BEFORE ENGINE START CARRIER OPS BEFORE TAXI

3. MASTER RESET PRESS
2. Right Throttle IDLE (>20%)
4. WING SWEEP MODE AUTO
3. Crank Switch Left Engine 5. WING SWEEP VERIFY 20° (FULL FORWARD)
4. Left Throttle IDLE (>20%) 6. FLAPS DOWN
7. NOSE STRUT SWITCH KNEEL

12. Fuel Dump Switch OFF
13. Throttle Mode Switch AUTO
14. Engine Mode Select Switch PRI (BOTH)
15. SAS Switches ON (ALL 3)
16. RADIO 1 On & SET
17.TACAN SET
18. EXT. AIR CART DISCONNECT
19. EXT. POWER CART DISCONNECT
RECOVERY CASE I

1* INDOUND Marshal gives you visibility, clouds, altimeter pressure, BRC

 TACAN to chip chanel and PLT


 STEER CMD to AWL/PCD
 HSD HDG & CRS to chip BRC
 HUD AWL to ILS
 VDI AWL to ILS
 MODE to LDG
 ICLS ON to chip chanel
2* LIGHTS exterior
3* SEE YOU AT 10’
4* Wing sweap full rearward (68°)
5* Enter in holding stack
6* Holding pattern at 2000 ft minimum
7* CHARLIE
7* Breaking the deck an descent to 800 ft at 350 kt
8* HOOK down
9* Starboard side at 800 ft hook down
10* Break at 1NM (RNG on HSD)
11* KISS OFF
12* Idle + speed brakes
13* Wing Sweap to AUTO at 300 kt
14* 250 kt GEAR DOWN
15* 225 kt FLAPS DOWN
16* DLC ON
17* Descent to 600 ft
18* AOA at 15 units and speed indexer
19* Left turn descent to 500 ft (400 to 500 ft/min)
20* Glide Slope
21* TOMCAT BALL
RECOVERY CASE II

1. INDOUND Marshal will assign a holding location, altitude, approach time


Gives you BRC, Altimeter, Distance DME, Angels altitude, commencing time
 TACAN to chip chanel and PLT
 STEER CMD to TACAN
 HSD HDG & CRS to chip BRC
 HUD AWL to ILS
 VDI AWL to ILS
 MODE to LDG
 ICLS ON to chip chanel

2. ESTABLISHED Once at holding stack (more than 21 nm behind the carrier)

3. COMMENCING At TIME and reduce to 250 KIAS


Gives you Radar contact DME, final bearing

4. Descend to 5000 AGL at 4000 ft/m and 250 KIAS and call CHECK IN

5. At 5000 AGL call PLATFORM

6. Continue to be at 1200 AGL at 10 NM to the carrier and call SEE YOU AT 10’

7. Descend to be at 800 AGL at 3 NM to the carrier

8. Continue RECOVERY CASE I


CASE III *Approach fly modes :

- Mode 1 : Full automated landing :


1. INDOUND Marshal will assign a holding location, altitude, approach time
o Ask RIO to DATALINK with carrier
Gives you BRC, Altimeter, Distance DME, Angels altitude, commencing time
o TACAN to chip chanel and PLT
Choose a fly mode* o ICLS ON to chip chanel
o STEER CMD to AWL/PCD
2. ESTABLISHED Once at holding stack (more than 21 nm behind the carrier) o MODE to LDG
o HUD AWL to ACL
3. COMMENCING At TIME and reduce to 250 KIAS o VDI AWL to ACL
Gives you Radar contact DME, final bearing o HSD HDG & CRS to final BRC
o Autopilot to ACL and ENGAGE
4. Descent to 5000 AGL at 4000 ft/m and 250 KIAS and call CHECK IN o Throttle to AUTO
o At ACLS lock engage NWS (on stick)
5. At 5000 AGL call PLATFORM CMD CONTROL appear

6. Continue descent to be at 1200 AGL at 10 NM to the carrier - Mode 1A : Automated till BALL call then manual :
o Same as Mode 1
7. Level at 1200 AGL and configure for landing at 150 KIAS at 6 NM o At BALL disengage AUTOPILOT by
pressing NWS switch
8. Switch on STEER CMD to AWL/PCD
- Mode 2 : All manually with needles with or without auto throttle
9. At 6 NM, ACLS lock and fly needles

10. Reduce on speed

11. At ¾ miles on speed call TOMCAT BALL (or CLARA if IFLOLS not on visual)
