Customer Maintenance Card for BS-120\130 Chemistry Analyzer

Please follow the instructions on this card to maintain the chemistry analyzer, so as to realize the perfect
performance of the instrument, ensure the precision of the results and prolong the service life of the system.
Please refer to the 5th chapter of the operator’s manual for details. The major items are listed as follows:
1 Replacing the lamp
Instruction: The replacement of the lamp should be performed after the lamp has been used for 1000 hours or
when the system prompts message to replace.

Procedures:
 Shut down the analyzer. Wait at least 15 minutes for the lamp and its housing to cool down.
 Unscrew the retaining screws on the front panel of the analyzer and remove the front panel. You will see
the lamp inside the analyzer.
 Unplug the connector of the light source cable. Loosen the retaining screws, and then remove the lamp
backwardly.
 Install a new lamp by securing it with the retaining screws.
 Connect the light source cable to the corresponding jack. Install the panel back to the box and tighten
the screws.
 After new lamp is installed, run starting procedure, enter the software interface and check the
background of the 8 wavelengths at the “Maintenance” interface. If the background is lower than 65535,
the replacement is successful. In case the background reaches 65535, please contact our customer
service department or your local distributor.

2 Unclogging sample probe

Instruction: The procedures below should be performed when the water flow is abnormal. It might be that the
sample probe is blocked.
Procedures:
 Shut down the analyzer. Remove the cover from the sample compartment and then take out the sample
disk.
 Pull the sample probe arm to the highest point. Rotate the probe arm to the top of the sample disk for
convenient operation. Place a container below the sample probe (such as a beaker).
 Remove the enclosure of the sample probe. Disconnect the probe from the tubing. Exercise caution so
that the white gasket inside the probe does not drop out. Do not spill water on the circuit board. Connect
the probe to the unclogging tool(PN: 115-003182-00)(Note: the white gasket should be present
between the probe and the tool).
 Use a disposable syringe to suck 3 ml CD80. Remove the needle of the syringe. Connect the syringe to
the other end of the unclogging tool. Slowly push the plunger of the syringe until liquid drops from the tip
of the sample probe as indicated in the following probe.
 If no liquid drops out of the probe, do not push the plunger of the syringe with excessive force. Unclog
the sample probe with an acupuncture needle first and then push the plunger of the syringe.
 Keep the CD80 in the sample probe for 10 minutes. Push the plunger of the syringe back and forth for
several times until the liquid can flow smoothly from the tip of the sample probe.
 Use syringe to suck the DI water and wash the sample probe for more than 3 times.
 Disconnect the unclogging tool and connect the probe back (pay attention to the white gasket).
 Pull the sample probe arm back to the place above the wash well. Take away the container. Install the
sample disk and cover back.
 Power on the analyzer. Start the operating software. During the initialization procedure, check whether
leakage takes place at the connector of the sample probe. Install the sample probe arm enclosure back.
 Wash the unclogging tool with DI water and dry it. Store it properly for future use.

3 Replacing Filter Assembly

Instruction: The replacement of the filter should be performed after the filter has been used for 6 months.
Procedures:
 Remove cap assembly from the DI water tank. Carefully remove the filter assembly from the cap
assembly.
 Inject water into the new filter assembly through the big adapter by using the syringe. When water wells
up from the small adapter, the injection is completed.

 Connect the new filter assembly to the tubes of the cap assembly; put it into the DI water tank and tight
the cap;
 Turn on the analyzer. Turn on the computer and start the operating software. Reset 10 times (click
Maintenance and then select Alignment, click Reset) to expel the air in the filter assembly and the
tubes. Check for large amount of bubbles in the outlet tube. If yes, continue the resetting process; if not,
the installation is completed.

4 Washing Deionized Water Tank

Instruction: The deionized water tank should be washed every two weeks.
Procedures:
 Shut down the analyzer.
 Unscrew (counter-clockwise) the tank cap and remove the cap together with the pickup tube and the
sensor. Place it on a clean desk.
 Wash the tank interior with deionized water until no impurity can be seen on the interior wall of the water
tank. Use a clean brush to clean the interior if necessary.
 Add deionized water into the tank.
 Screw (clockwise) the cap back onto the tank until secure.

5 Washing Dust Screen

Instruction: The dust screen should be washed every 6 months.
Procedures:
 Shut down the analyzer.
 Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws on the right plate
and remove the right plate.
 Remove the dust screens from the plate.
 Wash the screens with clean water and dry them by airing.
 Install the screens back to the right plate. Install the right plate
with screws.
