Embarking on the Nblik Community Manager internship, I anticipated a dynamic and

multifaceted role. While the experience was indeed enriching, it also presented its fair
share of challenges. In this reflection, I'll delve into the key challenges encountered
during my internship and the strategies employed to overcome them. These challenges
not only tested my adaptability and problem-solving skills but also provided invaluable
lessons that have shaped my approach to community management.

Challenge 1: Managing Discord in Discussions

Description:
One of the earliest challenges I faced was managing discord in discussions within the
community. Differing opinions and perspectives sometimes escalated into heated
debates, threatening the positive community culture we sought to cultivate.

Strategy:
To address this challenge, I implemented a proactive moderation strategy. This involved
closely monitoring discussions, identifying potential points of conflict, and intervening
early to redirect conversations constructively. I also reinforced the importance of
respectful communication through regular reminders and updates to the community
guidelines.

Lesson Learned:
This challenge underscored the significance of proactive moderation in maintaining a
positive community atmosphere. By addressing discord early on and guiding discussions
towards constructive paths, I not only prevented escalations but also fostered a culture of
respectful dialogue within the community.

Challenge 2: Balancing Freedom of Expression with Community Guidelines

Description:
Finding the delicate balance between allowing freedom of expression and upholding
community guidelines posed a recurring challenge. Some discussions bordered on
controversial topics, requiring careful consideration of how to maintain an inclusive
space without stifling diverse opinions.

Strategy:

17
18

I engaged in open communication with the community, clarifying the boundaries set by
community guidelines while emphasizing the importance of a diverse and inclusive
environment. Additionally, I refined the guidelines to provide clearer expectations,
ensuring that community members felt empowered to express their views within the
defined parameters.

Lesson Learned:
This challenge taught me the importance of clear communication and continuous
refinement of community guidelines. Striking a balance between freedom of expression
and adherence to guidelines requires not only clarity but also a commitment to evolving
guidelines to meet the evolving needs of the community.

Challenge 3: Handling Negative Feedback and Criticism

Description:
Negative feedback and criticism are inevitable in any community. However, navigating
these comments, addressing concerns, and converting negativity into constructive
dialogue presented a challenge. Unresolved issues could potentially tarnish the
community's reputation.

Strategy:
I adopted a proactive approach to negative feedback by acknowledging concerns publicly
and working towards resolutions. Privately addressing community members allowed for
more personalized solutions. Additionally, I used negative feedback as an opportunity to
assess and refine community policies, demonstrating responsiveness to user concerns.

Lesson Learned:
This challenge emphasized the importance of transparency and responsiveness.
Acknowledging and addressing negative feedback not only defused tensions but also
showcased the community's commitment to continuous improvement.

Challenge 4: Scaling Community Management Efforts with Growth

Description:
As the community grew, scaling community management efforts became challenging.
The sheer volume of discussions, user interactions, and feedback required a more robust
strategy to ensure that the quality of engagement was maintained.

Strategy:
To address this, I implemented automation tools for routine tasks, freeing up time for
more personalized interactions. I also recruited and trained a team of community
moderators to assist in monitoring discussions and addressing user queries. Establishing
clear communication channels and protocols streamlined collaboration within the
moderation team.

Lesson Learned:
This challenge taught me the importance of scalability in community management. By
leveraging automation and building a capable moderation team, I not only managed the
growing demands effectively but also enhanced the overall efficiency of community
operations.

18
19

Challenge 5: Adapting to Platform Changes and Technological Hurdles

Description:
Technological challenges and changes in platform features posed an ongoing hurdle.
Adapting to these changes while ensuring a seamless experience for community
members required constant vigilance.

Strategy:
I prioritized staying informed about platform updates, actively engaging with community
members to gather feedback on their experiences, and swiftly addressing any technical
issues. Regularly communicating upcoming changes and providing guidance on new
features helped ease the transition for community members.

Lesson Learned:
This challenge emphasized the need for adaptability in the ever-evolving digital
landscape. Staying informed, actively seeking user feedback, and addressing
technological hurdles promptly are crucial for maintaining a positive user experience

Achievements
One of my most notable achievements during the internship was the substantial growth
of a community I managed, which saw a significant increase in user engagement and
membership. This achievement was the result of effective content curation, targeted user
outreach, and data-driven decision-making.

development and networking. This shift in perception elevated Nblik's brand, positioning
it as a company that actively invested in the growth and well-being of its community
members.

program, received acclaim from both community members and external stakeholders.

Attendees praised the quality of content and the seamless organization of events. These
successful executions not only strengthened community bonds but also attracted positive
attention to Nblik as a company committed to providing valuable experiences.

Intangible Impact:
1. Cultivation of a Positive Community Culture:
Perhaps one of the most rewarding intangible impacts was the cultivation of a positive
community culture. Through consistent engagement, personalized interactions, and a
commitment to inclusivity, the community transformed into a space where members felt
valued, heard, and respected. This sense of belonging contributed to a positive
atmosphere that extended beyond the digital realm.

2. Creation of Brand Advocates:

The focus on user satisfaction and the delivery of valuable content resulted in the
creation of brand advocates within the community. These advocates not only actively
participated in discussions but also became ambassadors for Nblik, promoting the
platform within their professional networks. The emergence of brand advocates
showcased the organic growth of Nblik's positive reputation within the community.

3. Enhanced Community Trust:

The meticulous handling of community feedback, prompt resolution of issues, and
transparent communication contributed to an enhanced level of trust within the

explore superlative content and make friends who share your interests. Discover topics
like - time management, productivity, health, money, communication, teamwork,
personal growth. leadership, and several other. Chat, can connect, and conspire with

can share content and earn money on this platform, We Can learn lot of things as
mentioned like time management, Can improve communications skills this is the main
benefit that we get from this internship all this thinks motivates me a lot Our
monetization model is not in its mature form. We are in the research process of better

21
22

revenue models. Eg: We could be an educational marketing" platform for corporate,

NGOs, and other institutions. The assumed model for now, for all practical purposes, is
to identify the ideal advertisers in each category and keeping these advertisers in
perspective, identify the content type that matches our quality expectation.

Basically, there are two ways of making money on Nblik, which motivates us the most in
doing this internship though:

By writing articles-You can write articles, poems, short stories, etc. You will be paid on
the basis of engagement on your post. Make sure your article is liked and shared by your
friends. Remember, Nblik credits are transferred after bar goes 100% and bar goes to
100% only and if all Nblik writer guidelines are being followed, so make sure that you
abide by the rules.

⚫ By using the refer and earn feature - When you click on the refer and earn option of
the app, you get a link of your own, you can share that link with people through various
social media platforms. They need to make sure that they install from that link only. The
more people you refer, the more you earn.

Importance of Community Manager

Community managers are responsible for building and maintaining a brand's community
online and public perception. The job requires engaging audiences on a variety of outlets
including online forums, social media platforms, Slack, in-person groups, and more to
reach all audiences where they are. Since different digital spaces have unique cultures
and best practices. community managers must be the consistent tone and voice of the
brand. As a community manager, all your messaging, content, and crisis management
across networks should be prompt, consistent with your brand, and empathetic to create a
loyal and delighted community. An easily forgotten resource is an external network of
other community managers! Finding others in similar positions can be very helpful in
crowdsourcing informed solutions or leaning on experienced others who've handled
similar situations in the past. community managers also record and report the
engagement they see on at least a monthly basis. Other teams that create content operate
mostly on the backend, so it's the community manager who sees the response from
consumers. They can help track whether followers are confused, or what kinds of
changes they are seeing within digital.

Initially, we are on boarding control groups to our platform through LinkedIn,

DeviantArt, Quora and other platforms. We have set in comprehensive content guidelines
for each category and trust these creators for the type of content we want. That means we
are engaging the community to build the critical content volume to bring more users.
Once we will broadly market our platform to new users, they shall automatically train
their minds to create a particular type of content that we had created as a precursor
earlier with our control groups. We are on boarding 50 writers a day with 3500+ total
users as on date. We are engaging with our users to continue to define the content
standards that we want in each category. The platform is open to everyone but we have

22
23

marketed it only to an initial control group. We are in the process of building our
intelligent system to nudge the content created by our users.

user experience, community engagement, and the overall impact of Nblik's online
presence.

by focusing on specific objectives that align with Nblik's broader mission and goals. My
internship objectives are designed to enhance the community management efforts of
Nblik, foster engagement, and support the platform's growth. These objectives are
instrumental in creating a vibrant and thriving community that embodies Nblik's vision
of connecting people and promoting meaningful interactions.

Objective 1: Enhance Community Engagement

One of my primary internship objectives is to enhance community engagement on

Nblik's platform. I aim to achieve this by devising and implementing strategies that
encourage users to actively participate, share, and interact within the community. This
involves creating and curating relevant and engaging content, initiating discussions, and
responding to user queries and feedback promptly.

This objective aligns with Nblik's mission of connecting people, as a more engaged
community leads to more meaningful interactions. By fostering a sense of belonging and
encouraging users to share their knowledge, experiences, and insights, I can help Nblik
build a stronger and more closely-knit community. This, in turn, enhances Nblik's
reputation as a platform that facilitates genuine connections and knowledge-sharing.

Objective 2: Develop and Implement a Content Calendar

To support the first objective, I plan to create and manage a content calendar for Nblik's
community. This content calendar will include a schedule of posts, discussions, and
events that cater to the interests and needs of the community members. It will help in
maintaining a consistent flow of content, keeping the community engaged, and ensuring
that the platform remains a valuable resource for users.

The content calendar objective is in line with Nblik's goal of providing a structured and
organized platform for users to connect and exchange knowledge. By planning and
delivering content systematically, I contribute to the platform's reliability, making it a
go-to place for users seeking information and community engagement.

Objective 3: Monitor and Analyze Community Metrics

To measure the success of community management efforts, I intend to monitor and

analyze community metrics such as user engagement, post reach, and member feedback.
By tracking these metrics, I can identify areas that need improvement, assess the impact
of different strategies, and make data-driven decisions to enhance the community's
overall performance.

This objective supports Nblik's mission to continuously improve and evolve the
platform. By providing valuable insights through data analysis, I can contribute to
Nblik's efforts to create a more user-centric and efficient community platform, ultimately
39
40

aligning with the organization's goal of making Nblik the best place for knowledge
sharing and connection.

Objective 4: Build Stronger Relationships with Community Members

Developing strong relationships with community members is crucial for the success of
Nblik. I aim to create a strategy that focuses on connecting with active users,
understanding their needs, and addressing any concerns or suggestions they may have.
By actively participating in discussions, showing appreciation for members'
contributions, and being responsive to their inquiries, I will build a rapport that fosters
trust and loyalty.

This objective aligns with Nblik's broader mission of connecting people, as strong
relationships within the community lead to a more supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
By ensuring that users feel valued and heard, I contribute to the sense of community and
togetherness that Nblik seeks to establish.

In conclusion, my internship objectives for the Nblik Community Manager role are
designed to enhance community engagement, provide structured content, monitor
performance through data analysis, and build strong relationships with community
members. These objectives not only benefit Nblik's mission and goals but also contribute
to a more vibrant, connected, and informed community on the platform. I am excited to
work towards achieving these objectives and playing my part in Nblik's journey towards
creating a thriving and meaningful community.

Outcomes

The outcome of this course was to have a better understanding of the role and
responsibility of the community manager and acquire Strategies that will help the
community manager efficiently fulfill those role and responsibilities. To build the
positive relationships with the members of your community -- whether they have a
positive impression of your brand or a negative one you're building a reputable and
trustworthy brand perception. Online communities offer benefits throughout the
customer lifecycle - but only if they are managed well. By consolidating your brand
presence and making it easy to view your full array of content in one place, communities
drive stickiness. The First outcome was that you should be able to apply the
"transformation model" to identify the inputs, transformation processes and outputs of
the communities.

The transformation model is a tool for analysing any type of community in terms of the
inputs, transformation process and outputs involved in the community manager function.
This session described the transformation model and Activity 4 gave you the chance to
apply it to a number of very different communities.

40
41

They give a single view of the customer journey, from the first piece of content
downloaded. through to webinars and live events, to being a customer and beyond. The
engagement with customers and more consistent interaction provided by a community
boosts retention, due to the personal relationship you are able to cultivate with each one
of your customers. Over the long term, consistently engaging your customers in a
community setting will mean more positive word-of-mouth, meaning your brand will
develop more concrete leads over the long term. However, it is vital that your community
is managed closely and with great attention to detail; a poorly-run community where
customers' needs are not met will have the inverse effect on your long-term growth.
