To Our Audience
Welcome to Talent Showcase 2024! We look forward to sharing this showcase
with you every year. It is the culmination of an entire season of hard work by our
teachers and their students. Our dance teachers pick all their own music and
create their own vision for every number, and it is our job to bring all that they
imagine to life.
As always, our Performing group Teachers have challenged each class to be their
very best. Junior Company is presenting music from Encanto. They have worked
so hard on this very challenging music, and we know they are so excited to share
it with you. Our Shining class will also present “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”
- so much fun! Jr Performing Class presents “Honk”.
Senior company brings you, Thirteen, Knights of the Round Table, Dreamgirls and
Blues Brothers. Our Performing group members join forces with a great opener
“Top of the World” for your enjoyment.
Our Vocal ensemble classes will sing some of the hardest music we’ve ever
performed on the KU stage, including “Take Me Home”. This was a number that
never saw the big stage due to Covid, and we are thrilled to sing it now. #kustrong
I could go on and on about all the wonders that are this Showcase, but you will
see for yourself.
We would like to thank you for being here today and supporting KU Studios home
of Kids Unlimited. We wouldn’t be here without the continued support of the
Tucson Community .
We hope to see you throughout the 2024-2025 season at our “small” shows
throughout our community, and right back here at Berger November 8 th and 9 th
for our Fall Production (you’re going to love it) and May 30 th and May 31st , 2025
for our annual Talent Showcase!
Thank you for supporting KU and live theater in Tucson.

Vince and Carol Sottosanti

Executive Directors

2
Kids Unlimited Directors
Carol Sottosanti was taught the fundamentals of
singing from her father, an opera singer, who taught
her a variety of music. She sang throughout school in
choirs and trios. As a featured soloist, she received a full
scholarship to the U of A in Vocal performance. Taking
time to raise a family, music remained an important part
of Carol’s life and came out in all her children. Unable to
find a program that allowed young performers to gain
stage experience, she put small shows together with
several other moms. It was then that Kids Unlimited was
born. The name came from the belief that “Kids” can
do anything. That was in 1986, and Carol is still the full
time Artistic Director, overseeing all the programs at KU
Studios, (with help from our very talented staff) .
Within the last decade she added the Ensemble program to KU; the goal being
to find the connection to the music. There are now 4 levels of Ensemble, with
the Advanced Elite Ensemble singing in 4 parts. It is the highlight of her teaching
every week. She is also a hardworking vocal coach and teacher who specializes in
working with children and teens.
For her work with Kids Unlimited, Carol’s awards are many, two of which Include
the prestigious “Lumie” given by the Tucson Pima Arts Council and “Ordinary
women Doing Extraordinary things” from the Eller Business College. Most
recently, she received an award for “Making Children’s Lives Better.” She would
tell you the greatest reward, after being part of Kids Unlimited, is the confidence
children and teens come away with and the lifelong friendships they make. Carol
and Vince raised seven successful children, sixteen beautiful grandchildren, five
of which are currently in KU. What a blessing to see them almost daily grow
and flourish in this wonderful world of music. She feels truly blessed to have
the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young performers, while
continuing her own passion in music, and still believes the best is yet to come!
Musicians do NOT retire!

A founding member and Co-Director/Resident Choreographer
of Kids Unlimited
At nine years of age, Kelli began performing
professionally in Musical Theater at the TCC Music
Hall working for the prestigious Southern Arizona
Light Opera Company. At just 11, she was cast as
Baby Louise in Gypsy, with Tony award winner Betty
Buckley playing Mama Rose. Throughout her teenage
years, Kelli continued working solidly on stage and of
course with Kids Unlimited. She doubled as the groups’
choreographer and teacher.
Some of her favorite shows include West Side Story, 42nd St, Crazy for You,
and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Triumph of Love, and Godspell.
She has sailed to over 30 countries as a lead singer, dancer, and Cabaret artist;
she continued regional theater, as well as choreographing and dancing for The
Legendary Superstars at the Santa Ana Star Casino. She toured 15 cities in China
as a featured singer with the Art-i-fact Dance Project. She also had the pleasure
to be part of the original casts for Gaslight Music Hall’s Rock and Roll, Vegas, and
Christmas revues.
Kelli is a Fletcher Pilates Instructor, having taught at Bodyworks Pilates for over
ten years and remains part of the teaching faculty for Fletcher Pilates. Kelli’s
passion for teaching extends beyond the big stage; she feels the most vital tools
are taught in the classroom and KU’s small shows in the community.
Kelli felt the pull to fill her artistic cup and has moved to NYC to pursue the
arts. While she is always missing her KU family, she is still very much involved
co-directing and advising alongside her mother (Carol) and mentoring the KU
teachers.
Congrats to my KU fam on another successful show!

performing classes. Helen performed her last show with
KU in 2022 when she graduated from Ironwood Ridge
High School. She is currently pursuing an Elementary
Education degree at the University of Arizona.

Kids Unlimited Teachers
Grace Clare is 19 years old and has been performing with
Kids Unlimited since she was 9 years old. She teaches 4
dance classes; two tap classes, Mini’s Combo class and
Beginning Jazz. She is also a full-time nanny at Trusting
Connections. She is very passionate about working with
kids and especially loves working with little ones.

Thea Hinojosa (Taya) is a Tucson native. Taya began her

performing journey at age 5, when she discovered and
joined Kids Unlimited. When Taya aged out of the program
at 18, she began teaching classes. Taya has spent the last
eight years working closely under Directors Carol Sottosanti
and Kelli Workman, learning and growing constantly. Her
favorite part of KU are the small shows around town, seeing
the reactions from the local audiences and the growth in
the students from each experience. It has been wonderful
getting back into the community, thank you to Carissa for
booking, Shari for keeping us straight, and all the parents who worked so hard to
get your kids to each show!
In her adult musical career, Taya was ensemble and co-dance captain for the
AZ OnStage production of Producers, and Donna Sheridan in PCC’s Mamma
Mia. Early 2020, she co-directed/co-choreographed SAPAC’s production of Hot
Mikado (alongside Kelli Workman, a dream as always). Taya choreographed
alongside Kelli again for CYT’s Matilda. In April of 2022 she co-choreographed
CYT’s Newsies, a wonderful collaboration with her home studio, KU. Taya spent
the last semester teaching the wonderful sparkling class and starlight!
KU will always be a second home and has a very special place in her heart. It is
one of her greatest joys to watch the little ones grow up and find themselves on
stage. Taya has a wonderful husband, Allen, and 2 beautiful daughters, Adilene
and Ariah, whom she loves very much. Allen, I wouldn’t be able to teach and have
Adi in the program without you and your efforts. Thank you for being the best
dance dad to our Adi girl!

on and would like to thank her students for their hard work
this semester!

professionalism, practice teamwork, and of course, entertain for the community!
Kids Unlimited began as a small performing group and has evolved into the
performing arts school it is today. Small shows are the heart of KU, and it’s up
to our students, and parents, to help ensure that heart keeps beating. We invite
parents to sign students up for as many small shows as possible. We can’t book

Scholarships

Jack Jacobson Scholarship Fund

Kids Unlimited is proud to have had the opportunity to
work with the famous Jack Jacobson and the honor of
having him as the Executive Director of Kids Unlimited.
Jack was a truly amazing part of our all-volunteer staff.
No show was ever too small and no task was ever
too large. Jack handled all of the public relations for
Kids Unlimited effortlessly and with an admirable air
of altruism. His commitment to KU and the untold
children that have walked through our doors was
evident when he shared our story with others.
Jack and Kids Unlimited appeared together beginning in the 1980’s at the annual
MDA telethon. Together, for over a decade, we provided the entertainment at both
the Salvation Army’s Annual Christmas Dinner at the TCC, and the Thanksgiving
dinner at St. Demitrius Greek Church. We hope to continue this tradition in
memory of a great man.
As a broadcaster, executive committee member, vice president, author, husband
and father, Jack lived in an outward focused manner and shared himself with the
world.
Our family will miss Jack dearly. He had been part of our lives since KU began 35
years ago; he was an inspiration to us all! - The Sottosantis

The John Tveten Memorial Scholarship

John and Gloria Tveten, Amanda’s grandparents, are
very proud of their granddaughter, and have been big
supporters of Kids Unlimited for many years. John
passed away in October 2009 and Gloria has generously
set up a scholarship fund in memory of John. This year
the scholarship will help two deserving students, one
with performing group membership and the other with
dance and vocal instruction. It is important to Gloria to
give a child or teen, with potential, the opportunity to
truly develop their natural talents. It is her hope that they
will develop into a mentor just like Amanda.
Our entire KU family would like to thank you, Gloria. We are proud to honor John
in this way.

Scholarships

The Savannah Narcaroti Memorial

Scholarship.
It’s unspeakable to lose a child! The beautiful and
talented Savannah Narcaroti left this world on
October 19, 2021, a victim of a senseless act of
violence. Savannah was a bright light in this world,
and Savannah carried compassion for others and a
passion for the performing arts. She was a Friend &
Mentor to all those that have been blessed to know her.
When Savannah found KU, she found her people, and
through the generosity of her family and friends, The
Savannah Nacaroti Memorial Scholarship will help other
passionate performers find their people.
We will always miss the “Sunshine she brought into every room “ (quote from
Miss Kelli). We will honor her always.
For more information on how to apply for The Savannah Narcaroti Memorial
Scholarship visit kustars.com/savannah-narcaroti.html or contact KU Studios at

providing our dinner service all week.
Finally, thank you to all who stopped by and grabbed a snack. It’s been a pleasure

KU Mentors Matter
Everyone knows at Kids Unlimited we strive
to teach young people how to sing and dance.
What we are most proud of is our Advanced
Performers and KU Alumni mentoring our
young performers. Sparkling, Twinkling,
Shining, Starlight and K* are always taught by
people who have grown up in the program.
As they grow into adulthood, they choose to
stay involved with KU. They understand our
philosophy from the inside out and pass that
knowledge on to others. To keep the cycle going and to become a part of this
built-in “mentor” program, start today by helping a younger or less experienced
KU member or introduce yourself to our new members and their families. You are
the example they will follow just as you have followed those before you.

In Loving Memory of our Friend, Classmate and Teacher
10/1/1986 - 12/29/2000
Some People
Some people come into our lives and quickly go
Some people move our souls to dance
They awaken us to new understanding with the
passing whisper of their wisdom
Some people make the sky
more beautiful to gaze upon
They stay in our lives for a while
Leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never, ever the same.
Kristin was a dedicated member of KU for almost 10 years of her life of 14 years.
We miss her more than we can express. Please applaud a little louder so she will
hear in heaven. www.kksmith.net
Arizona State Ambassador for the Cinderella Scholarship program, is an honor
given in the name of our very own Kristin Smith.

Richard Leo Eric Blau

June 28, 1994 - March 28, 2009
Richard wants everyone to know that he is now at peace playing
with angels in the outfield. Richard had many friends and touched
the lives of all who met him. He will be truly missed and he will be
loved through all of eternity. KU was very proud to have Richard
as a performing group member as a young boy. After leaving KU,
Richard continued to be at every major KU event in support of his sister Gabby,
including our K* cruise tours in 2004, 2007, and 2008. The Blau family went to
Alaska with our KU Ensemble, sharing the stage of the Celebrity Infinity with our
co-director and his dear friend Jennie Marshall. Richard we miss you!

Always Remembering

Shannan Marty
04/19/1958-06/25/2021
Shannan was a dear family friend and a fantastic KU Mom to
her son, alum, Wyatt Pendleton. Always helping KU with the boy
costuming, endless ideas for fundraising, planning our Cruise
tours, and most importantly our beautiful studio.
She spent more than 18 months researching locations, in an
effort to find the right spot for us. Once she negotiated and handled the legal
arrangements, she oversaw the inside of the building. Always a stickler for finding
the best deal, she took me (Carol) to IKEA and we loaded up all the things you
currently see in our studio to build it out just right.
We lost her after her valiant battle with brain cancer. We will always be grateful
to her for loving KU and our family the way she did. Shannan spent her life
giving back to the community that she loved so deeply and her passion for
environmental conservation. A huge thank you to her family, husband Chris, sons
JW & Wyatt for sharing her with us.
What I wouldn’t give for one of her amazing hugs!

I am extremely grateful for all the support we have had from our very important extended KU fami-
ly, the Kids Unlimited Volunteers; Who have donated their time, gone over and above and been
there to answer our call, to help us grow and succeed through the year. Our Volunteer Coordinators
who work countless hours making sure we always move forward. My staff, and Mentor teachers
who are always providing valuable feedback and help maintain our Student First Focus, all the while
supporting those new incoming Families. Lastly, all those who jump into action to help us make sure
our Spring production is a huge success. I Couldn’t Do it without ALL of YOU!

Carol ’s Family Acknowledgements
It occurred to me today that having started KU in 1986, we are actually in our 38th
year. WOW! I can’t believe it sometimes. It is because of my family that I am still at
the helm, living my best life. They have supported me, helped me, forgiven me (for
all my KU priorities), listened to all of my concerns, and always told me I COULD
DO IT!
Jennie- thank you for making time to do our opening number. I just love it. You
always believe that our kids are capable beyond their years, and you are right. We
will have a great number for small shows, once this show is over. The kids love it!
And it’s wonderful seeing Dreamgirls and Knights of the Round Table again. I’m
so glad you could work with K* on Dreamgirls. Of course, I am so excited to hear
you and your sister sing from Sideshow. It’s been a long time.
Kelli- you’re here! Thank you for always being here for all of us. Your ongoing
guidance for our Senior company teachers and me is invaluable. You always listen
and calmly give your thoughts. That, in and of itself, is a gift. Well, another K* class
is giving us Blues Brothers. It’s amazing how many of our students have looked
forward to performing this number. I appreciate that you come here, knowing you
will help with all the little things that come up, as we take our show to the stage.
And thank you for encouraging us to Run the show at KU! We are so glad we did,
and are so excited about the show.
Once again, I’d like to recognize Giada, Gemma and Gina Sottosanti and Lucy and
Penny Cable for another year at KU ! I can’t believe how much each one of you
has grown this season. I’m so proud of you.
Thank you to my sons for caring about me, and understanding this life I’ve chosen.
It means the world to me.
And finally, to my husband Vince! You are a Rockstar! Open heart surgery didn’t
stop you! Here you are making sure KU runs smoothly. Your devotion to our KU
performers and their families is amazing. We would not be here without all of your
efforts.
To all of my family and extended family , You all give me strength and love and I
love you all.
Enjoy the show, this one is so special! It might have something to do with my love
of “Wonderland”!

Special thanks from Shari and Carol -
Costuming!
We do most of the costume searching online and take great pride in making sure
all your kids look as good as they can. To accomplish this, we need a team, and
we know that KU would not look as good as we do without our amazing team.
This semester always challenges us because of the dance classes, and we have
worked hard to accomplish it! Of course, we thank Jane, our seamstress, for
always helping us with the tough stuff and driving back and forth from Green
Valley. We appreciate you.
We’d like to thank JJ for working so hard pulling costumes out and putting them
away, getting us organized to be ready for this big show. It’s such an important
job, but not always the most fun. You went above and beyond this show!
Gina, we appreciate you jumping in and helping with making our Encanto Belts
and getting them fitted and helping JJ organize, every little bit helps the process,
and we could not have done it without you. Thanks for the Churros!
Finally, we’d like to thank Tamera for all the things you’ve done for this show. We
appreciate you coming in and helping with our hats with Wonderland, they look
fantastic! We cannot wait to see your magic with Wonderland props. On a side
note thank you for our Poster Promo, senior company has been having a BLAST!
