A very warm welcome to PACE Academy, Singapore Polytechnic!

The academic session for 2024-Semester 1 (2410)(15/04/2024 - 30/09/2024) will start on 15/04/2024.

Below is the necessary information you will require prior to embarking on your learning journey with
us.

1. Student ID

Your student ID is 5702662J.


This student ID is shared across all IHLs.

2. SP Wireless

To use the SP wireless service, please refer to Self-help Guide - Wi-Fi Connection (POLITE-CET).

3. STEP Student Portal


Please refer STEP Knowledge Portal - Student on how to use STEP Student Portal.

Please ensure that your personal particulars in STEP Student Portal are always updated.

You can view and manage academic information such as course calendar (also known as timetable),
academic progress, documents, and raise requests for leave of absence (LOA), deferment or
withdrawal, examination schedule and results, etc in STEP Student Portal.

You will receive timetable information via email and notifications in the STEP Student Portal about
two weeks before the start of the semester. It is important to be aware that the timetable may have
further changes. We highly recommend checking your timetable regularly, especially during the first
three weeks of the semester. Updates will be communicated to you via email and notifications in the
STEP Student Portal.

Lessons will be conducted face-to-face, online synchronous (ONLINE-SYN) or online asynchronous


(ONLINE-ASY):

• Face-to-face: You will find the venue information in the timetable.


• ONLINE-SYN: Your lecturers will email you on how to access the online synchronous lessons
1-2 days before the commencement of the lesson. Please check your email regularly.
• ONLINE-ASY: Your lecturers will provide notes in POLITEMall (e-learning system) for you to
study at your own time.

4. Student Card

Please upload your photo in STEP Student Portal (via My Profile) for your virtual student card, if you
have not done so.

Your virtual student card can found in STEP Student Portal (via Dashboard in the navigation pane).

Students can access SP campus:

Via public transport:

• Green lane via Dover Station – no scanning of virtual card is required


• T1A level 2 turnstile – scan the barcodes on your virtual card
o Increase the brightness of your mobile phone display
o Disable "auto-rotate" (if applicable)
o If any issue, to retrieve your updated student virtual card from STEP Student Portal
Dashboard and repeat the scan

Via private transport (parking charges applicable):

• Enter via Gate 1 or Gate 8

All visitors entering campus will be observed by security, who may, on exception, if assessed
necessary, stop any person or drivers for verification.

5. POLITEMall

POLITEMall is a portal to access online content using your student email account,
5702662J@polite.edu.sg. Please note that this is not an email address.

To access POLITEMall, please refer to Appendix – Access to POLITEMall Brightspace.

6. Microsoft Teams

Lecturers will create Team channels for classes and share files and videos with students.

To setup Microsoft Teams, please refer to STEP - MS Teams Setup.

7. Student Handbook

Please refer to the Student Handbook for information such as module exemption, leave of absence
(LOA), course withdrawal, attendance requirement, examination rules, code of conducts, etc.

8. Laptop and Software List

To participate in your lessons effectively, it is necessary to have a computer Notebook. This will
enable you to access e-learning platforms, write reports, and perform other essential tasks.
Additionally, SP offers the required software for your course of study at no cost. Eligible students are
provided access to the necessary software, limited to one computer Notebook per student.

To find out the software required by your course, please refer to your lecturers during your lessons.

A3: Mobile Apps


To help you navigate within SP campus, you may like to install SP Mobile. Search for “SP Mobile” in
Google Play or Apple Store to install the app on your mobile device.
Alternatively, you can also use “AR Map” on Android or iOS. The mobile app uses augmented reality
(AR) to guide you to your destination on campus.
