This will be an offline event.

Team Composition: The Competition is open to all Law Colleges / Law


Schools and Faculties / Universities, Departments of Law in India (hereafter
“participating institutions”) recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Students doing post-graduation in law and research scholars are eligible to


participate in the Competition.

Only one participant from each participating institution shall be registered for
the competition.

Registration Fees: Rs 300/-.

First prize Rs. 3500/-

Second prize e certificate of merit

Date: 10.03.2023

Dress Code: The dress code for the participants during the competition shall be a
formal attire.

About the Competition


Teaching Practice is an opportunity for aspiring teachers to understand the role and
operation of how the art of schooling/ teaching is done. This field experience
provides a challenging yet real world experience of teaching the students in an actual
classroom and acquiring professional competence.
This is a compulsory course for all the students who are doing their higher
education mostly Post Graduation courses. The students taking part in this drill are
addressed as STUDENT TEACHERS.
Through this mock trial experience the students can experience the real life
situations that will be in the future one day. This exercise shall be conducted as a
competition and will be evaluated over certain criterions decided by the institution.
OBJECTIVES
1. To expose student teachers to real life classroom experience under the
supervision of professional teachers.
2. To enable the student teachers to find their own strengths and weakness
through self-evaluation
3. To help them develop a positive attitude towards the teaching profession
4. To provide the student teachers with an opportunity to acquire professional
skills, competencies, personal characteristics and experiences.
5. To familiarize the student teacher with an experience of the work place

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED
1. Student Teachers are to be given a topic similarly related (Preferably sub topics
from one main topic.)
e.g. Constitutional Law –
a. Basic Features
b. Fundamental Rights
c. Directive Principles of State Policy etc…

2. Duration of the class – 30 mins total


( 20 mins for class and 10 mins for evaluation)

Note: The 10 mins shall be divided as the follows :

5 mins shall be to clear doubts and open discussion with the class
5 mins shall be to answer the questions by the evaluation board

3. The Topic for the class shall be given 5 days earlier for the scheduled day of the
presentation.

In which 2 days to prepare the teaching plan for the class


and 3 days for practicing the presentation of the topic.
4. The teaching plan should cover the topic given and also should give a overview
of the main topic.
NOTE: at least 5 major points of the sub topic should be covered during presentation
5. The participants can use any teaching techniques during the competition including
ppt.

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED FOR THE SETTING THE CLASS

1. The class consisting of at least 20 to 30 students,


2. The class should have students of every genre e.g. talkative, attentive,
disturbing, non- responsive, doubt asking etc.
3. The class should be an almost replica of the real time class
or
A group of 10 to 12 students (fixed) by the institution should be included in a
real class
EVALUATION

The evaluation criterion can be on various aspects such as :

1. Language
2. The topic coverage and the teaching plan
3. Management of the class
4. Doubt clearance
5. Time management
6. The Technique used etc

2.DEBATE COMPETITION

RULES
1. The language for the debate will be English.
2. All the rounds will be offline.
3. Two teams will go against each other, each team consisting of two members.
4. One college will be sending one team only.
5. This competition is open for law Rs.500
6. One speaker from each team will have to present for the motion while the
other speaks against the motion.
7. The number of participating teams shall be limited to 20 teams and the
preference to teams shall be given in order of their registration.
8. The competition shall consist of 2 rounds: Preliminary Round and Final
Round.
9. Topics-
10. For the Preliminary Round, each speaker shall be allowed to speak for 1
minute and the rebuttal will be of 90 seconds.
11. For the Final Round, each speaker shall be allowed to speak for 3 minutes
and the rebuttal will be of 150 seconds.
12. As per the Draw of Lots, Speaker 1(for the motion) of a team shall
individually contest with Speaker 2(against the motion) of the other team.
The cumulative marks of both the speakers of one team shall decide the
position of the team and its further promotion to the Final Round.
13. At the end of their presentation each speaker may face questions from the
judges.
14. The Speakers shall not disclose their identities and shall only represent
themselves by the team codes allotted to them.
15. The participants will be judged based on the criteria that may include the
construction, content, delivery as well as diction of their presentation.
16. The decision of judges shall be final.
17. The participants shall dress in black and white formals only.
18. Use of foul or obscene language will lead to disqualification.
19. Participants can use any source of information during preparatory period. No
book, document or electronic gadget shall be allowed to the participant while
speaking.
20. Participants must keep their videos on visible mode during participation in
the session.
21. Participants should ensure proper network connectivity before and during the
session.
22. Participants shall not be given any extra time for speaking in case of
disconnection due to low network or any technical glitch from the student’s
side.
23. In case there is any technical issue from the hosting college side, the time
limit extension will be done accordingly.
24. All participants must refrain from disclosing the identity of themselves and
their institution at any time and in any manner, during their participation in
the competition.
25. The organizers reserve the right to alter or change the rules or the procedure
of the competition.
26. On all appeals and disputes, the participants may approach the principal and
the decision of the principal shall be final.
27. All participants will be awarded with E certificates
28. Winners will be awarded Rs.3000/-
29. Best speaker will be awarded Rs.1500

(LEGAL QUIZ) VISUAL BASE

Quiz details:
1. The language of the quiz will be English.
2. The quiz shall be conducted online mode.
3. The quiz will consist of preliminary round and final.
4. There will be a preliminary round which would be a multiple choice test
through Google forms, in order to decide the teams that will qualify for the
final round.
5. The link for the quiz shall be sent on the WhatsApp group.
6. Topics: Constitutional Law and Current affairs.

Format
1. The quiz will contain multiple choice questions, short answers and one
word.
2. The preliminary round will be conducted through Google form. It will
consist 20 multiple choice questions to be answered in 20 minutes.
3. In case of a tie, the person submitting in lesser time shall be qualified.
4. In case of a tie in terms of time of submission, the person answering most
number of starred questions shall be qualified.
5. In case of a tie in equal number of star questions being marked correctly, the
participants shall be subjected to a tie-breaker question.
6. The finals will be conducted through Google Meet.

Rules and Regulations


1. Only individual participation is permitted.
2. Each college can send a maximum of two teams.
3. The Organizers will not be responsible for any connectivity/device failure
during the quiz.
4. The participants are requested to arrange a stable internet connection
throughout the competition.
5. The organizers reserve the right to amend or repeal any rule or eligibility
criteria at any time before the commencement of the competition.
6. The decision of the quiz master is final.
7. The results declared would be final and the authority vests with Kerala Law
Academy to change or modify the same.
8. The first, second and third prize winners will be provided with an E-
Certificate of Merit. The participants who reach final round will be provided
E-Certificate of Participation.

5. ESSAY COMPETITION

1.The essay writing time shall be of one hour duration.


2.The essay should be sent to the designated mail address with Name of
candidate/participant in subject line.
3.The participants shall need to join an official essay writing whatsapp/telegram
group to participate in competition. Instructions will be given only through group.
4.The decision of judges/management shall be final in all matters related to essay
competition.
5.The essay shall be submitted in word format with preferably Times New Roman
or Arial font (font size 12 or 13).
6.The word document containing the essay should have the details of the candidate
including name and institution after title of essay.
7.To register to participate in the competition in addition to any other formalities

8.The essay SHOULD NOT exceed 800 words.
9.The First Prize shall be Rs.2000/- (Three thousand five hundred) and E-
certificate of Merit.
All the participants will be awarded E-certificate of Participation.
10.The registration fee for the Essay competition is Rs.200/- for each participant.
The payment should be made through the link provided. A screenshot of the
Payment receipt should be kept safely by each participant and shared in whatsapp
group when directed.
11.The essay submitted will undergo language analysis to detect plagiarism of any
manner. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification and no complaints or
appeals whatsoever will be entertained in case of such disqualification.
12.Registration fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
13.Students of UG and PG courses of any UGC recognised University in India are
eligible for participation.
14.It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure a stable internet connection
(at participant’s end) and to keep the camera switched on during essay writing.

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE

Rules for fireless cooking competition


1. Participants should not bring any pre-cooked items. except provided
below- bread, a cup of rice, cheese, butter, spreads, biscuits, boiled egg
2. Pre-registration mandatory
3. Two members should be in a team to participate in the event.
4. Participants are supposed to display a chart having the name and
ingredients each dish they have prepared.
5. All the items required for cooking should be brought by the participants
themselves, including water, only working table will be provided.
6. Participants should get the approval for their raw materials one day prior
to the competition.
7. Participants are required to be present 30 minutes prior to commencement
at the venue.
8. Participants can bring non-electric equipment like mixer, chopper, juicer,
grater etc.,
9. The evaluation will be based on the taste of the dish, nutritional level,
cleanliness and presentation, unique name of the dishes
10. No readymade food allowed
11. No readymade decorating items permitted
12. Participants should prepare at least 4 items and one of which should be
beverages.
13. One vegetable decoration/ craft may be done along with the other
dishes which will results in additional points.
14. Heating of any method is prohibited
15. All participants should prepare food in hygienic and clean conditions.
16. Plates /spoons /straws should be provided for the judges.
17. Cutting of vegetables and/or fruits should be done on the spot. No prior
preparation is allowed.
18. Milk and milk products may be used.
19. Participants should clean their respective area of work after the
competition.

GENERAL RULES
⮚ Best Pre - recorded videos will be short listed and selected after screening
by an expert panel. Among that the best 5 will be selected to perform in
College Auditorium, among them top ranking 3 teams will be awarded
prizes

⮚ Videos must be submitted through the Email ID / Google drive without


any clarity loss
⮚ All videos shall be shot in Landscape mode.
⮚ Presence of obscene content may lead to disqualification.
⮚ Judge’s decision shall be final and binding in this regard.
⮚ Events are open to Law colleges in India only.

Group Dance/fusion Dance


⮚ Any dance form is accepted.
⮚ Dance can be either thematic or fusion.
⮚ Any music from any language is allowed.
⮚ Selection of the song can be made from any of the Indian
languages.
⮚ A team of 5 to 8 members is allowed.
⮚ Videos must be shot in Landscape mode.
⮚ Time duration: 5Minutes.
⮚ Good visual and audio clarity is a prerequisite for all entries.
⮚ File size should be within 200 MB.
⮚ Obscenity or vulgarity or any indecent display will lead to
disqualification.

⮚ It is an individual competition
⮚ All participants should report the campus at 8 am and topics will be
provided at 9 am
⮚ Participants should have their own digital camera or DSLR’s
⮚ After registration the device of the participants will be verified by the
organizers, the device time and the storage of the camera will be
checked. Old photos should not be stored in the camera
⮚ Pictures clicked with a mobile phone will be disqualified.
⮚ Participants should submit three pictures for evaluation before 12 pm.

LAS Film Fest 2023


(Law Academy Short Film Fest 2023)
Rules and Regulation
1. Eligibility
● Students who are pursuing any degree course shall be eligible to
enter the competition on successful registration.

There are no limits on the number of teams that could participate from a
college
2. Registration
Students can register through the online link provided in the Kerala Law
Academy Law college website
Students shall provide college ID card during registration procedure.
Registration fee is Rs.500
The participants who register shall identify themselves as in any of the
following roles in the short film

• Actor
• Cinematographer
• Original score maker
• Background score maker
• Script writer
• Editor
• Director
The above list is not exhaustive.
3. Theme
The theme of the proposed short film is limited to any socio-legal aspect
or related concept.
4. Medium
The medium of the film shall be any language, along with mandatory
English Subtitles for the same.
5. Duration
The total running time of the short film should strictly be a minimum of 3
minutes and maximum of 10 minutes. (This is the total running time and
includes titles and credit scroll.)
5. Video
● Videos shot in DSLR and Mobile Camera.
● Video should be submitted in MP4 format.
● Video quality must be in HD format.
6. Copyright
The film must not contain any copyrighted work(s) belonging to third
parties unless:
(1) Participants have a license to use such works in the Film; or
(2) the use of such works is fair one under the copyright laws. Entries
containing any unauthorized content will be disqualified.
8. Judging Panel
All entries will be judged and assessed from a holistic purpose and
everything from camera work direction and visual choices to
performance and story elements will be properly observed. The decisions
of the panel of judges in all matters will be final and binding. Festival
organizers reserve the right to change /modify/ Alter any rules or its part
or the event of this competition any time.
9. Mode of Submission
We require an Official poster and synopsis of the Short film for
submission.
