1. INTRODUCTION

The Landwell management software allows administrators to gain insight into all keys by any PC netwroked.

It provides you with all the menus to config and track the whole solution.

1.1 For Which Models

It applies to Landwell smart key cabinets with following terminal: VA1.09 (+), BA1.14(+), V4.14(+).

1.3 Glossary overview

[1] System – The term ‘system’ refers to the electronic key cabinet unit.

[2] Key-Fob - The heart of the key system. It contains a micro RFID chip which allows the system to

identify the keys(s) attached.

[3] Users - Users are added to the system by an administrator and can either be a standard user or another

administrator. This is done from the user wizard in the admin section of the key cabinet.

[4] Permissions - The permissions section of the key cabinet allows you to easily identify who has access

to what keys and allows you to edit each user’s permission.

[5] Multi-Verification - The user not be allowed to remove the preset keys(keysets) untill any member of

the preset user group login to key cabinet to provide proof.

[6] Key Return Authentication - User identity when returning the key.

[7] Event - The purpose of using the key.

[8] Key Reservation - Key application refers to the application current user submitted to the administrator

to gain access to a key.

[9] Temporary User – Temporary user is to access to the keys using a temporary account which take effect

after the administrator approves it.

[10] Collect Data - Data collection is a manual process in which information flows from the terminal to

the software.

[11] Download Data – The inverse process of data acquisition. If the computer and the key cabinet are

regarded as two ends of the system, the function of synchronizing data, including acquisition and download,

is to synchronize the latest settings at one end to the other.

2. Installations and Operating Environment

First of all, the Microsoft SQL server has been installed on your server computer.

After selecting the installation path, click Next until you select the installation component interface.

Main program: client application program;

DotNet FX40: .net 4.0(microsoft);

NIC module tool: used to configure the cabinet network parameters;

Tray program: provides command set for communication between

server and key cabinet, do not install on client PC.

Of course, for stand-alone users, all components can be installed on the


same computer to act as both server and client.

3. NIC model configuration

(1) Run DeviceManagement.exe

(2) Click button,(or press F5)to search key-

cabinets

(3) After logging in, configure the IP address, subnet

mask [, gateway] [, DNS] [, Alternate DNS] of the key

cabinet to communicate with the server. Press OK to

save the modification, as shown in the figure below

(the value is not referential).

(4) Select“Channels”→“Channel X”,→“Serial

Settings”,configure the Band Rate :115200.

Press Ok to save.

(5) Configure the remote host IP and port. Press Ok

to save.

(6) Save and reboot.

Press OK to make settings take effect.

4. Tray Program Configuration

There are four items in the service tray setting menu:

network card module setting, communication setting,

database setting and language setting.

4.1 Communication Setup

In the [communication setup], configure the local IP

address and data port.

4.2 Database Setup

(Create Database→Database Connection)It shows

that the connection is successful.

The database account and password should be

available.

5.1 Connectting to Database

It is necessary to configure the correct database connection

parameters When the client run it first time, as shown in the right

figure. Fill in the database server address, database name, database

account and password from top to bottom, and the configured

values should be consistent with the database parameters of the

server tray.

5.2 Logging into the software

And next, the account of administrator is 0, password

is 123456 default.

Common accounts are created by the administrator.

5.4 Terminal Settings

[Terminal Number] - 8 digits, required, not the same as other cabinets;

[Terminal Name] - Up to 20 characters, displayed on the terminal;

[Total number of keys] - Equal to the number of key slots;

[Admin Password] – 6 digits;

[Emergency Password] – 6 digts;

[Key return authentication] - User identity while returning the key;

[Collect/Download Data] - Synchronize above settings between current terminal and software.

5.5 Key Settings

Rename the Key: [edit] a key and change its name.

Limit the use time of keys: Set the maximum usage time for each key. Once timeout, the system will pop up

an alarm message and send an email to the System administrator.

Synchronize data:Synchronize the latest settings at one end to the other.

5.6 User Settings

5.6.1 Edit a user


 [User ID] – 8 digits

 [User Name] – up to 50 characters

 [Password] – 6 digits

 [Status] - Freeze or activate user accounts

 [User Type] – three types: administrator/common/custom

5.6.2 Set time table


 [time table type] – four options: all time available/all time unavailable/by week/by month.

5.6.3 Set key-permissions

Defines which keys the user can access.

5.6.4 Synchronize data


 Synchronize the latest settings at one end to the other.

5.7 Events Settings

[Event] – reasons of key using.

5.8 Reports

Three types of reports are provided to view, to export, or to send emails.

5.9 Temporary User

Temporary user refers to that there is no such person in the software system. The administrator adds a

temporary personnel here to assign the key authority to the temporary personnel, so that the temporary

personnel has the right to take some keys. After the effective time is exceeded, the temporary personnel will

be deleted.

Operation method: After selecting the terminal,

provide the item on the left and submit it to the

administrator for approval.

5.10 Key Reservation and Approval

Key application refers to the application which

current user submitted to the administrator to gain

access to a key.

The permission takes effect after being approved by

the administrator.

5.11 Parameters Settings

5.11.1 Download settings


[Hardware information] - Update device firmware Online

[Terminal timing] - Synchronize device time with server

[Key status synchronization] – update the status of keys

[Terminal intialization] - restores the factory settings.

[Delete records in the terminal] - Clear key records in the device

5.11.2 Security Settings


The management system will alert and send email to admin while these selected options occurs.

Clear the data of corresponding items in the software.
