The compilation of over 42 lakh essays on the brave Ahom General Lachit Borphukan has been
recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Largest Online Photo Album of Handwritten Notes".

Lachit Borphukan
He was born on November 24, 1622 in Charaideo, the first capital of the Ahom kings.
He effectively led his army in the Battle of Saraighat in 1671, which defeated the Mughal army's attempt to capture

Governor of Goa, P S Sreedharan Pillai has presented the 57th Jnanpith Award, the
country's highest literary honor, to Goan writer Damodar Mauzo.
25 books have been published in Konkani and one in English.
He is the second Goan to receive the Jnanpith Award, after Ravindra Kelekar, who
received the award in 2008.

She has been awarded the prize for the French translation of her compilation of
essays titled "Azadi" (2021).
The French translation 'Liberte, fascisme, fiction' appeared in the leading French
publishing group, Gallimard.

Dr Tedros played an inspirational role in ensuring the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 took place, and

Etikoppaka Toys Craftsman : Selected For Padma Awards

Etikoppaka toys are traditional toys made by artisans of Etikoppaka village located on the
banks of Varaha River in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.
The artisans mainly use the wood from trees known as ‘ankudu’ (Wrightia Tinctoria) that
is soft in nature.
These toys have no sharp edges. They are rounded on all sides. Etikoppaka toys received Geographical Indication (GI)
tag IN 2017.

At a special award ceremony in Upper Nile, 1,171 peacekeepers from India deployed with

For the first time, a woman officer of the Indian Army, Major Jasmine Chatha, led the
parade of the Indian contingent at the award ceremony in Upper Nile.
India is one of the largest troop-contributing countries to UN peacekeeping missions
