5. MERIT LIST GENERATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE

Selection of Candidates for admission to all the Degree and Diploma Courses will be based on the
Merit lists prepared by the CENTAC for each group of courses. The average of the aggregated marks of
the eligible subjects in the qualifying examination will be calculated and used for arriving at the merit
score. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the merit score (rounded-off to three decimal
places) to a base of 100, followed by applying tie break.

5.1 Biology-based Degree Courses

For all Biology-based degree courses, admission is based on the marks secured by the candidates
in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination (i.e., Biology / Botany & Zoology, Physics and
Chemistry, etc.). The average of the eligible subjects will be arrived as merit score. The merit list will
be prepared based on merit score and tie break.

5.2 Biology-based B.Sc. Nursing Course
Selection of candidates for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing Course (after Higher Secondary / 10+2) will be
based on the marks scored in the entrance examination conducted by the Board of Examination of Nurses
(BOEN), Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Puducherry. Ranking of the candidates will
be done based on the merit marks followed by tie break.
