I. Introduction
The School Year 2023-2024, Remdios National High School presented numerous challenges
in terms of disaster and pandemic preparedness and response. Our school community faced various
natural disasters and pandemics during this period. This accomplishment report highlights the efforts
and achievements of our School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) team in
managing and mitigating these emergencies.
II. Objectives
III. Activities
The school conducted twice a monthly drills to prepare students, faculty, and staff for
potential disasters, including earthquake and fire drills. The DRRM team collaborated with
maintenance staff to assess the school's infrastructure and identify vulnerable areas. The Equipped
Emergency Response Team (ERT) received emergency procedures, first aid, and basic life support
training. The school implemented temperature checks, hand sanitizing stations, and mandatory face
mask wearing to prevent COVID-19 spread. Information campaigns were organized to raise
awareness about personal hygiene and health protocols.
The school maintained close monitoring of local health authorities to respond promptly to
potential outbreaks and ensure community safety. An effective communication system was
established to disseminate early warnings about upcoming disasters or pandemics, ensuring timely
alerting of students, parents, and staff. The ERT provided timely first aid and assistance, facilitating
coordination with external emergency services. School infrastructure damage was assessed, essential
facilities were restored, and support and counseling were provided to affected students and staff.
The 2023-2024 School Year focused on disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, and
pandemic response. Accomplished objectives created a safer learning environment, enhancing
disaster preparedness, pandemic prevention measures, and emergency response efforts. Challenges
faced motivated efforts for greater preparedness and response capabilities in the future.
