HEALTH SCIENCES

Good morning Professor Juan Ramon Zapata and students from different faculties,
receive the cordial greeting from (name of the speaker), our group is made up of
aspiring careers from faculties of health sciences, and we feel very happy to express
our knowledge and interests about our professional careers. Today I will tell you
many things; that change people, things that save lives, that are important because
they make us look good, I will talk about careers that ensure your well-being from
birth to the end of your days. Today I will not only speak for myself, but I will speak
for all the people at our university who aspire to be within the health system. This
morning I will speak about the careers that make up my health sciences group;
These faculties are: psychology, stomatology, nursing and medicine. We are
governed by ethical values such as respect and love for other people, the passion
that we are just cultivating and forming to care for, care for and ensure quality of life,
health sciences ensure both the physical and psychological well-being of a person, I
hope you like it.

Psychology is a profession, an academic discipline and a science that deals with the
study and analysis of behavior, the mental processes of individuals and human
groups in different situations, therefore; A student pursuing this career expressed: “I
have been inclined to pursue this career because I feel confident in myself, I am
passionate about analyzing the internal, interpersonal and intergroup conflicts of
human beings, and I consider myself strong enough to listen to the conflicts and help
resolve them without giving up.”
As we know, psychology not only helps us understand ourselves better, but, thanks
to subjects such as social or group psychology, we can learn more about interaction
with other people and thanks to this career we can learn to communicate better and
do a job. social for the good of the community .

We, as future psychologists, will have as our main objective to support each of our
patients at all times and provide them with enough confidence so that each of them
has personal and spiritual growth in resolving their conflicts. For example, some
people turn to a psychologist. because they have felt depressed , angry or anxious
for a long time. Others, because they need help with a chronic disorder that
interferes with their lives or physical health. For their part, others turn to a
psychologist because they experience short-term problems that they want to resolve
when they feel overwhelmed by a new job , or are affected by the death of a family
member.

“Being a psychologist is going beyond what we are told: the words, the silences, the
strokes, the expressions; “It is going beyond what we see,” mentioned a UCV
incoming student.
Stomatology is the career in charge of training professionals so that they are able to
diagnose and care for those patients who present different problems that affect the
mandibular structure. For many students, the wide field of work, both public and
private, to explore is interesting. Furthermore, we consider that the mouth is one of
the most important organs of the human body and we would like to dedicate
ourselves more specifically to the career, stomatology is the profession we were
looking for.
Also one of our goals is to have our own office in the future; although also working in
hospitals, clinics, etc. In this way they will be able to specialize even more in the
branch that most attracts their attention, managing their workload and their patients.

Because it's not just about healing or revising; It is about giving the patient better
care and always spreading a smile to everyone. Since stomatology specializes in the
comprehensive treatment of all disorders related to the mouth, that is, with the gums,
palate, mucosa, tongue, maxilla, jaw, and salivary glands. There is a big difference
between a stomatologist and a dentist, both are popularly known as 'dentists', but the
stomatologist can relate oral problems to general health and the stomatologist can
practice general medicine.

And as Tori Bowie said -I always wanted to be a dentist! I thought I was going to be
fixing teeth and designing beautiful smiles.

Nursing is that career that stands out for understanding, good care, autonomous
care and collaboration of human health; For us, without a doubt, it is one of the most
beautiful professions that exists. Considering that, thanks to this career, you will gain
many skills, since they will be very helpful in placing the patient as your main
objective; where a lot of time is required but above all mutual support.
If you want to be a good nurse, you will have to be a good listener, since your work
goes beyond receiving orders; how to ensure the health of patients, their
medications or treatment plans, and the different ways to make them feel the best
possible. Every health career is based on the passion and dedication that we put into
every action we take, with the The intention is that each patient be supported with
treatment of respect, equality and great responsibility, so that they feel at home.
“It is very gratifying to give and bring a smile home,” mentioned a future nurse from
César Vallejo University. Well, it is about having good training, both academic and
practical, and not forgetting that we not only have contact with the patient, but also
with the family and the community, with the purpose of improving the health
perspectives of citizens and guaranteeing care with maximum safety.

We seek to participate in educational programs, provide advisory services and be

part of immunization programs. That each training to participate depends on the area
in which we have worked; whether in surgery, pediatric care, intensive care,
emergencies, obstetrics, geriatrics, occupational health, rehabilitation, oncology and
among others for the well-being of all the people.
Remember "A nurse is having a passion and vocation for the service of each of our
patients, more than a commitment as a science, it is research into humanism where
we are the ones who will give hope and support from the beginning, journey and end
of each one of their lives,” was what a future nurse commented in the ALFA 74 UCV
preparation.

Medicine is a career that involves great commitment, dedicated to treating and

preventing health care, which includes the application of science and technology to
provide better service to patients. What we like most about this career is that it offers
an enriching experience, and in addition, it is one of the best paid careers, having a
high percentage of employability, also ensuring the economic future, it can also be
mentioned that not all professions ensure a universal work as medicine does, since it
is a science that is applied in the same way in all places in the world. Medicine is one
of the longest courses in both public and private universities, it has a high level of
academic demand, and those who enter to study know that their lives will change
completely. It is not a profession for everyone, it is essential to feel the need to help
others on a daily basis, putting their rights above your own. If we accept the above, a
broad perspective opens up for us about the importance of public health and
medicine in the lives of people. The medical student must be a committed person
who loves the career he or she has chosen, otherwise he or she is not in the right
place.
“A doctor cannot just know what he intuited would be taken in the final exam, he
must have knowledge about the entire human body, about each of the existing
pathologies; its causes, its symptoms and its possible treatments, be constantly
updated and forget about traditional work days. It is a vocation, not a profession,”
indicates a professor of Microbiology and Parasitology. In this regard, various
doctors from public hospitals in the region confirm the professor's statements,
claiming that one is a doctor “twenty-four hours a day, every day of your life.”

In conclusion, the faculty of health sciences can be quite interesting because we

stop thinking about ourselves, but instead start looking for solutions, treatments for
the different diagnoses of our patients, who trust us to solve their problems. of
health. In these careers we also humanize ourselves since we experience empathy,
which is putting ourselves in the place of another to be able to provide good
treatment to the patient. I think that these careers are of utmost importance in our
society, a very clear example is 2020, many people from the health center lost their
lives for wanting to save others, these people exposed themselves and are exposing
themselves to a deadly virus which led them to their house where their families are
located, these people belong to the faculty of health sciences, from nurses to
doctors, all of them were capable of putting themselves at risk to help the community
overcome this terrible disease, I consider that these people They deserve to be
called heroes for facing such deadly danger.
