GLOBAL WARMİNG
What is Global Warming?
Global warming can be defined as the increase
in average temperatures on the earth’s surface
as a result of the accumulation of greenhouse
gases in the atmosphere. The main reason for
this increase is greenhouse gas emissions
resulting from human activities. Factors such
as the use of fossil fuels, industrial production,
deforestation and agricultural activities
increase the release of greenhouse gases into
the atmosphere.
Causes of Global Warming?

Fossil Fuel Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

One of the main causes of global warming is the widespread use of fossil
fuels (coal, oil, natural gas). Activities in sectors such as industrial
processes, energy production, transportation and agriculture cause large
amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. Especially carbon dioxide (CO2),
methane (CH4) and nitrogen oxides (Nox) are released into the
atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect. These gases trap heat from
the sun in the atmosphere and cause the earth’s surface to warm.
Deforestation and the Carbon Cycle
Forests are an important part of the carbon cycle and absorb carbon
dioxide through photosynthesis, a natural process that regulates CO2
levels in the atmosphere. However, with deforestation and
destruction, this carbon cycle is affected and CO2 levels in the
atmosphere increase. Logging,
Industrial Processes and Climate Change

Industrialization and industrial activities are

another factor that accelerates global warming.
Factory emissions, chemical waste,
greenhouse gas emissions and energy-
intensive production processes have a major
impact on climate change. Air pollution,
especially in big cities, and emissions in
industrial areas are known for their damaging
effects on the climate system.

COMBATİNG GLOBAL WARMİNG AND PRECAUTİONS

1. Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

One of the most important steps to reduce global warming is to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions from fossil fuels. The use of renewable energy sources (solar
energy, wind energy, hydroelectric energy) should be encouraged and energy
efficiency should be prioritized. In this way, greenhouse gas emissions can be
reduced by increasing clean energy production and consumption.
2. Forestry and Afforestation Projects
Preventing deforestation and supporting afforestation projects play an important
role in combating the effects of global warming. Protecting forests ensures the
continuation of the carbon cycle and increases CO2 absorption. In addition, forestry
projects contribute to the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity.
• 3. International Cooperation and Policies
• International cooperation and effective policies are important to combat the
effects of global warming. International agreements play a role in determining
strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change. Joint
efforts between countries can produce positive results on a global scale and be
effective in managing the climate change crisis.
Global warming is one of the biggest threats of climate
change around the world. Human-induced factors such
as the use of fossil fuels, industrial activities and
deforestation accelerate global warming. This situation
causes significant changes in the atmosphere and
ecosystems and brings with it many negative effects.
However, the effects of global warming can be
combated with measures such as the use of renewable
energy resources, protection of forests and
international cooperation. It is essential for societies
and governments to raise awareness and take action
on this issue for a healthy and sustainable world where
future generations can live.
