Due to rapid industrialization, industrial workers are exposed to several types of hazards and
accidents. Every year lakhs of workers are injured due to mechanical, chemical, electrical and radiation
hazards and it leads to partial or total disablement. So, in recent years, greater attention is given to health and
safety due to pressure from government, trade unions labour laws and awareness of employers. The
efficiency of workers depends to a great extends on the environment in which the work. Work environment
consists of all the factors, which act and react on the body and mind of an employee. The primary aim is to
create an environment, which ensures the greatest ease of work and removes all causes of worries.
Occupational health and safety are a discipline with a broad scope involving many specialized fields. In its
broadest sense, it should aim at:
a) The promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social wellbeing of workers
in all occupations.
b) The prevention among workers of adverse elects on health caused by their working conditions.
health.
and mental needs,
e) The adaptation of work to humans.
c) The protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to
d) The placing and maintenance of workers in an occupational environment adapted to physical
Successful occupational health and safety practice requires the collaboration and participation of both
employers and workers in health and safety programmes, and involves the consideration of issues relating to
occupational medicine, industrial hygiene, toxicology, education, engineering safety, ergonomics,
psychology, etc.
Occupational health issues are often given Dess attention than occupational safety issues because the former
are generally more difficult to confront However, when health is addressed, so is safety, because a healthy
workplace is by definition also a safe workplace. The converse, though, may not be true - a so-called safe
workplace is not necessarily also a healthy workplace.
The important point is that issues of both health and safety must be addressed in every workplace. Work
plays a central role in people's lives, since most workers spend at least eight hours a day in the workplace,
whether it is on a plantation, in an office, factory, etc.
Therefore, work environments should be safe and healthy. Unfortunately, some employers assume little
responsibility for the protection of workers' health and safety. In fact, some employers do not even know
that they have the moral and often legal responsibility to protect workers.
Project managers help define a project's goals, who they need on their team to complete each part of the
project, and the timeline for said project. Project managers are organized, goal-oriented, and strategic. They
also need to be strong leaders, taking on the goals of the projects as their own goals and inspiring the rest of
their project teams with a sense of communal purpose. Project managers need to work well under pressure,
change, ambiguity, and deadlines.
They notice the details and understand the big picture. Good project managers know that one size does not
fit all and can adapt their skills, knowledge, and techniques to work within each new project's context.
There are many different types of approaches when it comes to project management. Some common ones
include waterfall, agile, and lean, along with traditional. These are sets of practices and guiding principles
that help you navigate through to the completion of a project in the best way possible. But it's vital to choose
the right approach for your particular project, considering your team, the project goals, and your
organization. This is why there are so many to choose from; there really isn't one that works across the
board.
To maintain your certification as a Project Management Professional, you need to earn a specific number of
Professional Development Units. You can earn PDs in various ways, including completing particular
courses, attending events, or even listening to podcasts, as we suggested earlier on in this course. But other,
perhaps less obvious ways to earn PDUs are by contributing toward the project management body of
knowledge or volunteering your time and project management expertise. You can also earn PDUs by just
practicing project management at your job. Part of the reason for the variety is because every project
manager has their own interests and skills. Since PDUs are professional development, it's great to be able to
tailor them to fit you and your career.
This is not unique to project managers, obviously, but because project managers deal with people and teams,
they must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. A good project manager makes their team
members feel heard, valued, and trusted. And while some people come to these types of "soft" skills
naturally, there is always space to grow and develop them.
Realization of these objectives requires systematic planning and careful implementation. To this effect,
application of knowledge, skill, tools and techniques in the project environment, refers to project
management. Project management in recent years has proliferated, reaching new heights of sophistication. It
has emerged as a distinct area of management practices to meet the challenges of new economic
environment, globalization process, rapid technological advancement, and quality concerns of the
stakeholders.
PROJECT DEFINITION
Project in general refers to a new endeavour with specific objective and varies so widely that it is very
difficult to precisely define it. Some of the commonly quoted definitions are as follows. Project is a
temporary endeavour undertaken to create a unique product or service or result. (AMERICAN National
Standard ANSI/PMI99-001-2004)
Project is a unique process, consist of a set of coordinated and controlled activities with start and finish
dates, undertaken to achieve an objective confirming to specific requirements, including the constraints of
time cost and resource.
(ISO10006)
Examples of project include Developing a watershed, creating irrigation facility, developing new variety of a
crop, developing new breed of an animal, Developing agro- processing centre, Construction of farm
building, sting of a concentrated feed plant etc. It may be noted that each of these projects differ in
composition, type, scope, size and time.
Despite above diversities, projects share the following common characteristics.
• Unique in nature.
• Have definite objectives (goals) to achieve.
• Requires set of resources.
• Have a specific time frame for completion with a definite start and finish.
• Involves risk and uncertainty.
• Requires cross-functional teams and interdisciplinary approach.

PROJECT LIFE CYCLE

Every project, from conception to completion, passes through various phases of a life cycle synonym to life
cycle of living beings. There is no universal consensus on the number of phases in a project cycle. An
understanding of the life cycle is important to successful completion of the project as it facilitates to
understand the logical sequence of events in the continuum of progress from start to finish. Typical project
consists of four phases Conceptualization, Planning,
Execution and Termination. Each phase is marked by one or more deliverables such as Concept note,
Feasibility report, Implementation Plan, HRD plan, Resource allocation plan, Evaluation report etc.
Safety
Safety refers to the absence of accidents. Stated differently, safely refers to the protection of workers from
the danger of accidents. Safety, in simple terms, means freedom from the occurrence or risk of injury or loss.
Industrial safety or employee safety refers to the protection of workers from the danger of industrial
accidents. An accident, then is an unplanned and uncontrolled event in which an action or reaction of an
object, a substance, person, or a radiation result in personal injury.
TYPES OF ACCIDENTS:
Accidents are of different types. They may be classified as major and minor ones, depending upon the
severity of the injury. An accident which ends in a death, or which results in a prolonged disability to the
injured is a major one. A scratch or a cut which does not seriously disable him/her is a minor accident, but
an accident nevertheless. A mere incision or a deep scratch, say, on the leg or the shoulder, may or may not
immediately disable the worker, but he or she may develop disability later. Again, a wound which may
disable one worker may not disable another who receives a similar injury.
An accident may be internal or external. If a worker falls, or an object falls on him or her, it is possible he or
she may show no external signs of injury, but he or she may have fractured a bone or strained a muscle or
nerve- which is an internal injury. A worker may be disabled by an injury for hour, half a day, a day, a week,
a month, or a few months. If he or when it comes to performance, employee's performance is one the main
in organisational success. Therefore, it is a need of the hour where organizational has to make very specific
efforts for Health & Safety Measures to improving employee's performance to optimally utilize knowledge
and skills of their employees. The proposed research studies

Welcome to Sarvam Safety Equipment Private Limited. It is our greatest pleasure to have stepped into our

equipment supplier has gained us global recognition. Our unparalleled surfeit of personal protective
equipment, safety gear, and other industrial safety items top the charts of our deliverables. The only
organizational goal we had in our hearts was to make certain fields or industries safer and to create a better
environment for the present and future generations. To have been the repeated supplier of certain
international conglomerates, and industries, and to have consistently been a part of multiple Government-
affiliated projects speaks volumes of our effective services along with our quality-driven approach.
It was in the year 2013, when our Managing Director, Mr. K. Praveen Shetty spearheaded the establishment
of our organization with the aforementioned ideals. Even after a decade of excellent service, we have been
growing every single day learning new things and meeting new people. From our multifarious selection of
safety gear to our reliable back-end team, here are 5 reasons why one should choose Sarvam Safety as their

of top safety products include 3M, Justrite, ACME, KARAM, Dupont, Valvoline, Pidilite, etc. We duly
believe that one should never run out of options when it comes to choosing the right safety gear that would
aid their needs. Safety in itself isn't just a catchphrase but rather a way of life. It is often the case that people
overlook or under-appreciate the efforts of certain people who work in certain fields that are highly
demanding and excruciatingly painful as they are putting their lives on the line for our wellness. It is of
quintessential importance that every worker who wakes up with having to go to work with an element of
high risk has adequate safety gear at the helm to work freely. Which is precisely the collective goal of our
organization. Our industrial safety equipment is available at the convenience of your fingertips online and
also at our office.

HIERARCHY OF THE COMPANY

A business establishes a hierarchical structure by organising its employees using a pyramid model
determined by its employee's specific attributes. A typical hierarchy comprises the following employment
groups: administrative, executive, supervisor and entry-level personnel. In a larger organisation, there are
more levels in the structure.

Organisational hierarchies often have an advantage because of their streamlined training and communication
abilities. Supervisors who thoroughly understand the company's processes can easily train entry-level
employees, who can then ask for guidance or clarify questions. The hierarchy simplifies objectives and
increases the efficiency of business processes
