600 years

We know from the fossils that were left on rocks which we were
able to identify how old those rocks were.

3000 million years ago, organisms that could photosynthesise

first appeared on the planet.

This is because any animal-like organisms depend on oxygen to

survive, and since there was no oxygen before the plants appeared,

the organism couldn’t live. Plants do not need any oxygen to

survive,
so this is the reason why they were able to survive on Earth when
oxygen had not been there yet.
