPINES - The current population of Philippines in 2021 is
111,046,913
SINGAPORE - The current population of Singapore is 5,879,162 as of
Tuesday, February 16, 2021
1. How will you compare the population of China to Philippines?
2. How about the population of the Japan to Singapore?

We can write the comparison of China’s population to the Philippine

population in different ways.
1) 1,444,216,107 to 111,046,913 (ordered pair)
Exercising the reading 2) 1,439,323,776 : 109,581,078 (we read the symbol/colon as “is to”)
skills of the learners 3) 1,439,323,776 (in fraction)
109,581,078

The number being compared is followed by the number to which it is

compared to. We also call this an ordered pair of numbers. A ratio can be
written using colon between two numbers or in fraction form, but a ratio is
not a fraction. A rate is a ratio that compares two measurements.

Learning Task 1
Based on the figures below, answer the given questions. Write your
answers in your notebook.
1. What is the ratio of keys to seeds?
ICT Integration (Using 2. What is the ratio of clocks to seeds?
Powerpoint) 3. What is the ratio of keys to clocks?
4. What is the ratio of seeds to keys?
5. What is the ratio of keys to all items?

C. Engagement Learning Task 2

Write what is asked in the given. Write your answers in your answer
ICT Integration sheets or in the given app. (Using Kahoot App for those learners who has
mobile data or internet provider, and answer sheets for those who don’t
have)
1. Cups to Saucers (In colon form) _________

2. Spoons to Forks (In fraction form)

3. Pairs of shoes to Pairs of socks (In fraction form and in colon form)

In the given activity,

The number being compared is followed by the
number to which it is compared to. We also call this an
ordered pair of numbers. A ratio can be written using colon
Arts Integration between two numbers or in fraction form, but a ratio is not a
fraction. A rate is a ratio that compares two measurements.

Learning Task 3 (do it with partner)

Draw what is asked at the back of the paper then find your partner and explain
your work with your partner:
1. 3:4
2. 8:2
3. 10:5
4. 1:6
5. 9:7

Exercise your comprehension Additional Activities

skills Learning Task 4: Answer the given questions. Write your answers in your
(HOTS) notebook.

1. What is the ratio of the number of vowels to the number of consonants in

the English Alphabet? Answer: 5:21(26 english alphabets)
2. What is the ratio of the number of men to the number of women in the roster
of Philippine Presidents? Answer: 14:2
3. What is the ratio of the number of days in a week to number of weeks in one
month? Answer: 7:4
4. What is the ratio of number of seconds in a minute to seconds in an hour?
Answer: 60:3600
5. What is the ratio of the number of months in a year to months in a decade?
Answer: 12:120 (1year is equivalent to 10 decade)

D. Assimilation Generalization (Let us see if you still remember our discussion)

1. How do we define ratio?
> A ratio is the comparison of two or more quantities.

2. What is the importance of using ratio?

> Ratios are used to compare values. They tell us how much of one thing
there is compared to another. For example, ratios can be used to compare
the number of girl puppies to boy puppies that were born.

3. What are the three different ways of ratio?

> In an ordered pair, in colon and in fraction.

Assignment:
Use the sets of pictures to answer the given questions.
