a. Determine how long it takes the rock to hit the ground.

b. Determine the velocity of the rock as it hits the ground.

2. A stone free fall from the height of 45 m. What is the velocity of the stone when hits the ground?

3. You throw a ball downward from a window at a speed of 2.0 m/s. How fast will it be moving when it
hits the sidewalk 2.5 m below?

4. Suppose a free fall ride at an amusement park starts at rest and is in free fall.
a. What is the velocity of the ride after 2.3 s?

b. How far do people on the ride fall during 2.3 s?

5. A ball is thrown vertically upward with a velocity of 15 m/s from the roof of a building that is 22 m

if it took 3.0 s for the ball to hit the ground.

3. A stone is thrown vertically upward with a speed of 12.0 m/s from the edge of the cliff 70.0 m high.
How long does it take to reach at bottom of the cliff?

4. A kangaroo is capable of jumping to a height of 2.62 m. Determine the take off speed of the
kangaroo.

5. A baseball is popped straight up into the air and has a hang time of 6.25 s. Determine the height to
which the ball rises before it reaches its peak
