    Animals need to eat to stay alive. Different animals eat different types of food.
    Which of these animals does not eat grass?
    Animals are divided into four groups
    according to their food.

    Carnivores
    Some animals eat only meat.
    These animals are called carnivores.
    Carnivores eat:

    fish birds insects


    mammals

    and other animals:

    Herbivores or herbivorous animals
    Some animals eat only plants.These animals are called herbivores.
    Herbivores eat:

    grass nuts seeds

    flowers fruit vegetables


    You could remember the word:

    Herbivore
    by remembering that herbs are
    types of plants.
    Omnivores or Omnivorous animals
    Carnivores eat only meat. Herbivores eat only plants.

    But some animals eat meat and plants.


    These animals are called omnivores.
    Omnivores or Omnivorous animals
    Animals which eat both vegetables and meat are called Omnivores
    or Omnivorous animals.
    Insectivores or Insectivorous animals
    Animals which eat insects only are called Insectivores or
    Insectivorous animals.
