“A Green Journey”
According to the text, answer the following questions.
 Why does Lisa believe that education is essential for making a change
towards sustainability? Explain it.
Lisa believes education is key to change for a few reasons:
Knowledge Empowers Action: By educating herself on sustainable living, Lisa gained the
knowledge to make informed decisions in her daily life. This could include anything from
understanding the impact of different products to discovering new eco-friendly practices.

Spreading Awareness: Lisa likely understands that individual actions are important, but
large-scale change requires collective effort. Education can spread awareness about
environmental issues and inspire others to adopt sustainable practices.

Long-Term Solutions: True sustainability requires not just individual actions but also
systemic changes. Education can equip people with the knowledge and critical thinking skills
needed to advocate for sustainable policies and innovations.
 Have you ever been a backpacker? How this traveling style contribute to take
care the environment in your region? Mention 3 contributions.
Supporting Local Businesses: Instead of large chain stores, you choose
locally-owned shops and restaurants. This injects money directly into the local
economy and supports sustainable practices employed by smaller businesses.
Reduced Carbon Footprint: Backpacking often involves slower travel methods
like trains or buses, which have a lower carbon footprint compared to airplanes.
You might even choose to walk or bike between destinations, further minimizing
your environmental impact.
Responsible Tourism: You prioritize eco-friendly accommodation options that
utilize renewable energy sources or support local conservation efforts. You also
practice responsible waste management by carrying reusable items and
minimizing single-use plastics.
 What kind of changes have you adopted at home to have a greener future?
Describe 2 of them.
Composting Food Scraps: You've set up a composting system in your
backyard or kitchen, diverting food waste from landfills and turning it into
nutrient-rich compost for your garden. This reduces methane emissions from
landfills and promotes healthy soil.
Energy-Efficient Lighting: You've replaced all traditional incandescent light
bulbs with LED bulbs throughout your home. LEDs use significantly less energy,
resulting in lower electricity bills and a reduced carbon footprint.

comfortable, band tees, High school me was a whirlwind of
ripped jeans, oversized band practice and graphic novels. My
sweaters, loyal, socially backpack overflowed with dog-eared
awkward manga and sheet music for my trusty
clarinet. Clothes were more about
comfort than style – think band tees
paired with ripped jeans and oversized
sweaters. My vocabulary was
peppered with obscure anime
references and musical jargon, much
to the amusement (or confusion) of
my classmates. Despite the occasional
social awkwardness, I was passionate
and fiercely loyal to my friends.
Looking back, I wouldn't trade those
formative experiences for anything.
