Leaves

1. Objective: To understand the different parts of a leaf and able to identify the [10]
functions of the same. T2

Requirements: A leaf ,dissecting needle, watch glass, a petri dish, eosin to stain,
scraper,slides , forceps , cover slip and microscope .

Procedure:
1. Take a leaf and place it on a petri dish.
2. With the help of a scraper scrap the lower part of the leaf gently.
3. Place it on a watch glass.
4. Put a drop of Eosin. Allow to stain for a minute.
5. Rinse it in a water.
6. Place the leaf on a slide and put a cover slip.
7. Observe under the microscope.
8. Identify different parts of the leaf and write the functions of each.
