OPEN FRAME CRIMPING TOOLS

The Mil-C-22520 (Type 2) Crimp Tools feature a system of

interchangeable dies which eliminate the need for separate fixed
die crimp tools for each and every application. Dies are available
for various crimps types including: Mil-C-39012, Mil-C-39029,
Mil-T-7928, MS25036, MS20659 and Mil-S-81824.

 PNEUMATIC AND BATTERY OPERATED CRIMPING TOOLS

For high volume applications where there is a potential for operator

fatigue, we offer a range of pneumatic tools to increase productivity.
Only requiring an air line these are easy to operate and utilise the
same positioners, turret heads and die sets as our hand tools.

Also available are speciality pneumatic tools to support first and

second end terminations to help ease the manufacturing process.

• The QA Automatic Positioner Series allows the user to crimp the

contact without the need for a finger press or foot pedal.

• The LC-X1 variant features a reduced air cylinder profile,

allowing it to fit easily into the operator’s hand, and has a lower
weight than the standard tool. This makes it beneficial when
working on wiring form boards.

Alternatively if portability is required we have a range of battery

operated tools, designed to perform the same function as the
pneumatic tool without the need for an air-line.

PNEUMATIC LARGE GAUGE CRIMPING TOOLS

The Mil-DTL-22520/23 Crimp Tool is designed to provide an indent

crimp in the larger gauge contacts. Using interchangeable dies and
locators, the tool crimps sizes 8 to 4/0 AWG.

WIRING SYSTEM MAINTENANCE KITS

DMC Wiring System Maintenance Kits are used extensively to repair wiring systems
onboard military and commercial aircraft. Kits are customised for individual aircraft to
provide everything required for wire preparation, contact termination and insertion/removal
and are supplied with comprehensive operational instructions for the repair and replacement
of contacts, terminals and shield terminations. Wiring system maintenance kits have been
produced for all popular aircraft models and types and are also available for avionic
equipment, land vehicles and shipboard applications.

All kits are packaged in hand transportable cases or workshop cabinets, with individual
foam cut outs to visually indicate any missing tools - thus minimising the FOD risk.

 AS5768/1 WIRE STRIPPER TOOLS AND BLADES

Astro Tool Corporation has developed a complete range of AS5768/1 wire stripper
tools and blades.
These provide a consistent, easy wire stripping action by utilising a unique
“Drop-Target” blade, designed to improve stripping accuracy via the use of a high
contrast target circle around each cutting slot to properly locate the wire.
Tool handles are colour coded to identify wire sizes, Red 10-14 AWG and Black
16-30 AWG.

DUAL CAVITY CRIMP TOOLS for Terminals, Splices and Endcaps

Astro’s AMT4001 (M220/40-01) crimp tool is a fast, manually operated tool for crimping
AS7928 (MIL-T-7928) Ring Terminals and Splices for wire sizes 26 through 14 (terminal
and splice color codes, Small Yellow, Red, and Blue).
The AMT4001 provides a ratchet-controlled crimp to ensure full crimp force/closure is
applied, meaning that the handles will not open until the crimp is completed.
The tool is designed to crimp a range of MS25036 and MS17143 terminals. For full ter-

RETENTION TEST TOOLS

An important quality assurance test is contact retention, i.e. the

proper seating of contacts in the connector. This test can now be
performed simply and in a matter of seconds with the DMC
retention testing tools. These tools apply a pre-set force to either
pins or sockets to ensure they are retained correctly in the
connector. The tester pin and socket tips are available in
aluminium and plastic. All tips are replaceable.

Glenair UK Ltd is the sole authorised UK distributor for all Daniels

Manufacturing Corporation (DMC) connector tooling and operates the
only authorised DMC Repair Facility in the United Kingdom. We offer a
complete repair and re-certification service for their entire range

Our trained engineers can strip down and rebuild any DMC tools, return-
ing them to the manufacturers original specification and performance,
replacing any damaged or worn parts as required.
Our recertification process ensures that the tools operate within the same
manufacturer's tolerances and gauging limits as when the original left the
DMC factory.
We hold a large inventory of spare parts and offer a quick turn around on
