Fox and A Cat

One day a cat and a fox were having a conversation. The fox, who was a conceited creature, boasted how clever she
was. 'Why, I know at least a hundred tricks to get away from our mutual enemies, the dogs,' she said. 'I know only
one trick to get away from dogs,' said the cat. 'You should teach me some of yours!' 'Well, maybe someday, when I
have the time, I may teach you a few of the simpler ones,' replied the fox airily.

Just then they heard the barking of a pack of dogs in the distance. The barking grew louder and louder - the dogs
were coming in their direction! At once the cat ran to the nearest tree and climbed into its branches, well out of reach
of any dog. 'This is the trick I told you about, the only one I know,' said the cat. 'Which one of your hundred tricks
are you going to use?' The fox sat silently under the tree, wondering which trick she should use. Before she could
make up her mind, the dogs arrived. They fell upon the fox and tore her to pieces.

Fishing

Last week, l went to the lake for fishing. It was the suitable time for fishing because I had nothing to do. I went there
with my friends.

I woke up earlier in the morning and prepared everything. Not long after that, my friends came and we went to the
lake we have decided before to start fishing. Arriving at the lake, I directly searched the best spot to get a giant fish.
After searching for about ten minutes, finally I found the spot. It was under the big tree at the bank of the lake. I
threw my hook as far as I could then I waited for the fish eating my bait. It had been 15 minutes and i finally saw the
sign that there was a fish eating my bait. I tried to pull it up and i succeeded. I got a three kilogram fish. I was so
excited. I threw the hook again and again. I got more than ten fish that day. I enjoyed the moment so much that i
didn’t realized that the sun had already set. I called my friends and we went home.
I got so many fish that day even though i was so tired. I think i will visit the spot again in the next holiday.

Bee
Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, and are known for their role in pollination and for
producing honey and beeswax. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees in nine recognized families.
They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated
flowering plants.
Bees have a long proboscis that enables them to obtain the nectar from flowers. They have antennae almost
universally made up of 13 segments in males and 12 in females, as is typical for the super family.

Flooding in Jakarta
The flooding, caused by days of heavy rain at Jakarta, has blocked roads and forced businesses in the capital to
close. The governor of Jakarta has declared a state of emergency. He also said he was committed to making a
"breakthrough" in efforts to tackle the flooding. Jakarta resident, Wildan, urged the government to do more to stop
floods in the future. "The dams are no longer sufficient to hold the water," he said.
Yayat Supriatna, an urban planning expert, told the BBC that Jakarta's drainage system "is still the same as it was in
the Dutch colonial era" and should be rebuilt. "The floods are caused by the failure to manage and sustain the rivers
as water reservoirs. I suggest the governor dredge the rivers because if the rivers are deeper the better [the system]
will function."
The Jakarta Post said two of the people killed in the capital were children, aged 13 and two. State funds are available
to help those affected by the flooding following the declaration of a state of emergency, which will remain in effect
until 27 January.

How Snow is Made?
We all agree that the snowfall is always fascinating. In the snowfall, all people stay out of the house and play with
the snow. People can make giant snowmen, trample along the snow, or play with snowballs with their families.
However, are you curious about how snow is made?
Snow is water droplets falling from the clouds. These droplet waters then become solid and create snow. It happens
because rain consists of water vapor particles being cooled in the air.
Snow happens when water vapor piled up in the earth’s atmosphere freezes. It happens before they turn into water
droplets. This process occurs when the temperature in the cloud becomes very frigid.
Snowflakes are created by crystals of ice that have established around a little filth in the air. They then grow from
small forms into big one. The form of snowflakes is varied. They can consist of 200 crystals maximum.

Why We Shouldn't Skip Breakfast?

Thesis: Breakfast is the first of three important meals you should eat during the day. It can be hard to eat
breakfast if you’re busy, but skipping your first meal of the day can affect the rest of your day. Learn the
importance of eating breakfast and some breakfast ideas.
Arguments: Breakfast is important for many reasons. Breakfast gives you the energy you need to start the day.
When you eat breakfast, you are not as hungry during the day. You will have more energy for school and other
activities.
Breakfast keeps your bones healthy and helps you maintain a healthier weight.
If you don’t eat breakfast, you might gain extra weight. This is because eating breakfast jumpstarts your
metabolism (how your body breaks down food to use as energy). When you skip breakfast, your metabolism
slows down.
Reiteration: It’s important for your family to model healthy eating behaviors and not skip meals. If your
family eats breakfast every day, the children are more likely to eat breakfast every day too. Breakfast the most
important meal of the day to keep energize us throughout the day.

Schools should walk line with pros and cons of cellphones

Thesis: Cellphones are a great tool. If you have a smartphone in your pocket, you have more than just a way to
call home. You can take a picture or make a video. You can send an email or read a book. A smartphone is an
encyclopedia and a calculator, a ruler and a compass, a mirror and a flashlight, a television and a magnifying
glass, and infinitely more.
Arguments: They can be addictive. They can be distracting. They can be loud. They can also spark
competition. Do you have the latest? The most fashionable? The most functional? The most expensive?
They can disrupt dinner tables and movies. They are restricted on airplanes and can be limited at hospitals.
And so it’s not surprising that schools are struggling with how to handle them in the classroom. While the age
when someone gets their first phone varies by family or child, Pew Research Center says 96% of students high
school age or younger have cellphones.
Some schools embrace this. Kids will have the phones, so why not integrate them into lessons? Why ask
parents to buy expensive scientific calculators when a $1 app can serve the same purpose? Why can’t the
camera be used to make movies for presentations or take pictures for slide shows?
Some try to limit the temptations. Schools in United States will use a tool of magnetic locks to prevent access
to phones during the day. Others are more low-tech, requiring kids to turn phones off or stow them away at the
start of class.
Recommendation: Schools should absolutely have a way to keep control and teach kids how to do math
without the calculator app. However, maybe that control should stop short of preventing calls home until we
are better at keeping violence locked out of schools.

Left behind

Last summer I had a plan to go on a business trip with my colleagues. We were supposed to meet at
the train station at 10 AM, but I was late.
I had predicted that I wouldn’t be late. But I was wrong. When I arrived at the train station, all my
colleagues had gone. I was panicked as the meeting would be held at 2 PM.
The worst thing was, all train tickets were sold. Suddenly a man came and asked to switch tickets. He
had a ticket for the next train and I should buy a ticket for tomorrow’s trip.
I agree.
When I was passing the gate, I was very nervous as the name on the ticket was not written on my
name.
Lucky me, they didn’t check my ID and let me pass. Fiuh.
