Suggestions for your Safety

In addition to the safety precautions provided in the Instructions for Use and
Maintenance Manual, normal accident precautions are also observed.

First of all, the following should be considered;

1) Do not overload the lowbed; always observe the maximum loads permitted by law.
2) To unload the load, first make sure that there are no people around the Lowbed.
3) For safety reasons, Lowbed should be used in accordance with the design and
construction purpose.
Note: The warning plates on the vehicle must be kept clean and legible. Consider the warning
labels.
A. Vehicle Design Purpose:
Designed for the transport of boat-building machinery and transformer materials and materials.
Not for animal and human transport.

B. Use of the Vehicle in Traffic:

Make sure that the ramps is closed/fixed before moving.

C. Lowbed Safety Arm:

In case of maintenance, always use the safety switch in the upright position.

D. Loading the Lowbed:

When loading the vehicle, make sure that there is no risk that the load will fall.
Do not move the truck without coupling the load.

E. Discharge:
Make sure there is enough space around the vehicle.
Follow the unloading process from start to finish.

OPERATOR MANUAL

Axles and Suspension System

Semi-Trailer is designed with 3 axles, rear axle is self-steering.

Periodic Maintenance and Controls - Torque Control

Connection nuts should be controlled according

to torque values specified in the picture on the
right. In case of determination of different
torque values, they must be retightened properly.
The nuts and pins which are not retightened
properly can cause problems such as deforming,
tearing and rupture while using the vehicle. It is
important to follow the torque values for long
usage of parts. These controls are responsibility
of user. Faults that occurs because of disruption
of controls are accepted unwarrantable.

Bolts and nuts must be tightened in order that is

mentioned in the mounting rim picture. Bolts
must be torqued and after first loading, torque
control must be made when the vehicle is
unloaded.
Faults that occurs because of loose nuts are
accepted as unwarrantable. Rim centering ring
must be used in mounting double tires and
single tires. The rims must be mounted by using
centering ring regardless of how many bolts rims
have.
The mounting without centering ring may cause
disproportionate load on hub center. In double
tire mounting double ring must be used and
both rims must be centered.

The brake linings can be consumed up to 5 mm

thickness. (up to dusky colored area that shown
in picture

Thinner brake lining damages brake drum.

If the thickness of the linings becomes less than
5 mm, the linings must be changed without
waiting the time of periodic maintenance.

Lubricating Hub and Bearing

Grease must be impregnated inside and outside

of bearings and Grease must be put inner bowls
of hub. Oil seal must be greased and also extra
Grease must be added to the gap between
bearings.

Hub Bearing Maintenance

Hub bearing maintenance and adjustment must

be made in each maintenance and if needed it
should be changed with a new one. The
oil/lubrication condition must be checked in
each maintenance. Bearing must not be used
without oil and must not be exposed to
overheating.
Hub cap mounting is made toothed and
pronged. Metal caps are mounted by screwing
and plastic caps are mounted by bead seats.
In case of any crash of any prong or
deformation of o-ring they must be replaced
immediately.
Plastic caps must be checked daily in case of any
oil leakage or crack. Driving must not be made if
the cap is cracked or has any deformation. The
faults that occurs because of not changing the
cap on time are accepted unwarrantable.

Air Suspension

Check the air bags for external damage (surface

cracking, abrasion, crease formation, trapped
foreign bodies)
-Replace air bags when any damage is
determined.
No welding should be carried out on steel parts
of air bags and pressure vessel. The air
suspension should only be filled with
compressed air. Danger for injury!
Check air bag fastenings bolts and/or nuts
tightness.
-Tightening torque

Shock Absorbers

 Every 12 months
 Check upper and lower fastenings
tightness
 Check the upper and lower shock
absorber bushings for clearance.

Checking Pivot Bolts

Every 12 months
M24: 650 Nm
M30:900 Nm
Check Bushes, move vehicle back and forth
slightly with the brake applied or move rolled
spring ends with the aid of a lever. While doing
these, there should be no gap in the spring
connection. If the fastening is loose, the spring
pivot bolt may be damaged.
Check the lateral wear washers in the hanger
bracket.
Check the tightness of the M24 or M30 lock nut
on the spring pivot bolts.
Checking Spring Mounting
M22: 550 NmM24: 650 Nm
Check lock nuts of spring U-bolts for tightness.
If loose, tighten nuts slowly in opposite
positions.

OPERATOR MANUAL

Steering Axle

Self-steering axles must have a fail-safe means of locking the wheels in a straight-ahead position
whenever the vehicle is being reversed. System locks and unlocks the self-steering axles when
reversing.
Before reversing, the driver moves the semi-trailer forwards to align the trailer wheels. Then, by
selecting reverse, the solenoid-powered locking pin drops in place thereby preventing the self-
steer axle from moving out of alignment with the foremost trailer axles. After completing the
reversing maneuver and selecting a forward gear, the locking pin is withdrawn allowing the self-
steering axle free movement.

STEERING AXLE FUNCTIONALITY;

 On forward direction – It is limited after 35 km/h.
 On reverse direction – It is automatically blocked.
 Maximum steering angle is 17 ͦ

 Locking system of steering axle works

with air. In order to fix the axle, it is
needed to give the air to steering bellow
and locking piston.
 The air given to piston must be less than
the air given to steering bellow.
Locking piston:1 bar
Steering bellow: 5 bars (are suitable values)
Axle rot adjustments are made by left and right
collars on the axle. While making this adjustment
axle must be at locked position. Turning
(steering angle) is adjusted by stop bolts.
If the rot adjustment is not corrected and the
angle of steering is spoilt, it causes faults on axle.
In maintenance, these controls must be made
without interruption. The faults because of these
reasons are accepted as unwarrantable.
The axle turns with the movement of the vehicle
according to driving direction. While driving the
air of locking piston must be release.
Before back movement the axle must be fixed by
giving air to locking piston.
Certainly, back movement must not be made
before locking the axle. The faults while back
movement without locking are accepted as
unwarrantable.

Disconnecting the Semi-trailer

 Park the trailer on firm, flat and level ground. Put a suitable base underneath the landing
gear if necessary
 Check the landing gear for damage and have any damage repaired before use.
 Engage high or low gear and wind down landing gear.
 Change over from high gear to low gear before the foot makes contact with the ground.
 When you have finished turning the crank handle, slowly relieve the strain on the crank.
There is the risk of recoil by the crank.
 Disconnect the tractor vehicle making required adjustment to the fifth wheel.
 Hook the crank into the crank holder.
 The disconnected trailer must not be moved, even with the ‘’T-foot’’.

Connecting the Semi-Trailer

 Engage low gear and adjust the coupling height
 Completely retract the landing gear after hitching up.
 Hook the crank into the crank holder with a gear engaged.
