Recently, cases of suicide have raised in our town and a lot have been having suicide ideation

caused by several factors that trigger their attempt. I hear news from my town often regardless of age
mental health chooses no one. But I notice mostly nowadays the youth are the most vulnerable that can
be associated with it. As a candidate running for a position in Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) this
election, as a youth advocate, I would to promote mental health awareness to each and every one in my
community.

The first is to educate. I will start by raising awareness of mental health issues through
information campaigns, workshops, and seminars guided by mental health professionals or
organizations to ensure the information shared is reliable and evidence-based. Next is to destigmatize. I
will encourage open conversations and support for those experiencing mental health challenges. Help
them engage in activities that challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about mental illness.
Collaborate with regional mental health-related schools, colleges, community groups, and government
agencies to raise awareness, provide support, and improve mental health services for youth. with
regional mental health-related schools, colleges, community groups, and government agencies. I would
also promote peer support in order to create safe spaces for youth to seek support from their peers and
advocate for mental health. Create peer support networks, mentoring programs, or online spaces where
young people can exchange stories, offer advice, and encourage one another. I also want to make sure
that young people in our community have access to resources for mental health and know where to go
for assistance. Make a list of the support groups, helplines, and mental health resources available in our
community. Make this information widely available by distributing it via numerous platforms, such as
social media, neighborhood notice boards, or booklets. I want to make sure that young people in our

neighborhood notice boards, and brochures. Lastly, I will advocate for policies and programs that
prioritize mental health within our local government. Collaborate with other council members to
propose initiatives that address mental health issues among the youth. Raise awareness among elected
officials about the importance of mental health support and work towards allocating resources for
mental health services.

can make a significant difference in the lives of youth and contribute to building a more mentally healthy

Take a look back at your past experiences, and identify one instance in your
life where you regret not doing one of your responsibilities or duties as a
Filipino citizen. Discuss the event as well as your realization.
As a Filipino citizen, to participate in a local tree-planting initiative. However, due to my own
negligence or lack of awareness, I did not take part in this important environmental activity. As time
passed and I observed the consequences of deforestation, environmental degradation, and the impact
of climate change on my surroundings, I realized the missed opportunity and the importance of my
responsibility as a citizen to protect and preserve the environment.

This realization may have led to a sense of regret and a deeper understanding of the significance
of taking action for the environment. I might have recognized that my participation in the tree-planting
initiative could have made a difference in combating deforestation, promoting biodiversity, and
mitigating the effects of climate change. Subsequently, I might have become more proactive and
committed to environmental causes. I would seek opportunities to engage in reforestation efforts,
advocate for sustainable practices, and educate myself and others about the importance of
environmental conservation. By acknowledging my regret and learning from it, I would strive to be a
responsible citizen, actively participating in activities that promote a healthier and more sustainable
environment. This could include supporting initiatives such as waste management, energy conservation,
and raising awareness about environmental issues within my community.

It's crucial to remember that regrets can serve as motivators for personal growth and positive
change. By recognizing missed responsibilities or duties, individuals can become more conscious of their
impact on the environment and take meaningful action to contribute to its preservation.
