    The Department of Environment and Natural Resources conducted


    the 1st Consultation Meeting with all Sanitary Landfill Operators in the
    Philippines on December 17, 2020. The meeting agenda is to reinforce
    the continued efficient implementation of the Republic Act 9003 or the
    Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
    OBJECTIVES:
    z

    ▪ Promote the use of sanitary landfill as the final disposal site of


    residual waste as mandated in RA 9003 as well as other possible
    emerging technologies to address environmental protection;
    • Promote networking and/or inter-sectoral collaboration to
    effectively solve the problem in solid waste management;
    • Ensure the commitment of other/member SLFs operators to increase
    their capacities to effectively respond to the needs for a proper
    waste disposal facility.
    • Act as a catalyst for the implementation of the LGU 10-year Solid
    Waste Management Plan.
