Creating Esafe HG-XG Appliances Using A USB Key
Introduction
This document describes the steps for creating eSafe HG and XG appliances using a USB Key.
Getting Started
1. 2. Make sure you have a 2GB USB key. Download the following files from Aladdins FTP site: ftp://esafe6:eSafe6togo@ftp.aladdin.com/users/eSafe/esafe6/v7/eSafe7.1-14-20081130.iso ftp://esafe6:eSafe6togo@ftp.aladdin.com/users/eSafe/esafe6/v7/eSafe7.1_USB_stick_v1.32.rar
Note: - Use only regular clean USB keys (without internal U3 software). - The key must be formatted using the FAT file system. - We recommend using Kingston DataTraveler USB keys. - USB key size is limited to 2 GB due to OS restrictions.

1.
Insert the USB key to the appliances external USB connector at the back of the appliance, and boot the system. The system will boot from the USB key and the Linux Rescue logo appears.
2.
At the boot prompt, type hg100 or hg200 or xg300 (according to the appliance) and press <Enter>. At the end of the installation process (takes between 5-10 min.) the appliance will automatically shut down (only the screen, not the power).
3.
Remove the USB key, power-off the appliance, wait 5 seconds, and then power-on the appliance again. The installation process will continue automatically (the internal CF/USB content will be copied to the hard drive), followed by two appliance restarts. At the end of the second restart, you can safely shut down the appliance as follows: a. When the eSafe appliance ready prompt appears, press <ALT+F11>. b. Log in to the system using the following credentials: User: root Password: kn1TG7psLu c. Shutdown the system using the poweroff command, and power off the appliance when the Power Down prompt appears.
