Comparison of Academic Stress in Students of Public and Private Universities

in Peru

● The causes of stress for Public and private university students are too many
assignments, teacher demands, the type of work they are ordered to do, the unclear
time for giving assignments, and the limited time to complete them.
● At private universities requirements and demands are stress factors that students feel
as limitations due to the workload imposed on them
● At public universities it was found that students had more symptoms like depression,
anxiety, concentration problems and lethargy caused by the stress they developed in
virtual classes.

This study shows differences in academic stress levels in students of public and private
unirvesities compared using socio-demographic variables and found that the academic stress
levels of students of public and private universities in general are moderate with a high
tendency and high self-perception of students, indicating that virtual and mixed education

Perception of lecturers of public and private universities on the importance of
university’s intellectual capital: A case study in West Sumatra province of
Indonesia

● This research has a limited focus on three elements of intellectual capital, namely
human capital, structural capital and relational capital of intellectual capital.

● Public university lecturers show an important perception of intellectual capital for

universities compared to private university lecturers. This is due to the roles and
responsibilities of state universities which are funded and managed by the
government, therefore State universities must carry out programs from the
government to develop better universities. whereas private universities are managed
and financed by foundations, and they are very dependent on funding from
foundations.
● Public universities need more support and training for the career development of
lecturers, staff and student mobility, while respondents at private universities feel that
universities do not have adequate support for the career development of lecturers,
students and staff and mobility. This shows that public universities provide a high
standard of lecture material.

With the perception of public and private universities, we can see that the intellectual capital
of higher education is important. This emphasizes that academics' perceptions of intellectual
capital in universities are the most important and strategic resources for all universities
which are useful for maintaining the quality of academics.

Current Scenario of Public Universities Vs Private Universities in India: A

Brief Discussion

Public and private Universities have differences that can be seen in university size and
demographics, funding, tuition fees, number of courses, programs offered by faculties,
research opportunities, placements, campus life and infrastructure.

● Public Universities charge low fees and provide government-guaranteed degrees but
they lack infrastructure, such as regular access to faculty, placement services and
direct access to professors and class discussions. Private Universities do not guarantee
a degree like Public Universities but they provide the best platform for students to
explore their talents, have excellent infrastructure facilities, and all possible assistance
during placement to students.
● Public universities typically have vibrant communities with a thriving variety of
extracurricular opportunities and events. Whereas, private Universities may still have
very diverse communities and lots of extracurricular opportunities, but these are
usually all on a smaller scale.
● Public universities have a larger Student Executive Board and offer a wider variety of
degrees and programs. Private universities do not have the same wide range of majors
as public universities.
Research Competencies: A Comparative Study in Public and Private
Universities

● This research reveals that research competence is limited, because most professors
lack the necessary background knowledge, training, and mindset to use research
methodologies and approaches in a systematic manner.
● Public universities (50%) have more professors with advanced research skills than
private universities (37%). Similarly, public universities have 50% fewer teachers
with low research competence than private universities (37%)
● Lecturers at public universities have scored higher on competency research than
lecturers at private universities, therefore academics at Public universities have
excellent research skills.

Research competence of professors in public and private universities states that the difference
in research competence between professors in public and private institutions affecting their
research publications is significant. Findings from public and private institutions indicate that
different levels of research skill and competency substantially influence the research
publications of these professors. Lecturers' research competence is their ability and
disposition to criticize what they do, how they do it, with mastery of logic to solve any
problem in reworking knowledge.

STUDI KOMPARASI PENGATURAN DIRI DALAM BELAJAR MAHASISWA DI

PERGURUAN TINGGI NEGERI DAN PERGURUAN TINGGI SWASTA

● Self-regulation in student learning at public universities is lower than that of

students at private universities.

factors, behavioral factors, and environmental factors.
● Environmental factors dominate the assumption that there are differences in
self-regulation in student learning at Public Universities and Private Universities
● Self-regulation in learning for Private Universities is higher than that of Public
Universities, perhaps because they are more influenced by personal factors.
● It seems that student learning settings are more influenced by personal factors,
which is students who can use personal (cognitive) processes to strategically
manage behavior and the surrounding learning environment.

Self-regulation in student learning at public universities and private universities is

strongly influenced by personal factors. therefore the self-regulation of private tertiary
