    KROHNE Tank Inventory and Management System


    (TIM) is a powerful and intelligent control system
    designed for tank monitoring and control. It can be
    employed as a single tank solution, or as part of a
    comprehensive multi-tank farm including loading
    and offloading.

    The system consists of precision level meters (BM


    70A Level Radar or its high-precision pendent, the
    BM 70P and also the BM 100A TDR level meter or
    the BM 100AP high-precision variant). Together with
    all auxiliaries such as temperature and pressure
    gauges, overfill switches, dry-run protection switches
    and communications.

    The heart of the system is the SCADA (Supervisory


    Control and Data Acquisition) system that resides
    on one or more industrial PC’s with SCADD and CM
    (Floating Roof Calculation Module) Software. These
    industrial PC’s function as the Human machine In-
    terface (HMI) for one or more tank measurement
    systems.

    The year 2001: For over 10 years, KROHNE had been
    supplying flowmeters and level gauges to the Oil
    and Gas industry. Following the introduction and
    successful application of high-precision level gauges
    such as the BM 70P and the unique ultrasonic
    5-beam custody-transfer flowmeter ALTOSONIC V, it
    was clear that demand was so high that a dedica-
    ted company was needed to handle this industry.
    We relieved selected experts of all their duties so
    that they could concentrate solely on Oil and Gas.

    KROHNE Oil and Gas is now a 2-year old company


    with a 10-year tradition. The staff grew as experts
    from petrochemical companies, engineering compa-
    nies, and instrument manufacturers were recruited,
    all with decades of hands-on experience on oil rigs,
    in oil field and in refineries.
