    Art work What is it for?

    EUGENIO DAZA Y. SALAZAR (1870-1954) The monument is a marker of Borongan's local


    Monument in Rawis Rd near in Eastern Samar hero, Captain Eugenio S. Daza, who was one of the
    Police Provincial Office brains behind the Balangiga uprising and what is
    known as the Balangiga Massacre where American
    soldiers were attacked by Filipino guerilla soldiers
    on the fateful morning of September 28 1901,
    where the Americans suffered their worst defeat
    during the Philippine-American War.

    Rizal Monument Balud I St, Borongan City, Eastern Borongan's Rizal Monument has been nomadic for
    Samar a time. It was originally located at the heart of
    town right across historic Hamorawon Auditorium
    (Tilang). It was transferred to the front of the then
    Municipal Hall to give way to the construction of
    the Mayor Luis Capito Cultural Stage; and stayed
    there for quite sometime. As improvements and
    beautification of the Municipal Hall went
    underway in the late 70's, the monument was
    once again transferred a few meters to its present
    location, beside the stage and across Mcguire
    Building, and has stayed there since.
