Scenario
You are the manager of a restaurant in Vancouver (you will need to come up with your own
private restaurant details - pizza, or fast food, or fine dining etc).
Your company owner is thinking of expanding the business into Chilliwack. They have asked
you for a summary information report on the top two or three competitors in Chilliwack.
Research / Findings
You should try to find out information on a variety of areas: about the company (size,
locations), general description of the products / services, the types of advertising they use,
price ranges (if you can find them online), and any other relevant features. The goal is to
allow the reader to compare to your own company. For example, find a company
approximately the same size or larger and analyze their reach and success to allow your
owner to draw their own conclusions.
Remember to use APA in-text citations and a References page for any information you use
from another company’s website.
Report Format
Structure the report into four sections: Summary (no heading), Background, Findings, and
Conclusion.
Due Dates
This report requires you to create a draft and receive peer feedback, as described in the
module.
