Table 8.0 : Pavement Condition Index Data For Section 15

From the form, the Highest Deduct Value (HDV) is 58

To find the allowable number of deducts, this formula will be used:

The value of m = 5.6

The deduct value in descending order is 50, 31, 30, 27, 10, 2, 2, 0
Number of deduct value is 8

Since the maximum allowable number of deducts is 5.6, therefore only the first 5 and 0.6 of the 6th
deduct value are selected, ie, 50 ,31, 30, 27, 10 and 0.6x2 = 1.2

Maximum Corrected Deduct Value (CDV) will be determine using this method:
Number of deduct values greater than 2, q = 5
Total deduct value is 50+31+30+27+10+1.2 = 150.2
NO QUANTITY TOTAL q CDV

1 50 31 30 27 10 1.2 150.2 6 83
2 50 31 30 27 10 2 150 5 83
3 50 31 30 27 2 2 142 4 85
4 50 31 30 2 2 2 117 3 72
5 50 31 2 2 2 2 89 2 64
6 50 2 2 2 2 2 60 1 60
From the table, Max. CDV = 85
Reduce the smallest individual deduct value to 2 (q is now 5)
Determine of the Pavement Condition Index using the formula:

PCI = 100 – CDVma

100 - 85= 15

Based on the rating for PCI value of 15, this section of pavement is in very poor condition.

Table 9.0 : Pavement Condition Index Data For Section 17

From the form, the Highest Deduct Value (HDV) is 22
The value of m = 8.16

The deduct value in descending order is 22, 9, 9, 3, 2

Number of deduct value is 5
Since the maximum allowable number of deducts is 8.16 , All the deducted values are selected ei, 22,
9, 9, 3, 2

Maximum Corrected Deduct Value (CDV) will be determine using this method:
Number of deduct values greater than 2, q = 3
Total deduct value is 22 + 9 + 9 + 3 + 2 = 45

5 22 2 2 2 2 30 1 30
From the table, Max. CDV = 30
Reduce the smallest individual deduct value to 2 (q is now 4)

Determine of the Pavement Condition Index using the formula:

PCI = 100 – CDVmax

100 - 30 = 70

Based on the rating for PCI value of 45, this section of pavement is in good condition.
