ENGLISH: 1. The war reporter Naveed Khan needed to find peace after ten years of reporting on conflict. In the edited
extract from an online article by Sabah Bano Malik, you will read how he finally found the peace he was searching for in
the mountains of Northern Pakistan. Read the article on pages 112-114 of your text book (Oxford International
Lower Secondary) and answer the questions given at the end. (Pg-115 Ex A, C)
b) Summarize the passage and suggest a suitable title.
2: Let’s see how you advice/convince your brother to take part in outdoor games through a letter to him.
3. Write a dialogue between two friends on importance of healthy eating.
4. Write an essay (200-250 words) on “Machines have become more important than men”-Do you agree? with the
help of the following outlines:
Introduction: creations of human beings, make life easier, make us lazier.
Body: replacing man power for certain jobs, developed countries use machines to superiority, can’t live without AC,
mobile phones etc , slaves to machines, advantages, disadvantages.
Conclusion: future machines will render humans useless, whatever man can do mostly, machines can be better.
Activity: Design/create a classroom newspaper & name it. You can add different sections in it like “its important”,
games section, poetry section, drawing section, interviews etc. Try to be creative and innovative.

HISTORY/ GEOGRAPHY:
1. Activity: “Timeline Creation”
Note:Utilize the information provided in Ch.2 of your History textbook to gain a deeper understanding of the era and its
significance in History. Use a chart paper to create a timeline of Abbasid or Umayyad Caliphate, highlighting key events,
rulers and advancements in their reign. Use visuals and colors to make your timeline informative.
2.Activity: “River-Based Agriculture Analysis”
Read Pg.39 of your geography book to learn about the agricultural challenges Pakistan faces. Besides them, River Indus
also offers significant advantages to the country. Discuss the advantages of agriculture facilitated by the Indus River in
Pakistan. Consider factors such as irrigation, hydropower, transportation, sediment deposition and ecosystem diversity.
SCIENCE: Attempt any one of the following tasks.
Task # 1 “Think Green Go Green”
Prepare a Science magazine on the theme “Environment”. Use white or coloured sheets to make your magazine. Cover page
should be imaginative. Use your imagination and creativity. Give your magazine a suitable name. The content should
consist of 7-8 pages only.
Some of the things that you can include in your magazine are:
a. Information about one famous environmentalist. His/Her picture or information about his/her work.
b. 2-3 clippings or articles from the newspaper about the environment.
c. Some amazing/interesting facts about the environment.
d. Puzzles/riddles/jokes/thoughts about the environment.
e. Visit or search for a polluted place/river/lake and write about it in the magazine.
f. Write five ways that must be kept in mind to keep the environment clean.
OR
Task # 2"Journey Inside Leaves: Exploring Nature's Tiny Factories"
Create a 3D model of the internal structure of a leaf.
Materials required: Green craft foam sheets, chart paper or computer sheets,
scissors, markers or coloured pencils, glue or tape, (Optional:
toothpicks, small beads, clay for the detailing)
 Also label all of its parts as shown in the diagram
 Please refer to Pg. 16 of your Science textbook
COMPUTER:
1. Prepare a presentation about only five best emerging technologies around the world using “MS Word”. Apply
suitable features to attract your presentation appealing.
2. Write an essay using "MS Word" software on “Responsible Citizen”.
Submit the soft / hard copy to your computer teacher.
 
