Section 5: Overview:

In this section, you are going to learn what a Niche is. I'll then be walking you through the
differences between what we call Niche Websites and Authority Websites. There is a very
distinct difference between the two and it's very important you understand which type you want
to build because it'll have a big impact on how long it takes you to get results. And also how
much money you could make.

After that, I'll then be walking you through the four strategies I use to find affiliate marketing
niches. However, finding a niche is just one piece of the jigsaw. You also need to know how to
validate that niche, to determine if it's one you should actually be moving forward with. As if you
end up proceeding with the wrong niche, you're going to end up wasting a lot of time and a lot of
money as well.

And what I also want to run through in this section is finding the best niche, the reality about that
is that a lot of people have this misconception of, there's one perfect niche, and this niche does
not work well. I'm going to go through the reality of that and also explain to you why you should
not be going online in Facebook groups and asking people what is the best niche because in a
nutshell, no one is going to tell you. But I'll cover all of that in a lot of detail in that video. So let's
get started.

Section 5: What Is A Niche:

What is a niche? A niche is essentially a specific topic, and a niche is arguably one of the most
important factors in affiliate marketing, as it essentially determines two really important things.
Which is number one, the difficulty of ranking in Google, and number two, the amount of money
you can make.

For example, if you decide to make an affiliate marketing website in the weight loss niche, then
what you need to do is make sure that your website is ranking highly on Google to generate
some organic traffic, which is going to lead to affiliate sales. However, if you go over to Google
and carry out a search for something like weight loss products, a keyword related to the weight
loss industry if you scroll down below all the ads at the top, we know these are ads, as it says
add right here in the top left-hand corner, you can see in position one we have a website called
Holland & Barrett, then we've got Healthline, Boots.com, and Lloyd's Pharmacy, Webmd.com.
These are massive, massive websites.

What we actually call these websites is authority websites. The reason why we call these
authority websites is that these websites already have authority over Google. Google already
trusts these websites, and they've got a lot of SEO power. So if you are trying to rank your
affiliate website for weight-loss products, you are going to have a very difficult time ranking for
these types of keywords. This is why you really want to make sure you spend enough time
determining what niche you want to target. As if you did go ahead and build out a whole website
on weight loss products, then nine times out of 10, you are not going to see that much success.

To give this some more context, the very first affiliate site I actually made was in the tech niche,
and I was promoting affiliate links for wireless routers, or routers, depending on where you live
in the world. So some of the keywords I was targeting on my website were the best wireless
router, wireless router reviews, all the typical affiliate marketing keywords. And this website
ended up peaking at $3,000 per month, which wasn't too bad. However, later on in my affiliate
marketing journey, I started to refine my processes, especially on niche selection. And I made
another affiliate site in a completely different niche, which was actually studio monitors. So once
again, the keywords were pretty much the same. Best studio monitors, studio monitor reviews.
However, this site peaked at $5,000 per month, and the difficulty in ranking for best studio
monitors in comparison to best wireless routes was pretty much equal.

So I was putting in the same amount of effort in both sites, yet one site was making me more
money, and the primary reason for that was because of the niche I was targeting. So as you can
see, the niche selection process is very, very important when determining the difficulty of
ranking in Google, and the amount of money you can make. But in a nutshell, a niche is
essentially a specific topic.

So now you know what a niche is. I'll see you in the next video, where I'll be walking you through
the two different types of sites you can build when it comes to affiliate marketing. And then after
that, I'll be showing you how you can find your very own profitable, low-competition niche. I'll see
you there.

Section 5: Niche Websites vs Authority Websites:

In the last video, we looked at what a niche is. In this one, I want to go a little bit deeper and
show you the two different types of websites you can have when it comes to affiliate marketing
as it's really, really important to understand this from the start to ensure you give yourself the
best chances of success when it comes to affiliate marketing.

What are these different types of sites you talk about, Josh? Well, the first one is literally what
we call niche sites, so a niche site is a website that focuses on a specific topic as we just
covered in the previous video. Niche websites are very, very specific and they only focus on a
specific set of keywords or a solution to a specific problem. Note how many times I am saying
the word specifically because that is what niche sites are literally all about, websites on specific
topics.

What are the pros and cons of niche sites? Well, some of the pros of niche sites is that they are
cheaper to build. Now, when I say cheaper, this is in comparison to authority websites, as we're
going to cover in the next slide. As you are only building out a website on a specific topic, you
don't have to produce as much content in comparison to an authority website. As you have less
content, you're going to have less pages on your website so it's going to result in you building
less backlinks as well, which is, of course, going to reduce the overall cost.

The second pro of a niche site is that they're also quicker to build. Going back to my first point,
as you are only writing content for a specific topic, you don't have that many pages to build so
it's also a lot quicker to go ahead and build a niche website. Again, I don't want to make it sound
like this is very quick, you can do it in one hour. That definitely is not the case, but it's quicker
when you compare it to an authority website.

The third benefit of a niche site is that it's actually easier to rank as well. You see when it comes
to SEO, if Google does not know what your website is about, then it won't rank you for relevant
search terms, meaning you will get no traffic. However, when you create a niche site, you are
literally telling Google that your whole website is just about a specific topic. Google will have no
confusion whatsoever about what your website is about and will be more likely to return your
website to users when carrying out a search for anything related to your topic. This whole
concept is called relevancy. Your website needs to be niche relevant to rank for niche-relevant
terms.
To give this some more context, I always like to go a little bit above and beyond just to make
sure everyone fully understands what I'm saying in these lectures, if you are lucky enough to
own the website weightlosspillreviews.com, then that will be classified as a niche website. Why?
Because that's a pretty specific niche. Not only is your website related to weight loss, but it's
also actually about a specific product in the weight loss niche, weight loss pills.

It's very, very clear to Google what your website is about. Your website is about weight loss pill
reviews, and Google is able to understand this. Whenever a user goes onto Google and carries
out a search for anything related to weight loss pill reviews, your website is more likely to be
returned to the user. Of course, that is going to relate in free traffic to your website. However, we
can actually go a step further if we want and create an even more niched-down website, such
as bestphenpills.com.

For clarity, Phen is a type of weight loss pill so this is even more niche as not only is the site
about weight loss pills, it's only about one specific type of weight loss pill. Now you don't have to
niche down this much. You can just stick with the first level of niche downness if that's even a
word, but pretty much the main takeaway here is that a niche site is focused on a specific topic.

They don't talk about anything else outside of the main niche. For example, you would not see
this same website, weightlosspillreviews.com, talking about the best laptops under $500, for
example, as that is a completely different niche.

What are the cons of a niche website? Well, a niche website, as we just covered, is going to be
difficult to expand. If you do intend on growing your website in the future, and you want to
branch out and write content for other niches, then you can not really do this with a niche
website. Well, I mean, yes, you can publish that content on the best laptops under $500, but it's
going to be hard to convince Google that your website is the best resource for that content as
you don't really have any other content on your website about laptops.

In addition to that, you've already just told Google that your whole website is about weight loss
pill reviews. When it comes to expansion, niche sites definitely have their limitations.

Another con of a niche site is that it puts more strain on niche research. Now, when I say niche
research, I'm pretty much referring to the whole process you follow to find a profitable niche. You
are literally putting all your eggs in one basket when you create a niche website as if that niche
does not perform as well as you hoped, then you pretty much would've wasted all of your time
building out that website and you don't have the opportunity to expand into another niche either.
However, don't worry too much about this. It's not really a con if you follow the process and the
strategy which I'm going to show you when it comes to finding profitable niches.

The third and final con of a niche website is that you have a capped income, so it kind of relates
back to the first con of difficulty to expanding. If you end up creating your niche website, you've
covered all the content, you're ranking really, really high on Google for all of your main terms,
and you're making good money. If you want to grow the income of this site further, then you
pretty much can't do that. If you already covered the whole topic and you're already ranking
high, then your income is going to be capped. Whereas with an authority website, that is not the
case. However, again, I wouldn't even see this as too much of a con as you can just literally go
out there and build another niche website. Again, it all comes down to what suits you.

That is what a niche website is. Let's take a look at what the second type of website is. The
second type of website is called authority sites. Authority sites focus on a high level of
categorization and are broader. Here is an example of an authority website. It's this website right
here called expertreviews.co.uk. It's actually a really good website, but as you can see, they
have categories on this website for lots of different topics. They have a home and garden here
at the top, baby and kids, health and beauty, sports and leisure, travel, and just general best
buys. Pretty much you can see this website does not focus on one particular topic. It writes
content for lots of different topics. This is pretty much the opposite of a niche website and is
what we call an authority website.

What are the pros of authority websites? Well, the number one benefit of having an authority
website is that it's easier to diversify and expand. As we just saw on that website of expert
reviews, if you find out one particular topic or niche is not doing that well for you, you can
literally go ahead and create a whole nother topic on your website and then start to write content
and generate commissions for that topic.

The second benefit of authority websites is that, of course, it's easier to diversify and go into
different topics on your same website, you have higher income potential. The earning potential
of your website is simply not limited to that one niche. You can go out there and write content for
other niches too. Now let's take a look at the flip side and look at the cons of authority websites.
The first con is that they're more expensive to build. As you are not just writing content for one
specific topic, you may be writing content for four or five different topics, which means you need
more content, more pages to build, and more time formatting, and uploading the content on your
website. As you have more pages, it also means you have more pages to build backlinks to,
which is going to have a drastic impact on the amount of money you need to invest to get this
site doing really well.

The second con of authority websites is, of course, as you are writing content in multiple topics,
it's going to take you a lot longer and require more of your time to build out the website.

The third con of authority websites is that they are also harder to rank. If you remember what I
said earlier about when Google knows what your website is about, that is when it will return your
website to users. That's the concept of topical relevancy I ran through earlier. Pretty much as
you are writing content in multiple niches, Google is going to be a little bit confused as to what
your website is about.

After a time when you've written lots of content on your website, you've done all the SEO
foundation work, you built lots and lots of backlinks, then Google will, of course, understand
what your website is about, but it's going to take you a lot, a lot longer in comparison to if you
had a niche website. Please do bear that in mind.

The fourth con of authority sites is that you have all your eggs in one basket. Now, sometimes
your site will have a sudden decrease in rankings, and you'll literally go from generating
thousands of visitors a month to literally just a few hundred. Now that could be due to a Google
algorithm update. If that does happen and you have an authority website, which is pretty much
the main source of your income, then all your eggs are in one basket and you can experience a
massive decline in your website's affiliate revenue.

However, if you had a niche website, for example, and the same thing happened, you can go
out there and build another niche website and rank a lot quicker than the time it would take you
to generate the same results you had for your first original authority site. Again, just to clarify,
and to give more context, an example of an authority website is expertreviews.co.uk.
That are the two different types of sites you can have, so what is my recommendation that you
focus on? I recommend you focus on building niche websites, especially if you are a beginner.
Of course, the income is only going to be capped if you build one website. You can build
multiple websites in different niches if you want. You can diversify your affiliate income very
easily by having two different sites in two different niches and, of course, that stops you from
having all your eggs in one basket.

The great thing about going for this option of niche websites as well is that if you want to offload
one, maybe you no longer find it interesting or you just have no interest in the website, you can
literally go ahead and sell that one specific niche website whilst retaining your other niche
websites. Instead of selling your whole portfolio, which you would have to do if you had an
authority site, you can just sell any site in particular out of your niche website portfolio. Niche
websites are definitely the best way to go, for sure.

However, of course, this is just my personal recommendation. You are free to do whatever you
feel is best for you and suits your specific needs. That's it for this one, and I'll see you in the next
one.

Section 5: 4 Strategies To Find Affiliate Marketing Niches:

In this video, we are going to look at how you can find niches to target. This is pretty much part
one of the process which is to compile a list of niches that you think are good to target and then
in part two and part three which are coming up after this video, I'll show you how you can
validate these niches so you know which ones you should be spending your time on and which
ones are a complete waste of time and ones you want to avoid. However, before we dive into
the four strategies, I want to first run through things that you should avoid when looking for
potential niches to target. As if you know what to avoid from the start then that will save you a lot
of time as trust me, I figured it out the hard way. But of course, you can avoid all the pitfalls I
made which is why you are watching this course.

Now, I want to fast-track the time it takes for you to see success over the average affiliate
marketer, who is pretty much making it up as they go along. So what should you avoid in
niches? Well, there are four critical things. The first thing you want to avoid is niches that require
frequent updates. Now, this could be niches such as a video games niche, unless you really
love that niche and you don't mind creating new content all the time. But as you're probably,
already aware, there are always new video games coming out, new cheats, new codes, new
updates. If you have an affiliate site in that niche, you are going to need to be on top of that
niche to make sure your website always provides the latest and the best information. The
second type of niche you want to avoid is going to be seasonal niches.

Now, these are niches that only make you money when it's that current season. To give you an
example, I recently did some research on a niche to go for my new affiliate website and I was
researching the niche of lawnmowers, the things you used to cut your grass. Now, that sounded
like a really good niche, the numbers all made sense, it was easy to rank on Google as well.
However, I literally realized right at the end that is a seasonal niche which means the search
volume only happens in the months coming up to summer when people actually, want to cut the
grass. For the rest of the year, the graph is completely flat in terms of search volume. Now, don't
worry too much about all of this as I'm going to run through all of this in the next video but pretty
much you want to avoid seasonal niches.

You want to go for niches that are going to make you money consistently every single month of
the year. The third type of niche you want to avoid is niches you have no interest in. Now, this
one isn't set in stone as I do know a lot of people that are building websites in niches, they have
completely zero interest in because the niches have the potential to make them a lot of money.
So if you do not mind writing content or researching the topic and you have no interest in it, then
of course, you can go ahead and do that. But as a general rule of thumb especially, if you are a
beginner, if you are creating a niche on a topic that you have an interest in, it's going to make
the whole process way easier and a lot more enjoyable. And you're also way less likely to quit
halfway through the process as well.

The full thing you want to avoid is products you can pick up and buy in person. And the reason
for this is because if someone can very easily leave their home and go to a local shop to see the
product that you are reviewing on your website then that is not a good thing as why would they
even check your website for reviews to learn about that product? They can literally, go five
minutes down the road and find out for themselves firsthand. Of course, some people are
always going to carry out a search on Google to find the information they are after. But as a
general rule of thumb, again, you want to avoid those types of niches. As it can have a negative
impact on the amount of money you're going to make. So now we've covered the four things you
should avoid.

Let me go through the four strategies on where you should look when it comes to finding affiliate
niches. So the first one isn't really a place to be looking but it's more of a strategy in itself and is
considered your interest. And the reason I say this, as it relates to my other point when it comes
to avoiding niches that you have no interest in. If you create a website on something you are
interested in and it actually, fascinates you then you are more likely to stick with that topic. And
the way to brainstorm this comes down to three different parts is number one, ask yourself, what
do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I personally like to do a lot of outdoor activities and go to
the gym in my spare time. Now, when it comes to breaking down those topics, you can then ask
yourself, "Well, what products could I sell that are related to those niches, gym and outdoors?"

Well, if it's outdoors, I could do tents, backpacks, and hiking boots. If it's related to the gym then
I could go for maybe gym equipment, dumbbells, barbells, gym clothing, gym supplements and
so on. So it's all about brainstorming. A second question you can ask yourself is, what interest
or fascinates you? Again, exactly the same methodology as the first question, write down a list
of things which interest and fascinate you then start to do a bit of brainstorming on, are they
potential niches? The third question you can ask yourself is what are you passionate about?
Again, this can relate to the first question but you want to consider your interest and compile a
list of them. So where do you compile this list? I hear you ask. Well, I have this Google sheet I
use all the time. It's called affiliate marketing niche rating.

Don't worry about column B onwards, I'm going to run through this later on in the video. But the
first column A where it says niche is where you go ahead and compile a list of all of the niches
that you may want to target. For example, I'll just go ahead and put in outdoor tents for now. So
that's pretty much the first strategy. The second strategy which is personally my favorite strategy
is to reverse engineer website marketplaces. This is my favorite because I'm a little bit lazy
although I like to call it efficient pretty much this process involves you going onto websites that
sell websites and then looking at what websites are for sale. My free favorite website
marketplaces out there are flippa.com, empireflippers.com and Feinternational.com.

So let me show you exactly how this works as I don't just want to go over the theory. I want to
also give you a practical walkthrough so you know exactly how it works. So let's head over to
my Google browser I'm currently on flippa.com which is the first website I had listed. And as you
can see, is the number one marketplace to buy and sell blogs. This will keep changing,
eCommerce stores, and affiliate sites. So again, this is pretty much a website marketplace that
sells a ton of digital assets. So all we're going to do is carry out a search for Amazon affiliates
and then carry out a search. And what Flippa is going to do, it's going to return all the websites
related to Amazon affiliates.

So what I always like to do is go to revenue-generating and then untick, no, as I only want to
see websites that are actually, making money. So you can see you've got 126 results in total.
That is a lot of websites to go through. So Flippa actually, gives you a lot of information, it gives
you the website name, the type of business and the industry it operates in, how the website is
actually monetized, how old the website is and how much net profit that website is making every
month. And it also has a price here on the right as well, if you are interested in purchasing that
website. So we can see the first website, Web Completa is created in WordPress with the Divi
theme, this website integrates successful online... Probably, not a good fit for us so what I like to
do is literally, just scroll down here and look at any that catch my eye.

We've got two right here, it's actually, 150,000 pounds they're asking for which is a lot of money.
You can see the website is making just under $1,400 per month in profit. It's monetized via
Amazon and you can see it's duvetadvisor and pillowadvisor. This one could potentially, be very
interesting so what I'm going to do is actually, open this up in another tab. And what it's going to
do is open up the dedicated listing page for this website. So if you've got duvetadvisor and
pillowadvisor, you can click this link to have a look at the website. And as you can see, it is
pretty much an affiliate website, all about duvets. I did not even know this was such a big topic.
If we go to duvet reviews, reviews by duvet type, we go for worn silk... Well, it's actually, really
well built.

If we scroll down, it doesn't really matter, we click anyone just to get an idea on what's actually,
going on here. Luxury New Zealand wears duvet reviews. So this must be the keyword, the
website is targeting. You can see it's reviewed by Charlotte. They've got a link to buy it here.
Now, if you look at this bottom left-hand corner right here where my mouse is, I'm going to hover
over this button and if you see that link awin1.com. So you can see this website is actually,
monetizing through Awin as well which if you remember was an affiliate marketing program that
I ran through earlier on the course. So this is a box standard example of a really niche-specific
affiliate website. It's an affiliate website just dedicated to duvets and if we go back to the Flippa
listing, you can see is making almost $1,400 per month. That is a good amount of money for
talking about duvets.

So I'm definitely, going to go ahead and shortlist this niche idea as it potentially could be a really
good one for us. So as it's about duvets, I'm literally going to go back to the niche and I'll just
type in best duvets. That's pretty much the niche or the niche could be duvets it doesn't really
matter. The main idea is just to get niches up here in total. So let's go back to Flippa and see
what other ones we have. We've got Firestick TV. Okay. 10,000 pounds they want for that.
Nerdknowbetter, 75,000, review site for tech gadgets. So it's quite broad it's about tech gadgets.
I like to go a bit more niche than that. If you've got a Survival website, she is quite interesting.
It's only making $145 a month but that does not mean the niche is not good.

That could literally, mean this website has not done SEO that well and it's struggling to get
visibility so it's not generating that many sales. So again, we can then open this up in another
tab, find out more information about the website even go ahead and visit the site and get an
idea at what type of content this site is put out. So we've got the gear, outdoors, so I can let you
go back to here and just put in survival that could be another good niche for us. So some of the
keywords we could target for this website I guess, if we go back to it, if we go outdoors, let's
have a look at what content they're putting out. We can see the article right here for the best
survival shovels. So that could even be a potential keyword. I think, for now, I'll just leave it as
survival and I'll do a bit more research later on when I'm actually, validating that niche.

So as you can see, we found a couple of niches in literally, just a couple of minutes that are
making good money on the flipper and are potentially niches that we can target as well. Now,
there's no limit on how many pages you should go down to. Here's another niche, recliner guide.
It's a whole website about chairs that recline four years old, it's actually, monetized through
accents but there's no reason why it can't be monetized through Amazon affiliate links as in
linking to these reclining chairs on Amazon or any other affiliate program of that matter. And you
can see it's generating just under $600 per month and the person is asking for $18,000. So you
can literally, come into Flippa and go through all of these pages and find lots of niches that may
interest you. Now, it's exactly the same process for the other two websites, Empireflippers and
Feinternational.

Although, the bottom two are not going to provide you with as much information and they're
typically going to ask you to put down a deposit if you want to get that information. So if you are
a beginner, I recommend sticking to the first website, flippa.com. These are more for advanced
affiliate marketers. But pretty much that is a second strategy and as I said, it's one of my
favorites. The third strategy is what we call using affiliate networks so just as I ran through
earlier on in the course, you can go onto these affiliate network platforms, look at all the offers
they have listed and which ones are performing the best and then shortlist those as potential
niches you want to target. So of course, you'll already know this as we've gone through this
already but some popular affiliate networks could be clickbank.com, JVZoo, Amazon, et cetera.
Any affiliate network program that you are signed up to, you can literally, go over to the website.

So I already have the marketplace open for Clickbank, we can just scroll down to any of these
categories such as home and garden, for example, let's give that a click and we can now see all
of these best-selling offers for home and garden. We can filter this by rank, the gravity which we
ran through already in the Click Bank video, the occurring dollar per bill, any metric which you
feel was a good fit for you. And you can simply come away and get some ideas on niches that
could potentially be a good fit for you. So again, we've got Ted's Woodwork, let's open up this.
What is this? Announcing the world's largest collection of 16,000 wood plans. So again, a niche
could be wood plans so let's go ahead and add that to our list as well, wood plans. It's the same
process.
Go back to the marketplace, shortlist niches, you think are a good fit and then move on to
another strategy. So the fourth and final strategy I recommend you can use to find niches for
affiliate marketing is to simply get creative. So this would involve you brainstorming products or
niches that you think could do well. For example, my niche site that I created for studio
monitors, that affiliate site actually, came to me in a general conversation with one of my friends
who is actually, a singer. So they were literally, telling me that they want to buy some new studio
monitors as their current KRKs are broken. And I was like, "Oh, studio monitors. That could be a
good idea for affiliate marketing." I went away and did some research. And at the time it was a
feasible niche so I went away and made my site and it ended up doing really well.

So you always need to be in the mindset of looking for a niche and always thinking of niches
that you can target. Now, remember the main aim in this initial step is to literally, compile a list of
niches. Ideally, you want to list 10 niches because as you can imagine, not all of these are going
to be a good fit. Some of them are going to be too competitive to go for. So go ahead and follow
the process I've just shown you. Compile a list of niches and then I'll see you in the next few
videos. We're going to go through is the process of validating these niches. I'll see you there.

Section 5: Niche Validation - High-Level Overview:

Hopefully, by this point, you've already compiled a list of niches, which you are interested in and
you think may be a good fit to target. Well in this video, we are going to look at how you can
validate those niches to determine which is the best one out of the ones you have listed and
which is the one you should move forward with. As affiliate marketers, we want to base all our
decisions on data and never guess or go with our gut feeling. As remember, this is a business
after all so it needs to make business and financial sense.

So what I'm going to do is go through the three-step proven process that I use to determine
which niche is going to be the best to target. Now, just as a note of warning, I am going to be
viewing of these niches based on generating sales via my website, ranking high on Google. So
using the traffic source of SEO, pretty much.

If you do not plan on using SEO as your marketing technique, maybe you are planning to just
promote your food at links on social media, then of course, some part of this process will not
apply, but I still recommend you give it a watch as we help you understand the core things we
look at and take into consideration when determining the best niche to move forward with. And
just before we go through my three-step process, just for the sake of clarity, you can see I've
added two more niches on this niche rating spreadsheet.

I've got recliners and table saws. I did not use any mysterious way to find these niches. I found
both of these on Flippa. As you can see, we've got recliners right here. I think I actually showed
this in the previous video and I found another listing on Flippa for power tools. Although when
you actually go over to this website, for example, I open it in a new tab on Google. You can see,
although it says it's about power tools, it's actually about saws like this table saw, miter saw and
stuff like that, which is actually why when I put it on my spreadsheet, I said, table saws. So
added a few more niches on here just to make it a little bit longer and to give it more context as
well.

So now we have that out of the way, let's go over to the PowerPoint slides and we'll run through
the three-step process. So the first thing you're going to want to take a look at when it comes to
validating a niche is number one, the income potential. This is pretty much as it sounds. Here
we want to identify roughly how much money we can expect to make if we go ahead with this
topic. Now it's important to stress that this is notoriously difficult to predict as there are so many
different variables involved, such as what marketing technique you're going to be used. Are you
going for social media? Are you going to be promoting your links in forums, Facebook groups,
through SEO, and paid advertisements?

Another variable is how good of a marketer you actually are, and the competition you're up
against. There are so many variables, but essentially I'm going to go through my process, which
will help give you a rough estimation of how much money the niche actually has within it.

The second part of the niche validation process is niche longevity. And pretty much here, we're
going to determine, is there any longevity in the niche or is it just a seasonal niche, are sales
consistent? I'll show you exactly how we can go through that. And the third part of the niche
validation process is the rank ability. So pretty much how hard is it to rank in Google? Is it even
feasible? And if it's not, then we probably don't want to waste money target in that niche,
regardless of how much income potential it has.

So if you follow these three steps, you are drastically going to increase your chances of you
succeeding when it comes to affiliate marketing. There is a lot involved in these videos, as
you're about to see, I do have a lot of technical processes and a lot of online tools and
calculators I've created myself to help streamline this process. And of course, I'll be sharing all
of these with you in the next few videos. But that is pretty much a high-level overview of the
niche validation process. So I'm going to see you in the next video where we're going to go
through the first part of niche validation, which is determined by the income potential.

Section 5: Niche Validation - Part 1:

Part one of the niche validation process is determining the income potential of the niche. What
do I mean by income potential? Well, pretty much, we just want to figure out an estimation of
how much money we can make from a niche. And to do this, we need to know two things. The
first is number one, how many people are searching for our potential keywords every month.
The second thing we need to know is how much each cell is worth to us. Once we know these,
we can very easily work out the income potential. Without this information, it is pretty much
impossible and it's just going to be a complete guess, which remembers we want to avoid
making any guesses or going with our gut feeling when it comes to working our income
potentials. It's always best to look at their data, analyze it, and then follow a proven formula.

So how do we work out the income potential? Well, first let me show you how you can figure out
how many people are searching for our potential keywords. And to do this, we are going to be
using a paid tool called Semrush. For those who aren't already aware, Semrush is a really,
really powerful SEO tool out there and what it allows you to do is literally enter in a keyword,
such as best outdoor tents, which is actually one of the first niches we have listed down, outdoor
tents. And it will show you how many times that keyword gets searched for a month, which is 70
times a month in the US. We can also see lots of other keyword variations. So best outdoor tent,
that gets searched on 170 times a month, where obviously my initial term was best outdoor
tents with an S, so we can see already that without the S, there is more searches.

Now before I go through all the data and actually run through exactly what it means and how we
can use it, I want to quickly just go over Semrush, as I said, it is a paid tool. Prices for Semrush
actually start at $120 per month. However, you can actually get access to Semrush completely
free by using the free trial. As you can see, it says, try it for free right here. So if you sign up on
the Semrush page under prices, you can get access to Semrush completely free for seven
days. However, I have gone a step further and I've actually contacted Semrush and I've
managed to get a free 14-day trial, so an additional seven days of access at a tool for
completely free. To take advantage of this free 14-day trial all you need to do is click the link in
the resources and it will take you to this page where you can see it's a ClickSlice and Semrush
special offer where you can sign up and get access for completely free for 14 days.
Now, by the way, it doesn't matter. If you sign up to the ClickSlice 14-day trial or if you go for the
bulk standard seven-day trial, you will need to enter in your card details just to authorize the
trial. However, as long as you cancel before the trial expires, you'll not get charged. So take
your pick on which one you like to sign up with. Go for the standard Semrush trial or you can go
for the ClickSlice 14-day trial. And just for complete transparency, if you do sign up through the
ClickSlice 14-day trial, then I will earn a small affiliate commission as this is an affiliate link.

Now, my intention of this course is not to try and make money through people signing up
through Semrush, is to actually give you value for the course you purchased, which is why I'm
being transparent and letting you know this upfront from the start. However, as I said, go for
whatever one you want to sign up for. You are under no pressure whatsoever to use a ClickSlice
and Semrush special offer. Although, as I said, it will give you access to the tool for an additional
seven days.

Once you signed up to Semrush, all you will need to do is go ahead and carry out a search for a
potential keyword you would like to target. As you can see in this instance, I've gone for the best
outdoor tents. Although on my niche rating sheet, my niche is actually just outdoor tents without
the word best. So you're probably wondering, well, why did you put in the word best when you
search for it in Semrush? Well, the reason being is that what we want to do is identify how many
searches there is a month for keywords that we are going to target. Now, typically a lot of the
keywords are going to be targeting when it comes to affiliate marketing, is going to be words
that include your niche and also include the word best, reviews, guide, and top 10, as all of
those keywords have intent behind them, that people are still in the research phase and they're
not sure which product they actually want.

If someone is searching for the best outdoor tents, they don't actually know which tent they
want, right? They're looking for websites that lists out the best tents out there and review them
one by one, which is exactly what an affiliate site does. So we can see the overall search
volume for best outdoor tents is 70 per month. We can actually scroll down and get more
queered variations, best outdoor tent. So that's a tent without the S as my original search term
had S so it is plural. This is a singular term. This has 170 searches per month. So instead of you
going through all these 191 keywords and adding up all the search volumes to determine the
total monthly search volumes, we can just use this figure right here, total volume, 1600.

So what I'm going to do is go back to my spreadsheet and where it says search volume, I'm
going to put in 1600. You can actually do this with other keywords as well. So instead of going
for best outdoor tents, you can go for outdoor tent reviews and then get that total search
volume, and add it to the one you've already added on the sheet, but just for the purpose of this
trading video, I'm just going to go for the best-related keywords.

So I'm not going to do all of these as a video is going to become too long and very, very
repetitive. And I want to keep the video as short and concise as possible as there's nothing
worse than actually buying a course and finding out it contains a 99% fluff and 1% value. So
what I'll do is I'll just go for the first niche, which I've done already, outdoor tents, and I'll also go
for the last one, which is table saws. So if I go back to that and I'll type in best table saws, take
off the word tents, carry out a search, and then Semrush is going to go ahead, analyze a
database and figure out how many times it gets searched for a month. So you can see already
this keyword alone, the best table saws get searched for 2900 times a month in the US. We can
see the total search volume is 57,800. That is a lot higher than the outdoor tents. So already I
can see that this niche has more searches than the other.

Let's go ahead and go back to our spreadsheet table saws, 57,800, like so. I put in a comma
just to make sure I haven't made any mistakes, just double-check that. 57,800, perfect. If you do
plan on making an affiliate site, that's targeting a specific country, maybe with the UK, for
example, then all you need to do is change the database from the United States, go to the
United Kingdom, and then it will return you different data based on the country you are targeting.
And as you can see, there are a lot less searches for table saws in the UK in comparison to the
US. So if I was to target this niche, I definitely want to make sure I am targeting the US as that is
where all the search volume is at. That is how you figure out part one of the income potential
process.

Let's look at how we can figure out part two, how much each sale is worth. To work this out is
going to be a different process, depending on what affiliate marketing program you are using.
For example, if you plan on using ClickBank to promote your table saws, for example, then
you'd go into ClickBank, you'd find the table saw the product, and you'd see how much they are
paying you per sale. So if you're using an affiliate marketing program like ClickBank, JVZoo, or
Awin, it's pretty straightforward to get this number. You'll just have to find an affiliate offer which
you would potentially be interested in promoting, see how much they pay per commission, and
then use that for your calculations, as I'm about to show you in a second.

However, if you plan on using Amazon Affiliates, then the process is a little bit more convoluted
as they don't tell you exactly how much you get per commission. So step one of the processes
is number one, figure out how much Amazon pays for the products you are looking to promote.
So remember if I go back to my niche rating spreadsheet, I've got outdoor tents as my first
niche, and I've got table saws as my second niche. So all I need to do is go back to the Amazon
Affiliate commission table. Again, I ran through this earlier on in the course, and we can see
outdoors right here is 3%. So they pay 3% commission on any product that is sold in the
outdoor niche, which would be outdoor tents. And our second niche is a table saw. Well, this is
pretty much a tool, so if you go back to our table, we can see tools is also in the same category.
So both niches are going to provide me with 3% per cent commission.

So now we know how much commission we get for each sale, we then need to figure out how
much does their average product cost for that specific niche. The easiest way to do that is to
simply go over to Amazon and then carry out a search. Here I've carried out a search for
outdoor tents, and what does Amazon do, well it returns all the best-selling outdoor tents to me.
Along with those tents we can see the prices as well. We've got this tent for $160, this one for
$100, 140, 129, so quite a few differences in price. This one for 55,99 so $56, is a lot cheaper.
We've got a much more expensive one here, $170, but pretty much what you want to do is go
through all of the tents on the first page of Amazon and add up the prices of them all, and then
divide by the number of products you see, to get an average price.

You need to do exactly the same for the other niche. So again, go into Amazon type in table
saws, and make a list of all of the prices. So we've got $160 here for a mini table saw, this is
actually a smaller one and it's $160. So it tells me already that these products are going to be a
lot more expensive. $415, 1,900, wow, $500. I did not realize these things were so expensive,
159. So again, it's exactly the same process. Go through that Amazon listings, add up all the
prices and then divide by how many products there are and then that will give you an average
price. So to save you watching me do this manually one by one, I have already done this and I
have all the data right here on this tab. As you can see from my research on outdoor tents, the
average price of a product on Amazon for an outdoor tent is roughly $120.

We also know from looking at the Amazon commission table that we saw earlier, that we get 3%
of this price. So to work out our average commission, all we need to do is work out 3% of $120.
Now, if you're not good at maths then no worries, you can literally just go over to Google and
type in 3% of $120, it would help if you put dollars instead of count signs like that and it'll literally
tell you, so $3.60. So again, that is how much we are going to earn for that average commission
we generate if we are promoting outdoor tents. We can do is exactly the same for table saws.
As you saw, table saws were a lot more expensive and the average price I calculated was
roughly $380. Table saws also pay us the same commission of 3% as we saw from the Amazon
commission table. So again, 3% of 380, we can change that to 380, is about $11 and 40 cents.
So we can see straight away that we are going to earn more money per sale if we are promoting
table saws.
However, what this doesn't do, it doesn't tell us how much money we could make. This literally
tells us the average amount of commission we going to earn per sale we generate. There's one
last step of the process. I did warn you that it is a very thorough process and this is because you
are learning affiliate marketing the way that you should. We are not going to be skipping out on
anything whatsoever. I'm going to make sure I keep on coming and providing you with tons and
tons of value. Let's go ahead and close all of these tabs as we don't really need them anymore,
just to make things more clear and concise.

How do we work out the income potential? Well, we do that by using this online ROI calculator,
which is one I've created myself. I will include a link to this in the resources but essentially all
you need to do is populate it with data that you already have. For example, you can see the first
row says average monthly searches. So we go back to our first niche of outdoor tents. We know
that there are roughly 1600 searches a month. So if we go back to our calculator, we can put in
1600 in the first row, like so, and the ranking position relates to what position your website ranks
in Google. Now, as you can imagine, if you rank higher on Google, you are going to get more
traffic. So what this calculator actually does is take this all into consideration and it's updated in
real-time.

So if we rank in position three on Google for all of those keywords that add up to 1600 searches
a month, then we are going to get 144 visitors. If we rank in position one, then we're going to get
512 visitors. If you're wondering, where does the data come from? It comes from this website
right here, Advanced Web Ranking, CTR study. Again, I will link to this in the resources too. But
pretty much in a nutshell to keep things very short and concise. But what it does is it tells you
the percentage of people that click the website in position one on Google, then position two,
three four, five, six, seven and so on and so on. And as you can imagine, the lower you rank
Google, the less amount of clicks you're going to get. So this calculator takes that all into
consideration for you.

The website conversion rate relates to the percentage of your visitors, which are actually going
to convert. And remember, as we're not selling products, we are pretty much promoting other
products. The conversion rate is already automatically calculated for us. So if we have a 35%
conversion rate or out of those 512 monthly visitors that is going to lead to roughly just under
180 clicks. Of course, not everyone who clicks your affiliate links and lands on Amazon is going
to buy one of your products so you work to a 5% conversion rate, which is pretty much
standard. Then that tells us we are roughly going to get nine sales every month for promoting
these products and the average commission we are going to get per sale, which remember
we've already worked out is $3 and 60 cents. So let's go back to the calculator and I'll put in $3
and 60 cents like so, and you can see the projected monthly revenue is just $32. That is not a
lot of money.

Now I have all this information. What I want to do is go back to my spreadsheet and update the
columns C and D. So these columns C and D and pretty much E F as well, which I'll cover in
later videos, these are all ratings that you'd give the niche in your own view out of 10. So what is
the total search volume? It's 1600. Would you rate that as high? Number 10 would be, that you
are really happy with that search volume and zero would be, that you are not happy whatsoever.
And as you can see, we've done the research for two niches. The first one has a search volume
of 1600. Table saws has 57,000, pretty much 58,000 search volume. So the search volume for
this niche, it isn't great. I would literally give this a two. It's not that high whatsoever.

The income potential, what we just saw is pretty much at $32. That is very, very, very low and I
don't want to be spending all my time just to earn $30 a month. So what I'm going to do, for the
income, again, out of 10, what would I rate that, I would rate that pretty much, probably a one
that is very, very low. Let's do the same thing for the other niche, table saws. So 57,800, we'll go
back to our calculator. We'll clear all of this. We'll clear the average commission as well. So let's
put in 57,800. If we're ranking in position one, has over 18,000 visitors a month, really, really
high, worst-case scenario, we rank in position two. That's still almost 9000 visitors. Now, if
you're watching this and thinking, can you actually rank number one for these keywords? Yes,
do not worry, I'm going to show you how to do SEO properly because we do SEO for my own
agency website.

If you scroll down on this keyword, a very, very competitive keyword, as you can imagine, you
can see that ClickSlice ranks number one, SEO Consult London. This is my website and I'll be
showing you the same process that I follow to do SEO so you can rank your websites too. So
that's just to give you a bit more context and a bit more reassurance.

Now, back to the ROI calculator. These details will stay exactly the same. Remember, this is all
automatically populated. We can see we'll get 18,000 visitors a month working on the same
conversion rate of 35%. That's roughly 6473 visitors. Again, a 5% conversion rate, that's another
323 sales a month. We already know our average commission as we've already worked it out,
which was $11 and 40 cents. So we're back to our calculator, $11 and 40 cents. Now we can
see that the projected monthly revenue is 3600, so a lot higher than what we saw before.
If you want to be conservative, that's not a problem. You can always change your ranking
position to number three, for example, but even at ranking at position three, you can see you
are still projected to do over $1,000 a month. Go to position five, again, a really, really
worst-case scenario, you'll be getting almost $500 per month. So let's go back to position three,
as that's pretty much very conservative. If I go back to our affiliate marketing niche rating
spreadsheet, it's quite a mouthful. A search volume, what would I rate this out of 10? Well, this
is really, really high. This is really good. I would rate this a seven as it's really good. Now,
remember this is a seven in my personal view, there is no way of me saying if it's over 50, it
should be seven. If it's over 20,000, it should be five. It all comes down to your personal view.
Just make sure you are consistent when you're right in other niches and that way this is going to
be accurate.

Now, what would I rate the income out of 10? Well, the income was really, really good, as we
just saw, I would give this an eight. That is how you work out their income potential. We've
identified how many people are searching for our potential keywords and we've also calculated
how much each cell is worth to us. We've then overlaid information onto our niche rate and
spreadsheet and we populated the first free out of five columns, so that was quite a long
process. There is definitely a lot to take in, but as I said, this is the most educated way to do this
as it gives you an accurate indication of what niche is going to be the best. I do recommend you
watch this video a couple of times as if it is the first time you are doing this is going to be fairly,
fairly new, but trust me, don't worry as you do this more and more often, it's pretty much going to
be an automated process. You'll be adding in all these numbers, and doing all your calculations
without even thinking about what you need to do next.

So don't worry if you find it a little bit intimidating for now, it probably will be as you are
completely new to this, but stick in there, be patient and go for the video, pause it as, and when
you need and work out your niche ratings. So that's it for the first part of the process. And I'll see
you in the second part where we're going to work out the longevity of the niche. See you there.

Section 5: Niche Validation - Part 2:

Part two of the niche validation process is niche longevity. So pretty much, all we want to do
here is determine, is it an evergreen niche? And what I mean by evergreen is, is it a niche that
is going to make us money every single month? Or is it just going to generate money in the first
couple of months, and then die out over time? So the way we can determine the niche longevity
is by using the tool called Google Trends. So if you don't already know what Google Trends is,
it's pretty much as it sounds, it's a tool which shows you the trends of keywords over time,
based on the Google database. So here we have Google Trends, this is actually what it looks
like. I will go ahead and include a link to this in the resources. And pretty much, all you want to
do is go in here and type in keywords related to your niches.

For example, if we go and look at our first niche, which is outdoor tents, although I can see
already that the numbers are quite low, but we'll still go ahead and work out niche longevity
anyway. Let's go and type in the best outdoor tents, and then carry out a search. And then what
you want to do is make sure you are using filters related to your niche. So as we are targeting
the US for pretty much both niches, let's go ahead and change the UK to the United States, like
so. I then want to go for the past 12 months and go for the past five years, that will give us a
good indication of how things are going. If your chart does look a little bit like this and you can't
really see trends, then of course, you can go for a different duration, maybe all time, from 2004,
for example. And that will give you a good indication of how things are going. So you can see
that, pretty much, it looks like it's going on the rise, which is a good sign, right? We can see
there is longevity in the niche.

If we saw the chart going completely all the way down like that, then that is a red flag and a
niche we do not want to be involved in. As of course, over time, the search volumes are going to
go down, and down, and down, which is going to have a negative impact on the traffic our site
generates, which has a knock-on effect on the site's affiliate revenue. So let's go ahead and
compare this to another niche, maybe a seasonal niche, to show you exactly what I mean. If we
change best outdoor tents and go for best lawn mowers, for example, and then carry out a
search for that, you can see this niche is going up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down. And
this is because this is a seasonal niche. Remember, people are only looking for seasonal
products in that season. So if you actually look at this chart, like this dip right here, December,
no searches. As the year goes into January, February, and March, keeps disappearing. You see
the searches are going up and up and up. And that is because it's getting closer to summer.

Right here, we have May in 2013. If I look at this, this is also going to be a similar month to May,
we've got May again, we've got May. So all of the peaks are in May and April, in the lead-up to
summer. And then after summer's gone and it's no longer hot, people are not interested in
cutting the grass, so what happens is search volume goes completely down. So you want to
avoid any niches which have charts like this, or ones that are just on the decline. So let's go
ahead and look at our last niche, which was table saws. So let's go back to Google Trends, and
we'll type in best table saws, and then delete mowers, and carry out a search for that. Again,
I've got the US selected. We can see in this one, it has clearly been going up since, when is
this? Since 2000, I wish that thing would stop flicking, I think 2011. You can see right there, it's
pretty much been on the increase, and some of the easiest ways to identify trends is to literally
look at the bottom point of the chart.
So we can see it's right here and it's getting higher, higher, higher, higher. And again, it peaked
in April 2020. And again, it went up and up and up again. So this is a good indication, as it
clearly demonstrates there is longevity in this niche. When it comes to our niche rating sheet,
again, all we need to do is, in your own personal opinion, what would you rate the niche
longevity of that niche out of 10? So outdoor tents, we saw were on the rise, so I would give that
a 6. It's going in the right direction. Compare that to table saws of what we just saw. Well, this
one was rising a lot more than the other one, so what I'll do is I'll give this a higher rating. So I
will go for 7 in this instance. And that is how you determine the niche longevity. So in the next
video, we're going to be going over the last part of our niche validation, which is rankability. I'll
see you there.

Section 5: Niche Validation - Part 3:

Stick with me, we are almost there. We are now at the last part of the niche validation process.
Congratulations on even making it this far. It's definitely a good sign for sure, as a lot of people
do start courses and never finish them, but the fact you're watching this one is obviously a good
sign as it shows you are serious about affiliate marketing.

So what do we need to look at in the last step, which is Niche Rank ability? Well, pretty much
Niche Rank ability entails how difficult it is to rank on Google for the keywords you want to
target. We can determine this by using the free Moz Bar Chrome extension, which I'll walk you
through in just a second, but pretty much what we want to do is look for websites that are on
page one on Google and that have a domain authority, which is what DA stands for under 25.

Now, the reason why we want to look at domain authority under 25 is that domain authority
pretty much tells us how powerful that website is. How authoritative that domain is. If we can
see websites on page one that is less than DA 25, then that is a very, very strong indication that
we can also rank for this keyword as domain authority 25 really isn't that high.

Of course, if you are good at SEO and you're really confident in your SEO skills, then you can
go for a higher domain authority rating. However, if you're completely new to SEO, then I
recommend you go with 25 and under. And like I said at the start, if you're not going to be using
SEO as your traffic source to generate affiliate commissions, then you don't really need to pay
attention too much to this specific video.
So let's head over to my browser and I'll give you another real-time walkthrough, as once again,
I don't just want to cover the theory, I want to give you a real-time practical walkthrough as well.
Here is the Moz Bar Chrome extension. What you need to do is go over to Google, and type in
Moz Bar Chrome extension. It's going to be this one right here at the top. Give it a click and then
get it installed to your Google Chrome extensions. And by the way, to use a Moz Bar, you will
need to create an account with Moz. So again, if you just go into Google and type in Moz, it will
be this one right here, moz.com. Just pretty much sign up, create an account and then that is
linked to your Moz Bar Chrome extension. It is completely free to create an account with Moz,
by the way. You don't need any of the paid solutions just to use the Moz Bar.

So once you've got the Moz Bar installed, it's going to look like this. If you don't see it in your
browser, it's most likely going to be hidden. So just click this little puzzle icon, find where it is,
and then click the pin and then that will pin that to the front of your chrome extension. So I
already have my Moz Bar pinned. So the next step we need to do is pretty much Google one of
our keywords and see what websites are on page one.

Let's go with our first one. We had the best outdoor tents. Now we want to go for the biggest
keyword possible, which is a best outdoor tent without the S, so let's simply copy this keyword,
go over to Google and search for the best outdoor tent, and then once I've got my results, I'm
going to click this Moz Bar Chrome extension, and then give it another click, sometimes you
have to click it twice, and what it's going to do is overlay this bar onto each website.

So on the right-hand side, you can see it says DA, which is the domain authority metric I was
referring to, and we can see the website in position one has a domain authority of 45, which is a
little bit high. It's over our 25. However, let's keep on scrolling down to see if we find any less
authority websites. We've got t3.com, domain authority 87. Wow. That's really high. We've got
domain authority 54, again, really, really high. Domain authority 60. We've got another 60,
another 60 here and we've got a couple more websites at the bottom, domain authority 76, 83,
44. So that's pretty much the lowest one we've seen, 44. But again, that is still a lot higher than
domain authority 25. Already I can see that all the websites on page one, for the keyword that
we want to target, are really authoritative websites. So we are going to struggle to rank on page
one of Google if we decide to target the best outdoor tent niche.

Now, if you are really set on this niche and you just want to really figure out if it works, you can
go for other keyword variations as well. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people, instead
of calling it the best outdoor tents, may go for the best camping tents, as camping is exactly the
same thing. So if you go back to our keyword research tool and change outdoor to camping,
let's have a look at what the keyword says. It's probably going to be a lot higher. We can see
77,700 to almost 78,000 searches. So it just goes to show, that if you go for a different keyword,
you can get a lot of different keyword variations.

However, remember this is just a process to give you a rough estimation on what niche is the
best to target. You can always go through the same process later and update these figures if
you find a better keyword. However, I already know from experience, that because I have a
friend who owns an affiliate site in this niche, it is very, very competitive if you go outdoor or
camping. But if I take the main keyword, once again, best-camping tent, we copy that, go back
over to Google, best camping tents. We scroll down, we can see we've got domain authority 45,
54, 87, 60, and 60 again. So again, really, really high domain authorities. 60, 95, 76, 94. It's
actually even more competitive than initial terms. So again, we can see that this keyword is very,
very competitive and I probably do not want to be targeting this niche.

I always recommend going for the biggest search volume on here because it gives you a good
indication of how competitive the niche is on the whole. If you go for one of the smaller
keywords, maybe you explore all 3,974, and look at the ones really, really low at the bottom,
they're probably not going to be that competitive, but at the same time, they don't have that
many searches. So it's not worth doing.

What I'm going to do is go back to my niche rating spreadsheet and what is a Rank ability, in my
personal opinion, for outdoor tents. Well, as we saw the lowest was I believe domain authority
45 if I'm right. That is quite high, a lot higher than my 25. So I would give this a three. It's going
to be very, very hard to rank for this niche.

So we'll do exactly the same thing for table saws. Let's go ahead and actually delete these gaps
because its a little bit messy, let's just keep it nice and clean. So table saws, again, find out the
biggest search keyword, which we already discovered from the previous video was the best to
table saw. So we're going to copy that keyword, go over to Google and type in best table saw.
Going to scroll down and as you can see, the website in position one is a domain authority 23.
So the site that ranks number one for the biggest keyword that we want to target, is under
domain authority, 25. This is a really, really good sign, especially if the site's number one.

Below that we've got domain authority 45, then we've got domain authority 28. So again, a
pretty decent number, 28 isn't too high over 25. So again, this is definitely doable. We've got a
76, so quite a high one right there. Then we've got domain authority 11. Super, super low. That's
literally less than half of what I recommend. Then we've got a 37, a 42, we've got another 22. So
again, another really weak website on page one. I think we've got a couple more at the bottom,
or just one more, domain authority 31. Again, that's not even much higher than the 25. So as we
are seeing, multiple websites on page one, all below domain authority 25, this is a really, really
strong sign that this is a good niche to go after, as I'm very confident that I can rank for this
keyword.

And one thing I just want to clarify, as I did use to get a lot of questions in relation to this is,
Josh, how many domain authorities under 25 sites should I see? Well, pretty much as long as
you see one, that is a good enough indication. Because if one weak website could make it onto
page one, then there's no reason why you can't make it onto page one as well. The more weak
sites you see, the better.

So again, now we have all this information and data to our hands. Let's go back to our niche
rating spreadsheet and rate the niche Rank ability out of 10. So as we saw lots and lots of
websites on page one under 25, and we saw a couple not too much over 25, and in addition, the
website that ranked number one was under 25, this is a really promising sign. So I'm going to
give this a niche rank ability of number eight.

So there we have it. We have now filled in all four columns of our niche rating spreadsheet. We
can see the total rating for both niches. So for outdoor tents, we have a total rating of 12. This is
actually out of 40, as we have 10, 10, 10, and 10 here, which is obviously, 10 plus 10 plus 10
plus 10 is 40. And for table saws, we have a niche rating of 30 out of 40. Clearly, table saws is
the better niche we should be targeting and ideally, as a rule of thumb, you want to go for a
niche that at least has a niche rating of 20 and above, which you can see from my note I've put
here.

So even if I didn't have table saws, let's imagine I have another niche and it was maybe 15, I
wouldn't even target any of these niches. I would go back to step one, list out some more niches
and then go through the process again. I know it does take a lot of time, but it's really important
you invest the time required, as this is literally a make or break when it comes to building out
your site.

If you build a site in the wrong niche, it's going to be much harder for you to generate results. So
what I'm actually going to do is, I'm going to be using table saws as a niche for the training
purpose of this course. So in the next few sections of the course, you are going to see me
building out a website from scratch, targeting this exact niche. I can't wait. It's going to be
exciting, and I'll see you in the next one.

Section 5: Finding The Best Niche - The Reality:

I wanted to make this quick video to address the question that I literally get asked every single
day, which is what is the best niche to target. Now, this is a very, very broad question. The
answer to this actually depends on numerous things. Such as your experience with affiliate
marketing. If you are a total beginner in affiliate marketing, then the best niche is going to be the
one that allows you to get results as soon as possible. Right? And one that obviously makes a
good amount of money. However, if you are a veteran affiliate marketer, you may not be that
interested in getting results that quick, you may more be interested in actually generating the
most amount of revenue. So your experience with affiliate marketing has a big impact on what
you define as best.

The second thing that makes it a little bit more difficult to ask is, of course, your marketing skill
level. If you are completely new to marketing, then you may find it difficult to go for a niche,
which someone else may not find difficult, who is more experienced. Hopefully, that made
sense, but pretty much your skill level is going to have a big impact on the number of niches you
can target. So once again, the best niche to target is going to be subjective to your marketing
skill level.

The third thing is your budget. How much money do you have to invest in your affiliate
marketing niche? Can you invest $500, $2,000 or even $5,000? The amount of money you
could invest is also going to have a big impact on how long it takes you to get results as well.
But going back to the initial point of having a different budget, well, if your budget in total is let's
say $500, then you could not target the same niches as someone who's got a budget of $5,000.
So the niches are going to be different. The best niche for someone with a small budget is going
to be different to the best niche for someone with a larger budget.

The fourth reason why it's pretty much impossible to answer this question, is your income goals
and targets are going to be different. For example, you may only want to make $500 a month
from affiliate marketing. Someone else may want to make $10,000 a month from affiliate
marketing. So the best niche for you and them is going to be completely different.
Moving onto the fifth point, which is your definition of the word best. Again, when you say the
word best, what does that mean? Is the best niche the one you can rank for the quickest, the
one you can make the most money, the one you can flip for the most money or the one that
requires the least amount of time?

So hopefully you can see, what I'm trying to get across here. It is literally impossible for me to
answer the question of what is the best niche as it's going to vary drastically, depending on what
your personal goals and preferences are. And please do not send me a message given answers
to all of these five things, your experience level, budget income goals, and definition of best, as
still, that is not the best way to approach this.

The way to find the best niche is literally by following the processes that we just ran through in
the last videos. I literally ran through the same process and I managed to find a really good
niche, which was table stores whilst recording this course. And all I did was literally follow the
same process that you have just seen as well. And what's also really good to know as well is
that if someone really does find the best niche, well guess what, they are going to keep it a
secret. They're not going to share that niche with everyone else as what does that do? It creates
more competition for them.

So asking that question also does not make that much sense because in reality, people are just
going to send you in the wrong direction. That's why, instead of me giving you a list of niches to
target, I've taught you how to find the niches. You now understand the core principles and the
processes that you need to follow to find the best niche. So I hope that clarifies things and
demystifies the whole process as it is a question I get asked all the time. So hopefully this helps,
but in summary, there isn't any shortcut or magic answer. You simply need to follow the process.
And when you do find that niche, I recommend that you don't share it with anyone else as it just
going to create more competition for yourself.
