UNDERSTANDING YOUR PRODUCT
I. UPS FRONT PANEL DESCRIPTION
A B C D E F G H
Fig (1)
A. UPS MODE LED: UPS mode is set to run PC load. UPS mode LED glows when the front
panel ON/OFF switch is pressed for 5 seconds continuously until second beep sound
occurs. By default unit will be in NORMAL mode. In order to change the mode from
NORMAL to UPS and vice versa follow the above step.
B. MAINS ON LED: Glows steady when the mains is available within the normal limits (90-
290V in NORMAL mode and 180-260V in UPS mode) and blinks when mains out of range
(If Mains voltage goes below the specified voltage range, i.e. Low cut condition - 2 blinks,
If Mains voltage goes above the specified voltage range, i.e. High cut condition - 3
blinks).
C. CHARGE LED: This will blinks when battery is charging and Glows steady when battery
is charged ( For Tubular battery selection - 3 blinks, for Flat Plate battery selection - 2
blinks ).
D. BACKUP LED: This LED will glow steady when the UPS is in backup mode due to mains
failure or out of range.
E. LOW BATT LED: Blinks during low battery warning and glows steady after low battery
shutdown with buzzer indication.
F. OVERLOAD LED: Blinks when loading above it’s specified capacity and blinks with
continuous buzzer after overload shutdown. It is advisable that connected load in bypass
should not be more than the rated capacity of UPS.
G. CHK WATER LED: Blinks to remind user for checking water level of battery with buzzer
indication. Fill distilled water of required amount to battery without overflowing and press
ON/OFF switch once to clear the indication.
H. ON/OFF SWITCH: This switch can be used to make the unit ON/OFF and this can be
done by pressing the switch continuously for 1 second until a beep sound occurs.
BACKUP LED will be OFF when the unit is in OFF mode. If the unit is in OFF mode, the load
connected at the output will not work in the event of mains failure, however charging will
continue if mains is in normal limit. The switch also works as a reset in an event of
overload & low battery shutdown. When the switch is in ON condition the switch glows &
it will not glow if the Switch is OFF.

1. MAINS RCB: This is connected in line with the MAINS input to UPS. This will trip to
disconnect the mains to save the product in case of short circuit at load side or excess
overload in Mains mode. It is recommended not to connect excess load in UPS output
and it should be limited to rated capacity only to avoid RCB tripping.
2. OUTPUT SOCKET: This is provided for connecting the loads that will run through the
UPS while power is not available. It is recommended to use ISI mark plug for this.
3. POWER SAVER MAX. / NORMAL SWITCH: This system is equipped with a Power
Saver selection switch on back panel to select the inverter output as per user
requirement. On Power Saver MAX condition system voltage in backup mode will be
220V. In NORMAL condition system voltage in backup mode will be 240V.
4. HC & NC SELECTION SWITCH: This can be used to select the charging current of
UPS. Keep the switch in HC when using 135 - 230Ah battery & in NC when using 80 -
120Ah battery. It is recommended to keep this switch in NC position for flat plate
batteries.
5. TUB, FP & LOCAL / SMF SELECTION SWITCH: This is battery selection mode. If
the battery used is tubular type, select TUB (Tubular) mode. If the battery used is flat
plate type, then select FP (Flat Plate). If the battery used is any Local make / SMF,
select LOCAL mode for optimum performance. This setting is very critical and needs to
be done within 30 minutes of installation. After that the setting cannot be done without
disconnecting the battery. Wrong setting can deteriorate the UPS backup and can even
cause damage to battery.
6. MAINS LEAD: This is used to connect input mains supply to the UPS. Ensure
earthing drop between Input ‘Neutral’ and ‘Earth’ below 1V to avoid electric shock
due to earth leakage.
7. POSITIVE BATTERY WIRE: Connect the positive battery wire (Red) to positive
terminal of battery.
8. NEGATIVE BATTERY WIRE: Connect the negative battery wire (Black) to negative
terminal of battery.
Before doing troubleshooting must read and understand basic safety precaution carefully.
