    FU @62ND Its all about you!

    In the advent of the 62nd anniversary, Foundation University come to a realization of the importance of each of us (FU community), that is why Its all about you! was given birth as the University theme for the academic year 20112012. Its a new idea from the administration to let students expose in the different field of their concentration, also to let students feel that they are in the right track, because being them was given more importance, whatever potential, talent, skills they have, based on the theme itself Its all about you! The opportunity of each student to shine and to come out from his or her shells, as what was stated on the Vision of Foundation University that: Foundation University

    envisions itself as a progressive, dynamic environment that cultivates effective learning, generates creative ideas and offers equal opportunity for all. The idea in the Foundation University Vision was made much more possible this year compare to the previous years. We all knew that Foundation University is active in any societal needs as a corporate social responsibility such as extension programs in different areas, barangays and localities which Foundation University offers assistance, both financial, labor, goods and services. One of the concrete examples for that; adapting the Banica River as Atong Suba, tree planting in some parts of Valencia and Tanjay City and alike. Another example is the Dumaguete Adventure Marathon as Sports

    Involvement of Foundation University in which students, faculty, staff and others are involved, thousands of runners took off at the sound of the blast at 4:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m. and 6 a.m. from the 105mm Howitzer cannon of the Philippine Armys 302nd Brigade in the biggest locally organized annual running event in Negros Oriental. The Dumaguete Adventure Marathon, Foundation Universitys gift to the gentle people of Negros Oriental, surpassed the organizers expectations this year, after runners from Kenya, France, Singapore and Japan registered online and joined the runners coming from Negros Oriental, Manila, Cebu, Zamboanga, Negros Occidental and other points in the country, giving two-time DAM champion Jeson Agravante of Silay City some tough competition.     Foundation University important and showing that every students, faculty, staff and visitors as well as researchers, Foundation University Libraries offer academic resources and services that encompass all curricular offerings and instructional programs. We have three-storey undergraduate and graduate library, and an airconditioned law library. We maintain and update our comprehensive collection of more than 30,000 volumes, 2,000-plus titles of graduate and undergraduate theses, documents, pamphlets, and special research materials to meet student and faculty needs. Because Foundation University cares and its all about you! To completely give emphasis to the theme Its all about you! this year we observe that there were many changes in terms of facilities, building, tools and equipment that enhance the learning process within the studentry. The objectives for all of the changes we have here in Foundation University is to inspire, to show students that because of them Foundation University grows and to motivates them also. Speaking about new buildings and facilities we have new SG

    Office, new SPEEDBAC Office, new Greyhound TV Studio with TV production equipment and currently they are constructing the new radio transmitter of DYFU Greyhound 101.3 FM, we have new Tourism office, new Creative Department Office and so many others. All of those were basically to highlight the students vital role, which fit also to the theme. Moreover, the University also has different partners; business partners, educational entities, media partners, also has partner in terms of livelihood projects, environmental concerns and any other institutions that supports Foundation University. This is one way of promoting the University, helping the students to get employed whenever they have already graduated from their respective expertise and fields. In addition to other business partners of Foundation University also has a greater impact to the students who are financially distress who have potentials to be in school to mention such as Jollibee Group of companies includes the following Greenwich, Mc Donals, Chowking and among others, they helped students to obtain the tertiary level of education through scholarships, but in return you have to render time that the company requires. So we can see how Foundation University cares and show their

    initiative in molding and enriching students skills and interests in education. If we are going to look at the Foundation University Mission, which states that: In its quest for excellence in mind, body and character and to the pursuit of truth and freedom Foundation University commits itself: 1. To develop in students sound character and broad culture; 2. To prepare individuals for a definite career; 3. To imbue citizens with the spirit of universal brotherhood; and 4. To advocate truth, promote justice and advance knowledge Thats simply also tell us the wholesome of Foundation University community of what we are, who are, what are our capabilities, and how can we produce a quality students and effective learning, somehow refers and to make an interpretation and understanding regarding Its all about you! If we hear the theme, we can probably ask questions to our mind why is it that the theme is like that? But if you are wise, then it may come to your mind that this year is the

    season of featuring you as one of the contributing factors to make Foundation University. We are building a strong foundation! Go

    Foundationites, be Proud of what you are! We can asked, why Foundation Univerity, simply because and we end up with the themeIts all about

    you!
