Before you apply for a course, make sure you meet the entry requirements and have worked out how much you will
need to pay.

5. Apply
Once you have decided on your course and location, you’re ready to apply. You can do this through an education

Libraries
TAFE NSW has a statewide network of libraries with the latest digital and print resources. Our
librarians can assist you with locating resources and library facilities, information services, and a
range of other online support services.
You can also get access to computers and software, WiFi, individual and group study areas,
photocopying, printing and scanning services (including 3D printing at some locations), as well as
all the research, referencing, and bibliography help you need for your assignments.

Childcare centres
Excellent childcare facilities are provided at some TAFE NSW locations. Places may be available for
children under the age of six.

Work placement
Some of our courses require additional skill development that can only be achieved through
work placements. Work placements are opportunities for students to develop their skills in a

On successful completion of a TAFE NSW course, TAFE NSW Degree Pathway programs can provide you with a
guaranteed pathway to enter a bachelor’s degree, with credit towards the degree. Credit transfer arrangements
vary from program to program and are available for TAFE NSW degrees as well as with our university partners.

TAFE NSW has articulation agreements (credit transfer) with many Australian universities.

This means that you could receive course credit at university for your previous studies, and not have to repeat

1. Choose a course and location

2. Download and complete the application form

3. Prepare certified copies of your documents


A certified copy is a copy of the original document signed and dated by the organisation that issued the original
document, a government official, Public Notary or Justice of the Peace, or an education agent of TAFE NSW,
confirming that they have sighted the original.

4. Submit your application online


Access and submit your application at tafensw.edu.au/international. A TAFE NSW education agent can help.

5. Receive offer letter


A TAFE NSW Admissions Support Officer will assess your application and issue your offer letter(s) with an invoice.

6. Make payment
tafensw.edu.au/international

Accept your offer and make payment.

7. Get a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)


Your Admissions Support Officer will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

8. Apply for visa


Apply for your visa and enrol at TAFE NSW.

TAFE NSW international student applicant qualifications are assessed as part of the admissions process.

As a general guide, for diplomas and bachelor degrees, Year 12 or equivalent is required. Please also note:

§ Additional requirements apply for most degree courses.

Course entry requirements


§ To enter a diploma or advanced diploma course, you may need to complete a Certificate III or Certificate IV
course, or demonstrate an equivalent skill level. If a prerequisite applies, you will receive an offer letter which
includes both the lower and higher level course.
§ For design, digital media, fashion technology, fine arts and music courses, you are required to submit a portfolio,
design or written task along with your application.

Your level of English


The minimum English language requirement is Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or General English program.
Some courses, like the TAFE NSW bachelor degrees, require a higher IELTS, Academic IELTS 6.5 with no band less
than 6.0 or TOEFL (iBT) 79. Alternatively, our English for Academic Purposes course will give you direct entry into
our bachelor courses. The Diploma of Nursing requires an overall Academic IELTS of 7, with no band less than 7, or
equivalent scores in other acceptable tests, such as the Occupational English Test (OET).
